  • this clip has been sped up near the end i believe

  • @8Zeitgeist near :31 there is a seperate recording placed in you can tell by stuff moving into frame.

  • @8Zeitgeist You believe wrongly dude. I learnt if from some Kristofer Dahl videos I bought ages ago

  • good practise! try keep it up! :)

  • Those are some pretty cool licks!

  • nice tapping bro :D!

  • im the same way bro i can tap awesome but my sweeping is rubbish

  • haha who need sweeping when u can tap

  • youbhave an awesome guitar there and you're doing good, keep up the good work

  • we have a new eddie van halen on our hands XD

  • @1AiRHeAd3 haha hardly

  • ...I like the tapping

  • Dude you fucking rock. BTW, I can't sweep pick (well) either but check out my video on my channel. It's absolutely possible to be good and not sweep pick! I've been playing for almost a year and I can almost play the Afterlife solo, but I can't sweep pick well. That's like my main problem with it! Either way, keep it up, you're good!

  • @TurbofanDude haha cool. that's nice of you to say.

I've got to admit I'm steadily improving, it's perfectly feasible.. just takes some people longer than others. I've played for 6 or 7 years actually but only with a plectrum for the last year so that's the major challenge for me.

  • @entozoon I see. Well, good luck to you! I actually play the Piano as a fist instrument (see channel, lol) but Im slowly getting better on guitar two. Thanks for the advice!

  • @TurbofanDude that's great. you'll get good at guitar tonnes quicker than people starting from scratch ^_^

  • Lol 0:25.

    sounds like mario jumping

    Nice job

  • @willraz haha that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me ^_^

  • hey nice work man

  • @Alexxxface yeah? well so do you lol.. my god..

  • @entozoon maybe that was a tad bit blunt. just because you can perhaps tap and mimic a sweeping sound (kind of) doesn't make you good. it takes all the fun out of it. the fact that sweep picking is so complex and tricky makes it intriguing. anyone could tap on a guitar and make it sound like this or better for that matter.

  • @Alexxxface why are you managing to misunderstand the video so badly? the point of it was to show that it is quite difficult but not to be disheartened, by that point id practiced for a couple days and was showing improvement. the tapping was supplementary.

either read the description or don't comment. your choice

  • @entozoon AMEN! Tapping isn't the hardest thing ever, but it shows talent. A lot of people can't sweep pick that well! (Including me)

  • @TurbofanDude we'll get there buddy! as they say, you can do it! so let's get to it!

well they don't say that. but they should.

  • @entozoon yes they should, lol! Thanks!

  • tapping is easy and it doesn't make someone a good guitarist

  • how is this video showing that you are a good guitarist ? eny person can finger tap even a monkey can!

  • @MegaAroused Link me to a video of that and then your comment will be valid

  • @MegaAroused i can't. like to see you do better than that.

  • i have the same strap as you :)

  • @thehoodlum14 Really? haha not soon many people with one

  • Man im just like you! I can do tapping with no problem but because i started learning to play without a pick i always get confused at sweeping (I just automatically start normal picking, its a habit)...XD ne1 got any advice?

  • @karlothesexy5 I'm way better now but it's still proving to be the most difficult thing I've ever tried to learn!

My advice is that when you play a string, keep the pick moving down until it presses up against the next string and rest it there a split second until you play that one. kinda hard to explain, I can make another video later this week if you'd like?

  • @entozoon yea that would be great tnx for the advice :)

  • You could do the mute with the right hand at the top of the fretboard and then tap away with just your left hand like Kris shows in his video ;D

  • Well, if you don't want to sweep, then your beast tapping can easily do the same thing. It's just know the chord shapes. Sweeping is really the only choice for a one hand-pick one hand-fretboard guitarist.

If you learn the theory, then you can just tap it out instead.

  • @scottycanes hmmm that's interesting. it'd sound very different though I imagine

  • ive only got a rg 170 i wish i had your guitar

  • @jayds8 that's a good guitar dude. they don't sound much different to be honest!

  • Almost Man :)

  • what guitar have you got???

  • @jayds8 It's an Ibanez RGR420EX RAR

    do you like it?

  • Keep practicing patiently on the slow/controlled speeds - also be sure to try to place your thumb completely behind the neck, as that will give you more strength to do the hammer-ons!

  • @KristoferDahl Thanks for the tips!
