I agree, the lines messed up in the cross, but they haven't done roll stepping before, and it's hard to keep track of how large your steps are when rolling.

Very disappointing. I can't believe how bad this is. I assumed they would have a great band, but the alignment is horrible on every rank, and this drill is like a high school band practicing for the 1st time in the summer. There are little Class 1A schools here in E. Texas that have much better marching fundamentals than this. I marched in h.s., college, and the USAF Golden West Band, so I know. I love this march, 'Grandioso" but it is played way too slowly.

I love DCI and marching band. You have to admit that drum corps is a counter culture and very esoteric. Very few people love it like we do. College Marching band is much more approachable. You should look at the UCLA band..they march corps style. Plus, a lot of the members are in corps. You shouldn't knock any one in a music group...they keep it alive. P.S. I was in the Trojan band, and it rocks. We had drum corps members. They go both ways !

I love DCI and marching band. You have to admit that drum corps is a counter culture and very esoteric. Very few people love it like we do. College Marching band is much more approachable. You should look at the UCLA band..they march corps style. Plus, a lot of the members are in corps. You shouldn't knock any one in a music group...they keep it alive. P.S. I was in the Trojan band, and it rocks. We had drum corps members. They go both ways !

They need more practice!! It doesn't even look organized. I've been to many many college football games, and I gotta say that this is one of the worst bands I've ever seen.

obviously u dont get it. USC's band (the one in the video) is showing how the Stanford band used to be (when playing march grandioso) and how they are now (unorganized wreckless etc)

I wasn't exactly talking about the video. I meant the USC's band itself. I've seen SC's band playing many times in LA (UCLA fan here) and compared to many other college bands in the nation, it is one of the worst.

What do you think Stanford does??? Spotted Owl field show at the University of Oregon, Potato Famine field show at Notre Dame! The Stanford Band deserves to be mocked once in a while!

Regardless of whether you like any of the schools involved, or think its poor taste (for whatever reason) to mock another school, you gotta admit, "organized chaos" is hard to achieve, and USC did a great job of it.
Now please, quit playing that Victory chant crap... almost as annoying as the FSU warchant.

although stanford doesnt march like the rest of us, that doesnt mean you should demean them. They have their unique way of marching guys. just keep it cool and enjoy the show.

I can't believe anyone has the nerve to talk about SC repeating the countermarch when the farm has been making the same 6 jokes for decades. Yes, we get it. Phallus formations, unfunny glue jokes and god-awful playing. Blah blah blah. "Look at us! We're counter-culture! We're different! We need our flip-folders to play all 7 of our songs (not that it matters because you can't figure out what we're playing 87% of the time)!"

I can't believe anyone would compare Stanford band and the Spirit of Troy. USC's band may not be the most technical, but Stanford's is an absolute disgrace. They just run around like a bunch of crazy hippies.
