You're not supposed to take these movies seriously guys! They're supposed to be action-packed, exciting, playful movies that kick ASS!!! And that's exactly what they do! this is the review that killed jeremy jahns for my cousin. for a while he thought jeremy was great, then he watched transformers 3 and hated it, and watched jeremy's review hoping to see a movie rant, only to make his opinion on jeremy go a full 180. cousin? what cousin?
I got into the first 15-20 minutes of the film and then Shia Labeouf came in and then it turned terrible for the remaining first hour but I did like the last hour and a half including the hour long climax with also the best 3D I have seen so far from a movie, but the ending was really abrupt.
If I was to rate the films out of five stars I would give:
If they somehow make a sequel, it better have Unicron in it and he could resurrect Megatron as Galvatron like in the animated movie and you could have more sequels. These movies get a lot of crap but they are what they are, robots beating the shit out of each other and on that note, these movies do deliver. You want story? Fuck that even the animated series had some stupid bullshit episodes as long as there are robots and they fight who gives a shit anymore!
The first was definitely the best out of three but the action sequences in the third were so intense that it made the first half worth it. I know people give Michael Bay a lot of heat for these movies' scripts but hey, he knows how to do action sequences especially in this movie. When shit gets real, IT GETS REAL. I accept these movies for the action because they never failed at that. Crack on Michael Bay all you want but do you really expect a movie based on toys to be any better than this?

@Arthus850 You made a good point there. I failed to consider the cartoon adaptations. A more appropriate question is do you really expect more from Michael Bay? He's one of the most hated directors out there and he's had essentially the same formula for every movie he's ever done so I don't understand how anyone can have high expectations for anything he does outside action. Bay either legitimately doesn't get how to do anything but action or he's a dick who doesn't want to improve.

@curtiscoyoteblue I wouldn't say it's official, but it is very, and I mean very, likely. hasbro is talking to paramount about a futur series, and one of the producers said that it will not be a reboot. however, shia lebouf has no interest in reprising his role saying that there is nothing more then can do with sam. and I have no probleme with that. give the role to lennox, epps or prime.
@curtiscoyoteblue plus, with megatron dead, I see this as an opportunity that something, hopefully unicron, will use he remains and creat galvatron. I've also heared that bay might not direct the next movie if there ever is one.
@Arthus850 I think bringing Megatron back AGAIN would would be overkill but if he were to become Galvatron, I guess it would make sense. It would just be weird if he was voiced by Leonard Limoy since he just played Sentinel Prime. Bay backing out wouldn't be a bad thing. I think after a trilogy is done the cast and crew should back out to bring a new vision to the franchise. I wish that would happen with the current Batman movies. I would be okay if it happened to these movies.

@Arthus850 I don't want the Batman movies to be rebooted I'm just saying since "The Dark Knight Rises" is Nolan's last Batman movie and Bale is also done, they should get a new guy to play Batman and a new director for the franchise. @TheBluePhoenix2 I beg to differ neither could act in my opinion and her character was annoying and useless the entire movie.The main difference that made me dislike her character was that she followed Sam around for the entire movie like a lost puppy even though all she did was put herself in danger. She really was of no use to anyone. At least Fox's character had a marginal amount of independence from Sam. So my beef is really with the character not the actor I guess.

I have to say, I thought TF3 was amazing from beginning to end. For a Bay flick, it had a surprising amount of storytelling and emotional appeal. I genuinely got caught up in a few of the scenes, and was able to identify at times with the characters. Those are two staples of good film making, and they were executed very well. Coming off the travesty that was TF2, I feel we, as fans, were vindicated.
Optimus was badass, the skyskrapper seen had me on the edge of my seat. when I thought Bumblebee was going to get blasted I was like fcuk this If they take him out Im gone.

These movies get a lot of crap but they are what they are, robots beating the shit out of each other and on that note, these movies do deliver. You want story? The first was definitely the best out of three but the action sequences in the third were so intense that it made the first half worth it. I know people give Michael Bay a lot of heat for these movies' scripts but hey, he knows how to do action sequences especially in this movie. When shit gets real, IT GETS REAL. I accept these movies for the action because they never failed at that. Crack on Michael Bay all you want but do you really expect a movie based on toys to be any better than this?

@Arthus850 You made a good point there. I failed to consider the cartoon adaptations. A more appropriate question is do you really expect more from Michael Bay? He's one of the most hated directors out there and he's had essentially the same formula for every movie he's ever done so I don't understand how anyone can have high expectations for anything he does outside action. Bay either legitimately doesn't get how to do anything but action or he's a dick who doesn't want to improve.

What else can be done after everything done in this movie? And you're right. Michael Bay is not the worst director out there and there were WAY worse movies that came out last year. There are also movies that continue to get sequels when they should've been done after the first one. People are just TOO critical of his work.

@curtiscoyoteblue I wouldn't say it's official, but it is very, and I mean very, likely. hasbro is talking to paramount about a futur series, and one of the producers said that it will not be a reboot. however, shia lebouf has no interest in reprising his role saying that there is nothing more then can do with sam. and I have no probleme with that. give the role to lennox, epps or prime.

@Arthus850 I think bringing Megatron back AGAIN would would be overkill but if he were to become Galvatron, I guess it would make sense. It would just be weird if he was voiced by Leonard Limoy since he just played Sentinel Prime. Bay backing out wouldn't be a bad thing. I think after a trilogy is done the cast and crew should back out to bring a new vision to the franchise. I wish that would happen with the current Batman movies. I would be okay if it happened to these movies.

@curtiscoyoteblue well they are talking about a futur trilogy that won't be a reboot, and they don't have to get leonard nimoy to voice galvatron. in G1 season 3 he was recast with Frank Welker toing an insane voice, and in the unicron trilogy, the voice didn't change after the upgrade. but what do you mean rebooting the batman movies? do you not like them?

@Arthus850 I don't want the Batman movies to be rebooted I'm just saying since "The Dark Knight Rises" is Nolan's last Batman movie and Bale is also done, they should get a new guy to play Batman and a new director for the franchise. I don't what the story to start over, I want it to continue. There is SO MUCH left to explore and the storyline can continue with a new cast and crew. The question is, who should they get to continue the franchise? Who should replace Bale and Nolan?

HAVE to disagree. This movie was just as big of a disapointment as the second was. No depth to any of the main characters i mean shia labeouf spends half the movie SCREAMING at the top of his lungs. Half the characters in this movie either where irrelevent or gave horrible performences either way should not have been in the movie. Not to mention Josh duhmmel gave some of the most laughable dialogue i have heard in a while. just all around a horrible movie

@TheBluePhoenix2 I beg to differ neither could act in my opinion and her character was annoying and useless the entire movie.The main difference that made me dislike her character was that she followed Sam around for the entire movie like a lost puppy even though all she did was put herself in danger. She really was of no use to anyone. At least Fox's character had a marginal amount of independence from Sam. So my beef is really with the character not the actor I guess.

I just watched it..
The only reason i'd watch it again is to point out all the stupid and corny scenes in the movie to my obsessed friend.
No good acting, a lot of forced stuff (death of Einstein Robot), the script was awefull.
But, not all is bad, the only thing this movie had going for it were the special effects, damn nice explosions.
That being said, I need a good script and a decent story in a movie, and it just didn't provide.

I have to say, I thought TF3 was amazing from beginning to end. For a Bay flick, it had a surprising amount of storytelling and emotional appeal. I genuinely got caught up in a few of the scenes, and was able to identify at times with the characters. Those are two staples of good film making, and they were executed very well. Coming off the travesty that was TF2, I feel we, as fans, were vindicated.
