Love this. As much as I love my Martha punches, they do like certain thicknesses of paper better than others. It may be sticking because the paper is too thin. Jean
twistedpaper is great :) I'm so happy you told us about it!! I found another great site where they have like 1,000's of free ephemera images to print off...i love it :) such a beautiful project roxy! i have the same thing with one of my punches from MS...i always have to pull the paper out because it gets stuck!
Calling cards were left by visitors when they came "calling" .
When visiting friends, or "making calls," people would leave a card at the front door or parlor, even if the person they were visiting was home. They were used as a reminder about who had visited recently and deserved a visit in turn. Sometimes a loving greeting was added, though the card alone was considered a message.
That is a cute idea.I wish that I could get stuff like that around here.I have the same Martha stewart border punch.I don,t have any problems with my Martha stewart punch like you do.
What a perfect idea. I will make one to slip into my husband's lunch pail Sunday morning. I've been ha-ing and hum-ing about a card for him. You inspired me. ~Dera
I think most people used calling cards not just businesses. When you visited someones home you would leave your card in a small dish usually left by the door. I did a bit of research on them a few years back when we restored an old Victorian house. Great job, love the video. Hope your sick punch gets better.
Yep, women would many times have their servent drop them off ... they were "business cards" in the sense that receiving one let the recipient know to call on the person.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! They're just always so informative and gives me ideas for what I can do with old stuff I've gotten at antique stores over the years! Thanks for sharing!
You have really missed the boat. Please google calling card history so you can understand how calling cards were used. Good luck.

they were also left to let the person know to come calling...many women sent their servents with the card to drop off with their intended visitor.
