  • Will this increase my sprinting performance?

  • what exsactually does this do for you?

  • thats nothing

  • Thanks my coach told me to do plyos for high jump and this video is exactly what I needed

  • good form, enjoyed video

  • poka raaaka!

  • I am glad they didn't make us do that exercise for hurdles. I would have not made it through those alternating height ones....

  • i dont think ur suppose to jump over with 2 feet....or am i missing sumthing..cuz my couch told us to jump of our dominate leg in front and ur other leg behind...and i just got confuzed by the vid...no offence..but i need advice on how to bea good hurdler cuz i have a track meet after next..and so ya..i wanna be good

  • Should be flat foot contacts

  • I mean use the feet as springs. he is keeping the feet's tips down, while actually I the tips should be up. if you watch Stefan Holm you can understand better. it's important to use the "bow" of muscles we have in our feet.

sorry for my english eheh xD I know it's horrible

  • I did it too for many years... and this guy really don't know how use his feet

  • What do you mean about the use of the feet?

  • @SiHunt you have to flex your feet....

  • hurdle's are hard to do but u get us to it :}

  • at the end he just stops lol

  • Anybody knows how many rounds/training is suitable and how long break got to keep to do this kind of practice again

  • 5 Hurdles x 3 reps = 1 Round

3 Rounds with 90 sec rest between rounds.

This is one exercise of a plyometric work out where you may take 5 or more exercise depending on you ability to train at volume

  • These stretches really work...ma high school coach has had us doin these for years

  • The guy is a human rabbit. Should I be afraid?

  • this is a good vid.... thanks

ill be sure to use this in my training :)

  • finally someone who shows good technique and gives good instruction. There's so many terrible videos on plyos on youtube. I do my best but you may be a little more qualifiied

  • how can you jump hurdles that are 7.5m apart? no one can jump that far with only one touch between hurdles

  • You have to run 3 steps between each hurdle...

    That's the Simple way lol

  • well yeah if you want to actually run hurdles. This drill isn't meant to help hurdlers though. It's aimed at jumpers. The whole point of the drill is lost if you are running between the hurdles.

  • haha, but some jumpers would still do the 1-2-3 drill :)

  • 1-2-3 drill please explain.... I think I have an idea.

  • It's basically just three steps between each hurdle where u jump off with one foot, mostly applicable for sports where u jump off one foot (e.g high jumping) Some continue the rep all jumping on one foot (right left right, land with left than right left right etc) or others with different legs on each jump (right left right, left right left, etc)

  • yer ist just bounding...thats wat plyometrics are man not having a 7.50m gap between em

  • u shldnt b landing on ur toes, u should try and keep ur toes up at all times when doin this

  • fucking video:|:| a big noobs

  • white men can jump!

  • u should be the easter bunny

  • sick new vert program created by guy with 52 inch running vert message me if interested or im me on aim my sn is nba8340

  • These are good exercises, but they are NOT plyometrics. These are simple stretch-shortening exercises or bodyweight exercises.

To be plyos, you need to set off the myotatic reflex, which is involuntary. It is only set off if you lose your balance, and if thats the case, you can't control the next move well enough to force a strong concentric contraction.

Good Body weight exercise. Definitely not Plyo.

  • That's incorrect, the stretch reflex is part of the stretch shortening cycle with the msr a simple response to a rapid elongation of intrafusal muscle spindles followed by a strong (voluntary) concentric contraction of parallel extrafusal fibers.

This exercise is a classic example and is the very definition of a plyometric exercise.

  • Ladies and Gentlemen... The most boring Voice ever =D

  • @123Nathaniel321 lmao! ya it sure is.....

  • make sure you give the guy in front of you lots of room, we had a guy hit a hurdle and the hurdle swung up and destroyed the next guys shins

  • you always have to go one at a time at these excercises!

  • lol we did this in practice today for the first time and only one person wiped out, but it was ok because he caught himself :)

  • How many guys have injured themselves with this silly drill?

  • why is it silly?

  • Gee, I don't know? Maybe because it fucks you up? Plenty of training drills which don't. But, hey, the English are always right.

  • how does this exercise 'fuck you up' ?

its not even that hard and doesnt require large amounts of force.

  • the only way it would fuck u up is by making ur legs sore if u trip.

its actually a good exercise to strengthen ur explosive leg muscles

  • baleheads is rite actually...to a certain point lol. I jump 6'6" in Nike Donks during the meet and once 6'8 hits ill throw on some high jump spikes. The weight difference is dramatic. Seems like im a lot more lighter on my feet rather than jumping in high jump spikes the wholeee entire time.

  • all olympic high jumpers use this type exercise as one part of their routine so yea it works!

  • wow!!! that man is like a frog!!!! boing boing!!!

  • It's not supposed to dumbass, read the info. These are for jumps.

  • Do you know what plyos do for you, moron? They strengthen your leg muscles and quicken your muscle twitch. That makes you jump higher. Stupid ass, don't try to act like you know what you're talking about, maybe you should stfu and try doing the plyos instead of whining about how they don't work. You may find yourself jumping in college like me, not struggling to get over 6'3". lol.

  • lol yea ok just cuz ur muscles twich faster dont help u jump higher fool it will help u run faster if u knew wat u was talkin about wit that fake ass text book jump stratigie please u must b jumpin some d-3 shit IF u r in college cuz dat aint cuttuin it in D-1 step up kid

  • what does make you jump higher then, smartass? Learn some biomechanics and physics for fuck's sake.

  • lol you must be one of those people who thinks heavy lfiting makes you something

  • does that really help you jump higher?..I need like a half inch more to be able to dunk better...ty

  • Wear Nike Air Force. Makes you jump higher.

  • i was doin it at 15 years.then it was good.now is crap.you need more weight for strenght

  • well you must not in collage yet for hight jump b/c you do this work out all day until your legs fall off and if you need more weight you put the weight vest on and thats hard shit. and im a 7'2 jumper.

  • Ron Paul for president!

  • HAHAHAHA

  • Land on balls of feet, not the toes!!!!

  • you should also avoid your heels touching the ground

  • its nice doing exercises, and the vid is awesome, but can you run fast!!!!

  • You didnt put a disclaimer about only professionals should try this. I tried it and fell over the third hurdle onto the fourth one. LOL Should have listened when you said start off low though. haha. Serious though this works well thanks for the tips.

  • Wow.. your demonstrator is a real perfectionist!!

  • same with what i thought

  • thanks, this is a good demo. we call this Jump or Die! we start with no hurdles and work our way to the real thing.

  • apparently, they've found that it's better to do them in sets over three.... but i may have just dreamt that up....

  • wow, a very good model
