I love this woman!! I was brought up in east London so had the pleasure of eating many foods from many countries. Each time I ate something new I would ask how to make it and would watch my school friends' mums make their food. Now I can make all these dishes for my own children, telling them about the friends and great women that taught me how to cook. People like Vashti Lee are legends!!!
Nice caribbean dish but to be on the safe side, always leave your window slightly open when cooking because carbon monoxide kills. Remember it's a gas that you can't smell.
How much ginger? the powder or the fresh? Man, Ms. Vashti, you are amazing!! Such a warm and sweet personality! If you had a show, I'd wash it all the time. If you have grandkids, they are SO lucky to have you!! Thanks for sharing!
I'm vegetarian and I still want to have some of your chicken and rice and peas. It was lovely watching you cook. Wish you were part of my family. Thanks for sharing.
Well, I have watched a lot of the videos fro Rice & Peas & Chicken, and honey YOURS is the best, I mean it is da bomb! I love your style. Do you have more of these recipes of your own recordings. I love it!!! I live in Newfoundland, Canada. It is an Island that has a historical connection to Jamaica, and moreover, your Island's most excellent Dark Jamaican rum. We also have a popular method of cooking our cod too. But, I do love Ackee and Cod too.
She reminds me of my own Grandmother teaching me how to make her recipes. She is always smiling but she is serious when it comes to her recipes. And you 2 both cook in your slippers, lol. Luv it.
