  • Well, got to sail both the 100 and the Vareo while on a sailing holiday:) both obviously similar in that they have mainsail and assymetric spinnaker. Very pleasantly suprised at the user friendliness of the 100, if you can sail a Laser 1 easily then the 100 is a piece of cake, but far more comfy and a blast with the kite up:) Vareo? it was ok, cheaper in the used market but I found it painful to hike, hard edged gunwales! the 100 is the better;)

  • bet you was nackerd after this chunks

  • Good video, makes the rest look pants!!! the 'rikihooker'(?) ones are quite good though.

Currently sail an RS700 but would like a hiking boat. Dont want to go back to Laser 1 though...not the most comfy hike. Like the look of the Vareo though...but the 100 sure looks appealing:)

  • how does the rs100 compare to the rs vareo?

  • @willwadd123 The 100 is designed for racing and is very well balanced, i haven't tried the small rig but at 87kg i felt a bit light with the big main.

There are 3 mainsail sizes now but the boat sails really nicely. The Vareo was originally designed as a family boat, i.e. 1 adult and a child or two along for the ride, the boats only really compare in the amount of sails they have, in all other areas i don't think you can really compare, go and have a go in a demo one, you'll love it.
