Your neighbor thought it was a rat? Ok I can top that, One time I brought my ferret to my younger sister's school for some show and tell thingy and some parent walked up to me and -I swear to God- asked me, "Hey, is that a Chihuahua?" XD I almost said "Yea, but he got stuck in a taffy puller."
I also currently have a male ferret. Hes got outside several times and he always comes back. He will either wait patiently at the back door or walk all the way around to the front door and wait for someone to let him in. Ferrets are actally pretty smart and Its not always true that once their outside they will never come back. I wouldnt recommend letting them out but just because they get outside doesnt mean they wont ever come back home.
When I was a teen I had a female ferret. She got outside twice. Once she was gone for two days and I was sitting out on my porch and she came running up to me. The other time she got out and apparently got underneath my dads car. He drove it and went to my grandmas house which is like 10 mins away from where I live. A few mins later after my dad was already inside my grandmas house my ferret ran up on my grandmas porch waiting at the door.
1:40 *10 year old owns ferret* "(kids crying, knocks on neighboors door) Sir I lost my ferret, have you seen her?" rapest neighboor: "heak yeah she is in my house" kid: "oh my gosh thank you!!! You saved her life!!" Yeah good example to kids... -.-
2:00 "Hey new neighboor, I would like to educate you on ferrets, ferrets are not rats...you see they are..." *neighboor slams door." Stupid youtube video now my neighboorhood thinks I'm a freak, lmao
@monkeyseevideos thanx for the help i am new with ferrets i have 2 now and they r a little hard to deal with they have been a little disobediant but i they are only a few months old. Question to all: Will the age of my ferrets have anything to do with how badly my ferrests are behaving, what should i do???

my mom said that I cant have a ferret untill my hamster dies NOT THAT I WANT LAA LAA 2 DIE NO WAY i want my hamster (laa laa) 2 last as long as she can it sucks cuz my friend who runs a pet store with her mom just got in a ferret and she's selling it for 79.99 but by the time i will be able 2 get one it will be gone and + I already got a rabbit just recently
I used to take my ferret for a walk all the time. Everytime we would get to my street he would make a run for my house, it was really funny. He knew which driveway was ours and what door to go to.
Mind you, I took him for a walk every day but he did learn where our house was.
Oh i can't agree more! I think these videos give people alot more information from a personal point of veiw and expert! Better than Expertvillage or things like that.
We have 3 ferrets and we lost one. So we put the other ferrets in the cage and we put the cage in the garage and it was raining SO hard AND the next morning we found are ferret b/c we left the garage door open all night so the lost ferret might smell her sisters, and she did, and in the morning we found her next to the cage sniffing her sisters! It was amazing. When we lost her we went looking for her but could not find her. She found her way back home.
