The main difference between flaring out and drawing inside a larger tube is the learning curve, flaring out is available to almost anyone who can use a reamer and knows enough about hollow to flare out the end of a piece of tubing, where drawing inside tubing can be very frustrating because you have to find the sweet spot where the backflow from your torch isn't disrupting the flame as you are trying to draw lines, designs or w/e. just my 2copper
