I watched it as a small child. I loved Unsolved Mysteries as a child. I miss him. He was such a great guy. I can do an impression of him quite well. It was a great show.

they took the kids because the grandparents had an irrational fear their children were being abused in a satanic cult. This was 1988, when the whole "ritualistic abuse" thing started. The kids are adults now, both successful and living in Cali. The parents thought the kids had been brainwashed by their grandparents, mostly the grandfather. Kinda like Stockholm Syndrome I guess.
