  • It is so hard to hear what the guy (the mayor?) says on the broadcast, I hope it's louder if there were an actual emergency.

  • so they still set off the chrylser siren then right?

  • Wow ur stupid. If it was a victory, than it wouldn't talk. Ur so dumb

  • ATI=eww

  • sounds like a modulater or a WHELEN 4000 series or onmi by WHELEN an example is 2900 series

  • @nick06111226 They do not have this tone, it would break the drivers. It is an ATI.

  • @ACAPenetrator50 what tone are you talking about??

  • @nick06111226 The recording of the STL-10.

  • That is not a victory siren. That is an ATI siren with a recording of a federal signal STL-10

  • better having a siren to warn u than being killed

  • sounds like city17

  • Just imagine what those "British Tourist's" old enough to remember the damn Nazi's Blitzing their island must think when they hear that thing sound? Probably scare's Churchill's Cigar right out of them!

  • It's not a victory siren...isn't it a tsunami test

  • This is the sound of a federal STL-10 siren.

  • Dosen't it hurt your ears when all sirens all over the city go off at lunch time?

  • san francisco has a system of ATIs

  • @97Siren do we know that already? yes i think so. -.-

  • I wish San Francisco kept their STL-10s.ATIs suck!

  • @Thunderbolt1000T why is it so bad? i think it sounds prettycool

  • @Thunderbolt1000T Sounds cool echoing off the buildings though

  • i can't understand a word it said

i would much prefur an air raid siren

  • @hootergirlsrhot this is a test this is a test of the outdoor flooring system this is only a test lol ... thats excatly what it says also he wasnt close to it ussally you can here it

  • IT SCARE THE BALLS OFF ME!!Every time I here it I think the zombies are coming!

  • Victory Siren my ass.

More like Doomsday siren, 2.1 million dollar investment for no particular reason. unless they know something we don't.

  • Wow. ATI is so cheap, That cant even make their own tones.

  • i always Hear it Every Tuseday 12:00 @ George Washington High School and the rest of the city ..

  • omg we were touring san francisco on one of these days except at the time we were on twin peaks. the siren up there is LOUD!!! but after it dies down it's kind of cool to here the message "this is a test" echoing throught the city :D

  • @illinoisboyinchi it is for World War 3.. you have a few years left to enjoy your life.

Not so cool now is it?

  • its not a victory sien u lyer!

  • i miss s.f.

  • i was there only for a week in '05, so one tuesday. but i was out all day. how come i don't remember this at all? i must be deaf in frisco or something. idk.

  • Victory Or Air Raid Test Informing For Public Safety, Alright Who's The "Wise Guy" Using My Electronic Voice Signature Without My Authorization!?!? But It Comes In Handy, If Something Goes Down. That's The Last Thing We Need If San Francisco Took Out Our Victory Or Air Raid Testing For The Public. That Would Be Public Reckless Endangerment & Willful Negligence!!!!!! Nine9eniN

  • it isnt a victory siren, its an ATI.

  • I believe what the guy is trying to say is that in the unlikely chance that a disaster were to happen during one of those weekly tests, people would not know.

  • you do have a point.

  • This does not sound like a victory air raid siren. The victory air raid sirens had no voice speaker with it.

  • My apologies i am incorect.

  • why does the city have sirens

  • Tsunamis... The 'siren' heard is just a recording of a Federal Signal STL-10, played over an ATI loudspeaker.

  • It does sound similar to a STL-10, most likely a synthesized one though.

  • yeah it's a recording. atis suck. i love the stl-10.

  • @codyUSA101 its just a test cause sf has alot of earthquakes so they need to just have them reulary you get used to them tho its sccary at first but then your like oh ya duh its tuesday

  • amen!!

  • There is a thunderbolt on the Ferry Building but it is never used anymore. Shame.

  • How do you know that? I never knew there were any old thunderbolts.

  • By the way, since the cold war is over, are these sirens being used for any type of severe weather, such as tornadoes, floods, or tsunamis? California rarely ever gets tornadoes.

  • The western and northern part of San Francisco is on the Pacific Ocean and is subject to tsunamis anywhere in the Pacific. Beyond that, the system is set up to alert people on what to do after a severe earthquake. Although I think the shaking ground might be a tip-off.

  • If earthquakes could be predicted, they could go off before they happen, which they can't be predicted. What would people do after a severe earthquake? Back in April, there was an earthquake in Illinois, not a severe earthquake, but it shook Cincinnati, where I live, and all I did was stay in bed.

  • I know what mean when you say California rarely gets twisters....even New York State and Pennslyvania gets more Tornadoes than California!

  • About 6 or 7 years ago, I have some relatives that live in Buffalo, and my uncle had spotted a funnel cloud when playing golf with friends. I'm not sure if it ever touched down as a tornado. Also, parts of Erie County have sirens, but they're only used for Volunteer Fire Departments.

  • San Francisco uses sirens called ATIs.

  • thats a shame.

  • ATI = All The Idiots (who made this electronic siren have no idea what they are doing). :)
