  • This works maybe half of the time. My computer recently crashed, I lost fifty something tabs. I go to "Recently Closed", and what do I see but only the tabs I had closed before my system crashed. Not a single one of the tab groups that had been lost during the crash showed up.

  • Sure wish there was an auto save. I just had Chrome crash and lost all 7 tabs I had open. Reopen and there is no way to get them back. Two and a half years since this video and they haven't really added much.... It may not be the best browser but stuff like this makes me miss Opera when I use Chrome :-\

  • Damnit there was a key bind for this but I forgot which one.

  • That is not session restore; that's tab restore. Session restore is when I can save a session and go back and retrieve it, like in Opera. Chrome may be the best browser for compatibility, but for a workspace, it is very poor. It needs session save/restore, the ability to stack tabs, a download manager that doesn't take up screen space, and for the love of all that's holy, being able click a tab to minimize it. I hate having to hunt for tabs I just opened or left.

  • AND I want to be able to make a bookmarked named "GR," and when I type GR into the URL bar, it'll go to the URL I have associated with it! It astounds me that this is not implemented!

  • when i click on the wrench on the upper right, the menu that drops down does NOT look like the one on this video at all. what the SHIT!

there is no 'Options' on the list.. wtf i need to restore all the tabs from last session this isnt helping.

and of course im NOT using a windows :)

  • Hey, Nick, you know what else works just as well? HOTKEYS.

Let's say you're... typing a YouTube comment just like this one, but when you try to type a capital 'W' ( ← hey, like that one!), maybe you hit Ctrl+W instead of Shift+W. Your tab closed—it's witchcraft! But not to fear... because you can re-open the tab without even moving your hand! Just hit Ctrl+Shift+T, a shortcut that's been around before Chrome even existed. No more awkward fumbling with the mouse or looking for miniaturized links.

  • google don't try to hide your shortcoming....just rectify it....

    damn...i still love opera... :D

  • That's not full session store .....it just brought one window back......other option is irritating if I don't want my previous tabs and windows each time I start my browser.

These options are all walk-arounds......correct method is what Opera uses....I can store as many sessions as I want for as long as I want

  • And BAM, there it is.

  • Well I've just lost tons of tabs, google why you didn't think when writing your software. Stupid Chrome, I am switching back to the old good browsers!

  • Look, I'm glad there's a way of getting tabs back, and I respect the unobtrusive design sense, but what about the user story?

Shouldn't I be allowed to turn it on? This is a standard, expected feature. Do some user tests to see how many people turn it back on. It doesn't matter if it conflicts with your design sense if it's what users want.

  • @GameMogul Note, my biggest beef is the lost session data and lost browser history. Yeah I can get my last tabs back, but that's just the latest snapshot of what I was doing (sans account logins and form data.)

  • finally i can close chrome, phewwwww

  • this guy has a long neck.

  • it does not help when you are for example in a chat room or when you uploading smth. you have to start from beginning. chrome would be best if not this issue. must leave you now :(

  • thanks !

  • @xrandomflip

Great job on ur stupidity, u have been dubbed as stupid for saying ubuntu is better, you know why? Cuz ubuntu is an OS and chrome is a web browser. See the difference? No. Then Unsubscribe

  • Use it all the time thanks google :D

  • Chrome is kinda good I guess.

  • ubuntu still better

  • Ahaha, this is SO funny! Hilarious!!! I laughed so hard!

  • Or you can just get firefox...

  • This guy is cool, lol!

  • chrome sucks

  • right with you

  • That's what you think.

  • Ok dipshit. Have fun with the Trojans

  • lol Not me, I have a program that protects my pc from them.

  • haha they tried to make it like an apple tutorial video but they using sum shitty ass pc

  • his eyes are too close to each other...

  • yes, thank you. judging his looks is the best way to critique the software feature in his presentation. google chrome sucks because his has narrow eyes.

  • and bammm my sessions are back

  • Are you going to make Google chrome for macs users.

  • the biggest problem i get is that, say the power goes out, or the fuse blows, it or my computer shuts down for whatever reason, it doesn;t ask if want to continue previous session, like Firefox does

  • you can bet firefox will come out with an update that modifies their session restore to mirror these options...that is the sweetness of open source projects.

  • hey nick

    make chrome for mac

  • PORN!!!!!!!! =D

  • I love the restore last tabs option in chrome. Comparing the feature to firefox, chrome loads the tabs up alot faster.

  • i used to really like firefox, and i still hate internet explorer, but now firefox runs terrible and i have all kinds of problems with it. i've tried reinstalling it and everything i can think of. i never had this trouble before, it freezes up and crashes on me too. what happened to the firefox i knew?

i might have to try this google chrome out, it looks like it might be a better option....

  • Its that fire fox does this even if the computer shuts down. I still prefer google chrome its so easy to use and it seems to me that it is so much faster!

  • it's too bad google chrome stinks. (firefox ftw!)

  • Google Chrome doesn't stink, because it's peeling users away from Firefox.

  • Eh, well at least they don't use internet Explorer..

  • Google Chrome Rocks!!....

Firefox will soon be DEAD!! lol

    :)

  • Doesn't Firefox already do this? This isn't any new or innovative idea.

  • yeah but firefox "interrupts" the user when they want to shit down everything. The only thing I wonder is if it works if you shut down your computer, firefox works regardless

  • So if I shit on everything, Firefox tells me that it's probably a bad idea? What the fuck version are you using??

  • Firefox only does this when it crashes or in the history tab this is more simple

just open a tab and your there this is a innovative in ways and not either.

  • Why did youtube feature this?

Ohh..ya google owns youtube now don't they? Money hungry bastards -.-

  • shit, this bad for me cause i go to porn sites alot

  • Dude just open an incognito window.

Nothing is saved in an incognito window

meaning all the porn without anyone knowing.

    incognito= crtl+shift+n

  • god bless you

  • Keyloggers still work through private browsing.

  • There's porn mode. ;)

  • I had a feeling I wasn't alone.

  • This feature is in Internet Explorer 7 and 8. It's not special. Microsoft did it first.

  • I bet that guy is a really kind person!

  • cool

  • Chrome is just getting better and better

  • Chrome is my new best friend! :D

  • Nice!
