I believe in the survival of the fittest ....if we continue to help people with genetic.. our race can be in danger for the future..we will affect our genes for the future generation.. I still don't understand why parents that have a history of genes disorder and they know it.they will go on and have babies then watch them suffer. Same with the mothers who can't produce children.. if the woman can't produce a child is because she is not meant physically to have one.

And.evolution is still going on, women, when selecting a mate, often look for fitness or/and intellegence for instance.

The result of natural selection is not always beneficial. If the environment favors the individuals with qualities that are harmful for the humankind the result is degeneration. Women who "look for fitness or/and intelligence" in their mates have a single child or adopt. Women who produce 10 children look for guys with tattoos who beat them up. Sociopaths and mentally retarded reproduce faster than stable and intelligent individuals. This will eventually result in collapse of civilization.

Since then we have turned competition with nature into competition with other groups.

this has led to the formation of states competing for survival.

It is only governed by it's own internal logic for survival (market forces). We need to transcend this and become cooperative on a world scale. we may then allow open debate and reason to work, however we decide to develop - we do not do so fully rationally yet.

hi since we are probably all from the 1000 survivors, this means that africans(of today) have more genetic variation than the few hundreds who left africa and spread to the rest of asia and europe. So therefore this means that africans are genetically superior to all other "races"

Not really. It all depends on Divergence and the size of a gene pool. For instance, Africans carry no immunity to HIV and also have the unfortunate genetic code that promotes Sickle cell. Europeans also suffer in different areas. To say that one is superior than the other is pretty ignorant as your criteria for superiority is not defined.

That's simply not true. You only have the genetic capacity to fight diseases that your population has been exposed to. Black Africans haven't been exposed to innumerable diseases that white Europeans or Asians have.

More genetic variation means more safeguarding, for example put white,black and asian people in the same environment. Provide these people with a disease and see who survives, it will be the black population, then the white, then the asian population.

Except when the virus is one that is new to the African population. You are right: variation protects a population, but only new viruses affect all populations equally. There are other factors, like genetic drift and gene flow that influence which populations are lucky enough to have the right resistence genes. If the gene arose recently, say in Siberia, then the resistent population would be there. Chances are a more varied population will withstand a virus, but there's no certainty.

@oliviathecanadian>: Of course Olivia is talking about genetic diseases, like Multiple Sclerosis, Sickle Cell Anemia and Cystic Fibrosis, whech come from genetic mutations rather than from viruses or bacteria. There are others, like Maleria, which is born of a germ but is ameliorated by the same mutation that causes Sickle Cell. This is totally different from Measles, Polio and SmallPox, which are purely contagious.
