@brassknuckletrash just figured it out. play a power chord with the root on the 3rd fret of your A string and the 5th fret of your D string. play those two notes and then the two open strings after it (G and B). slide that shape down to the 2nd & 4th fret of the same strings and pick the same way. then leave your 2nd & 4th power chord where it is and add your middle finger on the 3rd fret of your low E string. pluck the 4 lowest strings. take your middle finger off and play the same 4 strings
CVLT Nation webzine is premiering the new Amebix single "Knights of the Black Sun" from their upcoming Sonic Mass album, tomorrow 6/7/11 12 noon PT...
One of the bleakest songs ever - I remeber this being played around a camp fire on an acoustic guitar at the anti-Unilever protest camp by the guitarist of Karma Sutra (Luton anarchopunk band) back in 1986...
i read an interview with Amebix in Thrasher Magazine and they said that Venom's black metal album was almost entirely influenced by Amebix. they sent Venom one of their albums and Venom responded by bluntly saying, "sounds great. now we're gonna rip you off." and then black metal came out.
Now I know where poison the well got their influence from in the softer parts, sounds so similar to any of the quieter parts of 'opposite of december' - awesome song anyway, fucking great band
@mightforright How similar the opening guitar line in this song sounds to the softer parts of Poison The Well's 'Opposite Of December' because I had never heard anything like PTW's softer sound until I heard this, that's wtf I was talking about
So much emotion, and a band that never did it for the money. I wouldn't say that Amebix is my favorite band because of they lyrics or the awesome sound. I would say they are my favorite band because they were true to music.
this is only song i can listen after walking up in the fuckin morning after drinking to much the night before with my mates. not knowing were the fuck i am.the suns so fucking bright and im feeling sick as hell.after i replay thhis song 10 times im gonna do the thing same again.
@Deathly1Fighter if you want to learn how to play it then watch stig doing an acoustic of it (its on youtube) and you can watch what he plays and learn.thats how i done it
I always thought as 37 to be a magnificent number. I heard somewhere that 37 was the number of the devil. Being a weird coincidence, my birth name is Damien, Son of the devil.
I like The Baron's Mohawk type haircut more than when he has long hair, but that's just me. Either way, he's one of the best punk vocalists ever. I just love that snarl of his. : ]
@Mrfuckinyourmother lol yu? nice read what you type buddy. as matter of fact i do this song has a hint of post-punk beginning and end, middle picks up so shut up and enjoy the music and quit trying to show off how much you know musically you pretentious ass... fucking know it all! and FIY ive seen amebix live in austin!
Starts off weird, like the cure or something only much better. A brilliant song by one of the best bands ever. I don't know what all the race bullshit people have posted is all about. They should move if not happy with where they live.
Think about it, things only get done with violence or seem to rather, now Im intelligent but violence does seem to be the method of sorting shit nowadays

They breed here, and this area represents ground zero for the first once "high class" neighborhood that they infected. Theirs is but a sickness, infecting my GOD LOVING WHITE SOCIETY. THIS IS GROUND ZERO, NIGGER TRASH. HEIL HITLER! DOWN WITH NIGGERS AND SPICS!
4:06 nice poster! The punk scene in the U.K. had really changed in the late 80's. It was still great though. Amebix, Electro Hippies, Extreme Noise Terror, Heresy, Ripcord, Doom, Napalm Death, Carcass. All great stuff.

As a punk, trying too hard to be strong is a no-no.
You got it or you don't. What you don't have naturally you make up for with a good attitude towards things as fucked up as i have experienced, like schizophrenia, and drug addicted parents. Emotional strength is a bigger thing than physical.
Hahaha @ squatting. I can see the adventure of doing it once or twice, but you're not fooling anybody if you say you enjoy going weeks without showering or a decent meal. Society doesn't curtail to our individual ideals and petty demands, and it never has since the first humans walked the earth. Crust punk rebellion will never change anything.
individualist crust punk rebellion won't do anything. Crusties must "conform" to society, (or do a good job of pretending) then infiltrate it to change its direction. Take positions of power, influence communities, so on.
It's the only way, besides sitting and waiting, which accomplishes nothing.
Amebix took inspiration from Motörhead (and to a lesser extent Lemmy-era Hawkwind), Black Sabbath, and Venom, combined with an ethos and worldview akin to Crass. They were also influenced by various post-punk and Gothic rock bands, including Public Image Ltd., Bauhaus, Joy Division, and especially Killing Joke.

I respect your musical taste fella but Bathory no comparison, just a style of music in my opinion. Amebi represented, and still do, a world view that remains authentic to this day. Check out the rob miller (Baron) day the country dies clip on this sight, the man shows more insight into how to live a meaningful and beautiful life in 3 minutes than any politician or world leader ever has...as real as it gets.

Like Pinhead From Hellraiser And A Much Darker Edward Scissorhands But As Fucking Real As U Like!
