  • from 4:30 is the most epic moment in punk or crust punk

  • Shit yeah,Amebix is awesome.Theyre artwork,lyrics,music all created this b&w world of doom,metal,punk,art-damaged music.One of a kind.

  • Buy This Track From The No Sanctuary 12" Vinyl at Amebix Merchandise Official On Ebay Or Amebix.net

  • @amebixification Awesome

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • @GolliwoggMusic I APPROVE this comment

  • my kind of top comments. :)

  • Anyone know the chords to this? I really want to play this song.

  • @brassknuckletrash just figured it out. play a power chord with the root on the 3rd fret of your A string and the 5th fret of your D string. play those two notes and then the two open strings after it (G and B). slide that shape down to the 2nd & 4th fret of the same strings and pick the same way. then leave your 2nd & 4th power chord where it is and add your middle finger on the 3rd fret of your low E string. pluck the 4 lowest strings. take your middle finger off and play the same 4 strings

  • @whoreofmaldoror fucking yes mate. Thank you.

  • The beginning section of this track makes me think of the grey shitty streets of Glasgow.Britain is dead

  • Amebix fuckin rules!!! 14 years listening to them and i still cant get enough!!!

  • @666Nightshift i feel the same way about amebix

  • @Wayavas1337 Hey mate!!!They r fuckin great!!!I cant wait to go back 2 London and see them live1!!!!Take care!!! cheers mate!!!

  • CVLT Nation webzine is premiering the new Amebix single "Knights of the Black Sun" from their upcoming Sonic Mass album, tomorrow 6/7/11 12 noon PT...

  • I made love to this song back in my days

    ahhh memories

  • Fuckin hell!!Great tune!!!!

  • THAT MAN HAZ FUNNY HAIR!

  • this song kicks ass

  • One of the bleakest songs ever - I remeber this being played around a camp fire on an acoustic guitar at the anti-Unilever protest camp by the guitarist of Karma Sutra (Luton anarchopunk band) back in 1986...

  • Lmao, this song is really depressing, I bet people with Depression have a gun to their head buy the end of this song.

Roses are red sometimes violets are blue,

But were always puking on Cider and glue.

I love this band soo fucking much.

Even if this song makes my soul hurt lmao.

  • i read an interview with Amebix in Thrasher Magazine and they said that Venom's black metal album was almost entirely influenced by Amebix. they sent Venom one of their albums and Venom responded by bluntly saying, "sounds great. now we're gonna rip you off." and then black metal came out.

  • Musical disorder amongst social calamity and dystopic terror.

    This, my friends, is Crust.

  • Haha Skate or Die by No Cash seems to have borrowed the intro. Both bands are good though, so whatever =)

  • Liquid riffs and such a strong sense of color of sound.. Amebix is the epitome of heaviness.

  • Comment removed

  • amebix or die! jajaj

  • Roses are red, sometimes violets are blue but we're always puking on cider

    and glue <3

  • fucking classic

  • damn. love this song. epic lyrics and brings back such good memories of depression :)

  • Now I know where poison the well got their influence from in the softer parts, sounds so similar to any of the quieter parts of 'opposite of december' - awesome song anyway, fucking great band

  • @12ozshark wtf are you talking about.

  • @mightforright How similar the opening guitar line in this song sounds to the softer parts of Poison The Well's 'Opposite Of December' because I had never heard anything like PTW's softer sound until I heard this, that's wtf I was talking about

  • So much emotion, and a band that never did it for the money. I wouldn't say that Amebix is my favorite band because of they lyrics or the awesome sound. I would say they are my favorite band because they were true to music.

  • AMEBIX BLOW!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is only song i can listen after walking up in the fuckin morning after drinking to much the night before with my mates. not knowing were the fuck i am.the suns so fucking bright and im feeling sick as hell.after i replay thhis song 10 times im gonna do the thing same again.

  • some one tab the intro for me

  • @Deathly1Fighter if you want to learn how to play it then watch stig doing an acoustic of it (its on youtube) and you can watch what he plays and learn.thats how i done it

  • Roses are red. sometimes violets are blue but we're always puking on cider

    and glue

People say that we're twisted, you know it's not true, we just get so bad

when there's fuck all to do

  • have you guys heard, zygote the band amebix formed w/o the baron.

    it fucking sucks!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah its pretty bad, its like amebix without the baron

  • @Wayavas1337 hahahahaha

  • @Wayavas1337 Honestly I think they are alright.

  • @stretchmillz101 Zygote's LP was good! Just don't expect Amebix......it was more leant towards Smart Pils........don't dismiss it

  • @stretchmillz101 I dug Zygote. It was nothing like No Sanctuary-era Amebix, but still good nonetheless.

  • @stretchmillz101 It sounds like Amebix with Dave Mustaine lol, Its not the worst thing Ive heard but it wasnt ballzy at all.

  • amebix is one of the few bands you never get tired of listening too

I always thought as 37 to be a magnificent number. I heard somewhere that 37 was the number of the devil. Being a weird coincidence, my birth name is Damien, Son of the devil.

  • i love Amebix and there fans

drink and be merry or be depressed in winter.

no stupid arguments over anarchism, capatalism facism or religion.

fuck that and everything except individualism.

    No Gods No Masters.

  • I like The Baron's Mohawk type haircut more than when he has long hair, but that's just me. Either way, he's one of the best punk vocalists ever. I just love that snarl of his. : ]

  • autogestion

  • So very good!

  • very very post-punk one of their best songs placid indeed!

  • @Daka12s

post-punk? i think yu have no idea what you´re talking about.

  • @Mrfuckinyourmother lol yu? nice read what you type buddy. as matter of fact i do this song has a hint of post-punk beginning and end, middle picks up so shut up and enjoy the music and quit trying to show off how much you know musically you pretentious ass... fucking know it all! and FIY ive seen amebix live in austin!

  • @Daka12s yes i agree, the song does have a post punk feel at the beginning of the song.

  • one of my favorite songs. good shit wayavas.

  • Starts off weird, like the cure or something only much better. A brilliant song by one of the best bands ever. I don't know what all the race bullshit people have posted is all about. They should move if not happy with where they live.

  • Surprisingly like Joy Division.

  • End-of-the world type. We're all gonna die.

  • Amebix is fucking amazing!

  • im spanish if he told me that, id fucking bash his head into the concrete wit my brothers, you peice of shit no life motherfukr ill kill you.

aside that fag...this band has alot of emotions into everything they say, including the way thier music was played. LONG LIVE AMEBIX

  • Well, thats nice and violent, and the answer to violence is violence, because two wrongs always make a right.

  • Think about it, things only get done with violence or seem to rather, now Im intelligent but violence does seem to be the method of sorting shit nowadays

  • two wrongs don't make a right but two wrights make a plane.

  • to rights make a left

  • @stretchmillz101 two rights make a backward.

  • Starfish you fucking nazi scum white trash piece of shit go back to the shithole you've crawled out of and fuck off. I bet that u don't have the balls to tell those "niggers" and "spics" that live in your neighborhood what u think of them to their faces? You fucking computer nerd pussy

  • Fucking Nazi.

  • Fucking Nazi

  • Take your racist bullshit somewhere else.

  • dark song for dark people

  • we dont give a shit

  • by GAY you mean HAPPY right ?

  • 4:06 nice poster! The punk scene in the U.K. had really changed in the late 80's. It was still great though. Amebix, Electro Hippies, Extreme Noise Terror, Heresy, Ripcord, Doom, Napalm Death, Carcass. All great stuff.

  • Yeah, and nowadays the spirit is still here, amebix reformed and ourselves...we will never surrender!!

  • Those bands are great.

  • Yes, very! : ]

  • Comment removed

  • @TruemetalandpunkONLY yeah know yeare right about that I was a little one back then it was great and really violent too I miss the late 80z

  • def one of the best bands of all time in any genre

  • Long live Amebix! The most unique band alive.

  • Should we carry this farce on just as before? Or start living for life's sake, away from the ward?

    Love

    B.

  • 3:34 6/5*

  • just perfection! i love the urgency toward the end. this band definetely helped me survive my teenage years!

  • Absolutely Beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • If you can create a genre AND inspire one (grindcore), you know your a good band.

  • cool, theres a pic of electro hippies, fuckin amazing band, .. same with amebix ofcourse

  • haha i like how they're all skinny as fuck, obviously not some macho tough guy wankers

  • i'm naturally muscular

As a punk, trying too hard to be strong is a no-no.

You got it or you don't. What you don't have naturally you make up for with a good attitude towards things as fucked up as i have experienced, like schizophrenia, and drug addicted parents. Emotional strength is a bigger thing than physical.

  • Hahaha @ squatting. I can see the adventure of doing it once or twice, but you're not fooling anybody if you say you enjoy going weeks without showering or a decent meal. Society doesn't curtail to our individual ideals and petty demands, and it never has since the first humans walked the earth. Crust punk rebellion will never change anything.

  • individualist crust punk rebellion won't do anything. Crusties must "conform" to society, (or do a good job of pretending) then infiltrate it to change its direction. Take positions of power, influence communities, so on.

It's the only way, besides sitting and waiting, which accomplishes nothing.

  • ...Some people say that were twisted, you know its not true. We just get so bad when there's fuck all to do...

  • This is a wonderful noise.

  • haha nothing like a good taste of you tube community crust

go have your whos squatted where battles else where

  • Crust punk thrash metal mastery!

  • This is incredibly gorgeous!

  • I've squatted in desolate cities, this song fills me with that cold lonely feeling, society is inhuman.

  • Well the intro is good, but not what I was expecting to hear when clicking on Amebix, I was a bit taken aback at first of course,

    (???CLEAN VOCALS???)

    still very good though.

  • Amebix took inspiration from Motörhead (and to a lesser extent Lemmy-era Hawkwind), Black Sabbath, and Venom, combined with an ethos and worldview akin to Crass. They were also influenced by various post-punk and Gothic rock bands, including Public Image Ltd., Bauhaus, Joy Division, and especially Killing Joke.

  • the intro is the best!

  • i love amebix, this song reminds me on joy division!

  • I wonder what this song is about

  • It seems like it's about squatting.

  • Living in an asylum or squatting, pretty much the same methinks.

  • Yes, the lyrics says this is about squatting

  • have you no common knowledge?

  • no because im from the netherlands and 14 years old maybe?

  • WAT?!?!??!

  • wut wut

  • find a squat and go in then youll know

  • what is a squat

  • lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A squat would be an abanboned building turned into living space by homeless people. Squatting was a big part of crust punk back then, and still is. Whether or not squatting is a good idea is a completely different story, though.

  • Comment removed

  • When I said "whether or not it's a good idea is a completely different story", I was implying that squatting isn't the way to go. Squatting is mostly pointless lifestylism that has nothing to do with being an anarchist, but it can have positives.

  • Roses are red. sometimes violets are blue but we're always puking on cider

    and glue

People say that we're twisted, you know it's not true, we just get so bad

when there's fuck all to do

Life in this building is freezing and wet, if I once had a brain then I

    seem to forget

'Cos just when I caught it, it slipped through the net, now we sedate

ourselves slowly no time for regret

  • no this is sunshine ward

  • yeah me and my friend got in some silly argument about it..i told him it was sunshine ward and he said it was c.i.f.s. .it's right on the fuckin record! cheers!

  • nevermind! it just took like a minute. Usually when it does that circle thing it means it's never gonna load, but it evetually did. yay! haha

  • i can't get this video to work...

  • always a fav

  • the best amebix song

  • Rob Miller almost sounds like Robert Smith in this song. He has a great vocal range, sometimes sounding like Lemmy from Motorhead and Cronos from Venom.

  • wen he starts singing at 3:11 it sounds like bathory kinda

  • hehe yeah, they sound a little, but bathory is more guttural, this guy (baron) is more agressive

  • his vocal style is actually quite harsh

but I don't think it is comparable to bathory really

  • I respect your musical taste fella but Bathory no comparison, just a style of music in my opinion. Amebi represented, and still do, a world view that remains authentic to this day. Check out the rob miller (Baron) day the country dies clip on this sight, the man shows more insight into how to live a meaningful and beautiful life in 3 minutes than any politician or world leader ever has...as real as it gets.

  • i watched it and of course the points he makes are perfectly fine

but Bathory is a great band also

  • crust punk is influenced by bathory, venom, celtic frost, hellhammer, black sabbath, joy division, killing joke and other post-punk, hardcore and metal bands!

  • amazing

  • :) glad you enjoyed it

  • the flyers made me a stiffy.

fucked up times we live in

  • indeed brother, indeed

  • good vid, amebix are the best

  • :) glad you have liked the vide

  • This is the best song ever. Winter is the second best.

  • glad someone else thinks the same i do

  • Great video!

    AMEBIX, The undisputed, the undefeated

  • Thanks man

  • P.S; Rob Loved To Wind The Audience Up By Starting With Sunshine Ward So That The Audience Would Think That This Then Punk Bands Vocal Actually Sounded Like It Dose At The Beggining Of The Track. You'd Hear People Saying W.T.F!!Looking At Each Other Shrugging Their Shoulders And Then Relief When The Song Kicked Off! Classic.

  • I Remember The Punk Gigs In 1984 At Trinity Rd Church When Amebix Would Walk In. The People Would Stand Aside And Across The Crowd Of Various Coloured Spikes They Looked Impressive Both Rob & Christian (Aka: Baron & Stig)We're About 6ft5"Tall Towering Above Everyone,Proud As Fuck, Scarey And Sexy. Like Pinhead From Hellraiser And A Much Darker Edward Scissorhands But As Fucking Real As U Like!

  • i would have loved to be there! lucky you man

  • Awesome, a truly great band, not bothered about all the label discussions, Amebix sounded like Amebix, end of story. Authentic today as they were back in the day, and sadly missed by yours truly. Ta for posting.

  • seconded

    peace

  • uhhh what would you call disclose??? and a million other disclose rip off bands...

  • holy fuck

    its just music

    LOL

    shit

  • its allot more than just music

  • Still, though

    Just listen to it

and stop being so elitist about it by arguing about it

Not you, just a lot of people who have posted.

    Aha.

  • thanks for the comment

  • crust came out with the fuckin brew crew at free festivals, wankers generally

  • Well Crust Was Really Call Sludge

Cause Of Deviated Instinct And Hellbastrd At The Time They Were Thrash

But Hellbastrd Got Influnce By So Many Bands

That They Change There Style And They Came Out With Ripper Crust And People From There Called It Crust =]

  • Love the vocals at the end real punk right there =]] t
