I have quoted no sunni book or the books of tareek although you can find it in tareekh tibri!

But the best authenticity for you is your own mujtahid Imam!

Brother, I am a Shi'a also but I am against such actions and they are in fact discouraged by our scholars, such as Sayyed Seestani and Sayyed Khamanei. I think cutting my head open or beating myself with blades and chains is counterproductive because these things create a negative impression of Islam, as you can see just by reading the comments on this page. If this is the only way you can mourn Imam Husain then Bismillah please do so, but do it in your home where the public cannot see you.
