last long compared to what? I have 19 year old one, had a two 12 y/o ones, and 15 year old one. I have less rust on my 19 year old bmw 3 series, with an M3 motor swapped in, than my old friends civic which he's hung onto for a while. And less rust on the underbody than an chevy, ford, dodge, toyota, etc etc. It's called galvanization, fool. And you can't beat the inline sixes. Knock on wood, I've taken them all past 150k on the engine except one, which I crashed. No maint.

Even if a company has millions of these - one does not have to damage these cars like this because common sense tells us that scraping ANY car in this manner will slow it down. And not all guard rails are the same therefore common sense would also tell us that cars will ALWAYS slow down at a different rate, causing different damage etc. Until they create universal guard rails all over the world made of the same height, material, angle etc. this testing is useless.
