Poor Queen Charlotte. It must have been so heartbreaking for her. And when he weeps because he missed her. How unspeakably miserable he must have been, poor soul. If they'd been allowed to be together I think he would have been far happier, and she would have done all she could to make him comfortable.
Poor old King George should of just said fuck it and settled in America to live the good life. He could of become a real king and one without obligations i might add. Maybe that was his problem.
they actually found out that George possibly had a rare medical condition called porphyria which is a genetic disease that causes bouts of delirium, but he was never actually mad
'God rot all Royals; give us the wisdom of America'??!! Why is there bloody US propaganda in every film that comes out of America or that kowtows to Hollywood! ? This film is clearly made for an American audience because of the pronunciation of certain words and the fact that the term 'regency' had to be explained.
@LaraDing Ture, the film producers decided to change the title from The Madness of King George III to The Madness of King George so as the Americans won't refuse to watch it because they didn't watch George I and George II yet. Oh'Happy Day I say when Americans don't know their history and under which King their country has been declared independent.
@uwed100 Its a channel 4 film as in the british channel 4, also made trainspotting and I'd argue less made for an american audience than say Elizabeth and young Victoria etc but yeah nobody cares less about the British royal family than the British, maybe Australians
@LaraDing I fear you trust too much faith in the intellegence of our fellow citizens, its a channel 4 films production, no hollywood film about any monarchy would have such an elequent script

America has no class, nothing worth noting. A place where all they do is push the rights of minorities, and harbor and protect Jews to the point they run the countries finances, hollywood and press. The best day of my life was when I willingly renounced my American citizenship and became a British Citizen, a subject of Her Majesty.

@Iusedtobeacat93 loool .... we Europeans always like to make fun of the Americans
don´t we ? But although it is made for an American audience (which is normal for
being an american movie I guess) I think it is quite nicely done.
And you have to remember it is not a documentary.
And I at least would also like to see George I and George II :)

OW! That looks painful as hell.
Sad how little they knew about medicine. Hurts to think about what things we're doing wrong, while telling ourselves we're very clever.
