I guide Bear hunting in Minnesota and can say that bear in general forage on a lot of the same foods as deer/moose and also will eat said deer/moose. hunting helps keep them in check and helps the deer/moose population..plus bear can taste alot like beef...who wouldn't want to eat it!

Should a beginner start with a crossbow or compound bow? To me the crossbow is easier to aim and shoot, but the compound bow seems faster for setting up a shot.

@PaintKyZR Okay, I'm guessing you eat meat. The meat you eat came from a cow lets say. This may not particularly apply to you but most commercial farms have very poor conditions for the animals they slaughter. They don't end up using all of the animal. Many parts are discarded. When hunting you can keep the meat, hide, and virtually everything as to not be wasteful. Now if one hunts just for game and does not utilize as much as possible that is when I also disagree with it.

But for a wild animal, that is the least painless way they will ever die, aside from getting shot in the noodle. You clearly don't understand the rules of hunting, headshots are hard as hell to pull off in a way that they actually kill, about 90% of headshots will leave the animal suffering much more than his shot did. Call of Duty does not equal fact child. Heart or lung shots are the only area you should aim if possible, no good hunter would aim for the head.

the season for bear is usually (in the US) extremely short (like a weekend) and is only allowed in a number counties, I live in KY so I can't speak for the other states, I don't know their hunting seasons

@PaintKyZR Okay, I'm guessing you eat meat. The meat you eat came from a cow lets say. This may not particularly apply to you but most commercial farms have very poor conditions for the animals they slaughter. They don't end up using all of the animal. Many parts are discarded. When hunting you can keep the meat, hide, and virtually everything as to not be wasteful. Now if one hunts just for game and does not utilize as much as possible that is when I also disagree with it.

But for a wild animal, that is the least painless way they will ever die, aside from getting shot in the noodle. And it sure beats the hell out of getting chomped at piece by piece by a pack of wolves for 3 days until they bring you down, or breaking a bone and starving to death over a period of weeks.

You clearly don't understand the rules of hunting, headshots are hard as hell to pull off in a way that they actually kill, about 90% of headshots will leave the animal suffering much more than his shot did. Call of Duty does not equal fact child. Heart or lung shots are the only area you should aim if possible, no good hunter would aim for the head.
