I don't think this is an eagle. This bird does belong to the group of birds that have same styled beaks and talons . It's overall body mass is much lighter . It does belong to the eagle family but looks more like a falcon or a kite. Eagles are much bigger and heavier than that. Plus eagles have wings almost the size of condors!
Actually birds can become vegetarians. Only in the west, people think & believe that are only carnivorous. If you look at the bird it is actually eating a fresh coconut...since this part of SouthWest India has a landscape lush with coconut trees & this bird possibly adopted these chickens in a rural area where there are beings raising hens & eagle/falcon adopts due to nature's natural instinct... becomes kind & gentle when it iself has been tended in a kind hearted way.
that thought process wouldn't even cross the mind of a bird of prey. if it wanted to eat them, they'd be dead. besides... why would it feed food to the chicks to fatten them up? it would make much more sense to eat the food, and eat the chicks. there is literally no circumstance in which that makes sense.
