the Boundary of Free Speech by Inciting Violence, and when People Respond,

they are called Violent Rebels. People even have thrown stuff at the WBC.

Perhaps the problem isn't freedom of speech but where and when one should speak. If someone wants to preach there are places for him to do so. Even some open air venues are available but not everywhere. Same applies for smoking. There are places to smoke and places that one cannot smoke because it bothers others. A person who preaches love for others must take into account where and when he preaches. If he bother's others he will be working against the message he wants to preach.

@OpenAirOutreach It's not about free speech. No one is saying you can't preach. It's about appropriateness, when and where. When someone tells you it's not appropriate to preach here and now and asks you to find a different place or come back later he isn't infringing on your free speech. Why is it you can't tell the difference?

@OpenAirOutreach No it isn't. Free speech isn't about "where" you preach its about "what" you preach. You have the freedom to preach any opinion you want and can't be arrested for the content even if it's anti-establishment. The law protects you to as to the content. It is not nor ever has been about "where" and "when" you preach. You can't disturb the peace at night time for instance and you can't stand in front of your neighbors house all day harass them. They are not free speech issues.

@naulon1 The question of when and where or appropiateness is a matter of preference and opinion. There are no laws stating when and where. The law rather gives you freedom of speech period.

Just preach IN Him somewhere where they will accept, Paul suffered but he also went to other places that changed many lives and kept up with them to keep teaching them. I am praying that I will continue to preach and to share the word of GOD even though my life is being threatened by the sinners in my county. I pray that you will be strong. The reason that the poLICE are stopping you because they are demon possessed and will be shedding INNOCENT blood and say we are a threat to the public. Be strong.

There is no such thing as "fighting words." Some fool made that up. Either we have FREE speech or we do not. If a person exercises his "free" speech by using his voice to commit a crime, then he should be placed in jail for misusing his speech rights.

Very good catch on the student's wording. Right not privilege. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has at times look at unalienable rights as privileges which they can limit.

Those who sew dissension reap discord, simple as that. Whatsoever a man seweth, that shall he also reap. You "openairpreachers" who go and spew hate, you are merely reaping what you have sewn when you get thrown in jail. If you stuck with the GOSPEL, the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ for the forgiveness of sin, you wouldn't get near the backlash that you do. But you don't, therefore you reap what you sew.

People getting arrested for preaching is normal in Europe. The leaders of this continent think nothing of throwing pastors in jail. We should pray for all preachers

@OpenAirOutreach But its probably not just Christians. I am sure that people from all religions have been persecuted. Personally, I could care less about your preaching. Do what ever you want. My husband fought for your freedom to do so and I support that. We don't agree on many things, but free speech is one of them.
