1 thing that is pretty interesting is that the director of the original King Kong from the 1933 gave himself the same cameo as one of the airplane pilots! difference being that he was actually a WWI fighter pilot.

The other person on the plane with Peter Jackson in King Kong is Rick Baker, the person who wore the King Kong suit in the 1976 King Kong. Peter Jackson wanted Fay Wray (the original Ann Darrow from the 1933 version) to come out in a small cameo in the remake, but didn't happened.
