@bubblevision I'm sure they will. They essentially just overlay the normal YouTube player, leaving pretty much everything intact with the original video. You could easily test it to find out for sure, though.
@reelseo That's the thing though, because in the past I've seen services that use the overlay interfere with ads which seem to be competing somehow for the same overlay. Metacafe was the worst, although I think the ads are working on there now, and JW Player also served YT videos without the ads in some cases. Just a thought and yes, it's testable.
interesting - havent thought of going overboard with any of these for my blog embeds -- what i really need is external links going from youtube to my blog
@coinoptv Yeah. Unfortunately, there's no way to do that except by putting links in the description text on YouTube. It works fine for people who are familiar with YouTube, but others may not think to look there or even know where to find them even if you point them there in the video. I think the new layout makes it a bit easier to find than the old layout, though.
Amazing I did not know that all of those tools were available to change the YouTube player. I am definitely interested in using the one that YouTube provides to edit the player.
Also, this is something I've been thinking a lot about lately. Maybe you could talk about it in a future video? I feel like YouTube is still very un-business-friendly. Just the fact that "Business" isn't even a category! I find it so hard to find relevant business channels to follow. I'd love to browse a list of business channels with most subscribers, for example. Do you think they're going to change anything in this regard?
@carmensognonvi Yeah, YouTube certainly isn't a business platform any more than any other social medium (except for maybe LinkedIn or something), although you can use it very successfully for business. I don't have a list of business channels, but I can look into it and see what I come up with. Thanks for the suggestion!
I had no idea there were so many tools out there to do this - thanks for the tips, Tim. Question: what would be the benefit of customizing the look/feel of the player, as per the last example. Just aesthetics? Or is there any kind of business/conversion goal you think?
@carmensognonvi Yeah, just aesthetics. You can make it look cleaner and more professional for a business website while still driving views to your YouTube videos.
@TheSuperBeautyGuru Honestly, I'm not sure. I've never used these enough to measure that kind of metric. You should try it and let us know! That would be valuable information to have.
Have you or will you be working with ProShow Gold...thinking of getting it for an upgrade to Photostory..would appreciate your insight or comments, thanks,
@MichaelWarbux Ahh, cool. Look in the description of our video, too. You'll see how I easily created "chapters" to each section of this video right in YouTube (although it's obviously not built-in to the player).
great videos, thanks so much!

Another great video Tim. I wonder if all these services leave the YouTube ads intact. An important consideration for YT partners.

@bubblevision Ahh yeah. I haven't tested them with ads, so I don't know. It would be interesting to hear if they interfere or not.
