  • kool video

  • ヌル山かよ

  • These guys are the gangsters of groundwork arent they...

  • there different names for it, judo was even combined with other martial arts like sambo and wrestling, i just do muay thai and judo in mma

  • @comedian5264

make sure you practice hard on the reap and trips. Too many people practice on uchi-mata. Won't work well in MMA.

  • @comedian5264 sambo came from judo

  • 3:16 Nice kick, but that isn't judo.. lol

  • @Sigurdar Whatever works...

  • amaaaazing moves. opponents are thrown as rag-dolls lmao! awesome to watch!

  • i ♥ judo and judo ♥ me

  • wt name the song?

  • @chy3167 the trooper

  • @chy3167 The Trooper - iron maiden

  • Judo doesn't work without the gi my ass

  • 3:56 was amazing!

  • Paweł Nastula Kurwa!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i fuckin love this video

  • 2:12 Who are them?

  • at 3:55 that japanese judo dude is way to good, he got lifted in the air and throws the black guy on the ground, 2 times in a row, 2 times a ippon. JUDO for life!

  • @Garlox2 off course man, Yoshihiro Akiyama, one of the bests at it, at 3:57 epic reversal, same at 4:00.

  • @kevinzk71 too bad akiyama duznt use his judo anymore

  • @gr33ndestLny I saw in his last fight a lack of Judo but I dont know, if that is what he is doing, he is completely wrong.

  • Now Gracie JJ has become Bjj because the art is adapting to another set of rules same for the Olympic Judo.

On the outside it looks different because each school, each martial artist has different goals but its all Judo. Judo is like water, it will conform to the shape of whatever type of cup, pot, etc. you put it in.

  • Awesome compilation of throws. Judo really needs more of these guys to make it big to help the sport grow in the US.

  • Ignorant white people think wrestling is so great, but it is PRIMITIVE in comparison to Judo. Judo covers their 1 dimensional takedowns. ALSO, Greco-Roman Wrestling is NOT based on Greek and Roman wrestling, they wrestled differently. Greco-Roman is BASED on Folk entertainment wrestling in europe in the late 1800's. It is PRIMITIVE, PRIMITIVE, PRIMITIVE get over it . Judo is WAY more comprehensive and PREDATES Samurais. It actually originates in China, they call it Chin Na.

  • i love judo . judo is better than bjj

  • @krisnnaabraham no art is better than the other just the persons preference.

  • 1:15 a cocayukowasari IPPON

  • /,,/

  • i always bust my balls when I try to play this song on guitar hero...

    Cool ass vid though

  • Cool video. Thanks for posting.

  • judo sox

  • sumi gaeshi, +ju ji gatame at the end DONE :D!

  • Books on the history of Judo will tell you that Kano sent his people to Russia to teach them his art. Matter of fact, most Sambo schools in Russia are changing there name to Russian Judo schools. Even Fedor saids he does Judo now, he used to be a Sambo player.

History will be molded by the source. The fact is that Kano, the founder of Judo, and its group of moves, sent people all around the world to teach the gentle way. Some country's kept the name Judo, others changed it , Yodo, Sambo, BJJ.

  • Sambo is also mixed with traditional Russian grappling so it's alittle different, also I think there is strikes in Sambo as well.

  • @1jdthomas History is EXTREMELY molded in American media. Alexander "the great" wasn't that great the Mongol empire was 4 times larger than his empire. The "Dark Ages" weren't the "Dark Ages" it was the "Golden Age of Islam, where more technology was developed than the Greek and Roman times combined. Greek and Roman science is BASED on Mesopotamian technology. Mesopotamian scientist were renamed with Greek names. Christianity is MIDDLE EASTERN etc. etc. American Media is Eurocentric BULLSHIT.

  • @1jdthomas exctaly

  • @1jdthomas While mostly true isn't the main difference between Judo and BJJ that Judo is HOW to get a guy down with SOME ground work whereas BJJ is almost ALL ground work with SOME takedowns?

  • @Gregolian The main difference is the rules of each sport. Most if not all BJJ moves come from Judo, but the rules of Judo do not allow you to grind out for subs.

  • @1jdthomas Difference?

I think BJJ is Judo, Kodokan Judo Pre world war. The Gracies didnt invent anything, they took a different path with the Judo that they learned, fighting one on one in bare knuckle fights and with the experience they gained they adapted Judo for that situation. The Judo outside of Brazil became an Olympic sport with very specific rules and it was adapted for those rules.

  • @1jdthomas Actually, BJJ didn't really change the name. When it was taught to the Gracies, Kano's judo was still referred to as jiu-jitsu. They just didn't update the name to judo or weren't aware. As judoka like to say... BJJ: Basically Just Judo! ;)

  • @theshninja It is from Judo but dont forget Helio Gracie had modified it to fit his body and lack of strength and weight and worked on the ground part of it

  • BJJ modified a lot of Judo moves, but very few moves have been created by BJJ. One can argue that BJJ is more like a style of Judo, with the focus on Ne waza (ground work). Almost all the BJJ moves can be traced back to ancient Japan, in old , and some new Judo books.

  • Judo and Sambo are the thing. The Russians changed the name, so they could call it an original Russian martial art.

  • @1jdthomas Not true at all. Look up "the history of sambo". Sambo includes judo techniques but are more brothers than twins.

  • @RagingDemon89 I've seen students disrespect their instructors, its completely ignorant. People got their head up their asses. In a Dojang (Korean dojo), you are not allowed to swear, you suppose to act appropriately and civilized. A lot of MMA schools are breeding a bunch of ignorant jackasses. MMA SCHOOLS need an ORGANIZATION that regulates the schools.

MARTIAL ARTS can kill people, without a code of conduct, you are just a ignorant jackass.

  • I know what you are talking about Judo selling out to the Olympics. A lot of Tae Kwon Do schools sell out to the prestige of earning Tournament sparring medals. LUCKILY, my school did both, that is the BEST way to do things. I am sure though Judo schools don't completely sell themselves to Judo, because of the Philosophy that guides Judo. MMA Schools sometimes have NONE OF THIS, which gives a LIKELIHOOD of them teaching KIDS and Adults the WRONG MESSAGE.

  • I know a schools that semi sell out in TKD. I know some of Ernie Reyes Gyms sell out to Olympic Sparring. I've talked to some of their students and none of them know any traditional techniques (military Tae Kwon Do techniques, its origins in the Korean War) or PoomSaes. All the kids and adults are practicing ONLY sparring techniques. That is NOT Tae Kwon Do. They sold out to the Olympics.

Regardless, those schools that sell out to Olympics are still better than those MMA Schools.

  • What you don't realize dude anyways, Asians are more civilized. Westerners need to adapt our way of life which promotes a egoless society for mental stability. You can't constantly feed your ego.

This is century is considered the "Asian Century", if you don't know. Everything will become Asian, in honestly it is the best thing that can happen to this world. 20th is regarded American, 19th British. Prior to the 19th century everything was dominated by the Mongols (Mongol Centuries).

  • @youngstunna79 Hey if it's going to be a "my race is better than yours" than fuck you and your asian bull shit. You sound like a whiny little dick who cries about everything. Quit disrespecting wrestling but then again you're not real american.

  • @RagingDemon89 Ya, I like how white people have to IMPOSE stereotypes to . WHITE PEOPLE ARE GAY and INSECURE!!!!! Man, if u met me, you would not say that to my face. No one says racist shit to my face. white people ACT like they got a bigger dick, but they don't HAVE TE BALLS TO TALK SMACK IN PERSON! I'm just socially aware man. I KNOW white people WANT to say BULLSHIT about ASIANS so they can be SECURE about themselves and their race.

    ASIANS ARE SUPERIOR!!!!! LOL,

  • @RagingDemon89 ALSO, you want to go that route, WHITE PEOPLE ARE AWKWARD, PALE FAGGOTS!!!! LOL, ah man, I don't EVEN want to take a picture with too many white people, my soul literally dies within me. I don't hate white people, but white people ARE SWAGLESS FAGGOTS!!! white people are only COOL TO OTHER WHITE PEOPLE! LOL. NO ONE WANTS TO BE WHITE NOWADAYS, INFORMATION AGE, we know white people are FAGS NOW, LOL.

Hey man its a full moon tonight better get ur sun tanning lotion, LOL.

  • @RagingDemon89 PALEASS CRACKER LOL!!!! ALSO, the "my race is better than yours" shit is ALL OVER AMERICAN MEDIA!!!!! Just EQUALIZING IT BITCH with FACTS!

But seriously come on MMA is BASED on ASIAN MARTIAL ARTS. People are STEALING the ART and RENAMING IT AS THEIR OWN. APPRECIATE where it CAME FROM.

Some faggot white BOY always talks smack on the INTERNET. ITS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. So STFU, and stop crying like a bitch IF COUNTER THAT SHIT WITH ACTUAL FACTS.

  • @RagingDemon89 YOU CAN'T SAY THE MAJORITY OF WHITE AMERICANS are NOT RACIST. MAJORITY OF WHITE AMERICANS ARE RACIST!!! Republicans are GENERALLY RACIST, DESTROYING AMERICA.

RACIST white people DO NOT WANT TO REGARD, MEXICANS, BLACK, ASIANS as AMERICANS. WE ARE ALL HYPHENATED (Asian-American). HOW DOES THAT HELP AMERICA! How does it help america to PROMOTE ONLY ONE RACE in the MEDIA!!!

THE MEDIA AND THE REAL WORLD ARE 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. American MEDIA feeds AMERICA, EUROCENTRIC BULLSHIT!

  • @youngstunna79 You have mental problems. Whatever dude you're a psycho. Get a life other than checking inbox on youtube. You say all these insulting things about white people then you say "i like white people, But not the ones who are racist".. You're the one who brought up race?! Go ahead and respond 10x's like a lonely freak dude i'm not going to check it. You my friend are why abortions are necessary.

  • @RagingDemon89 LOL, whatever man, I don't NEED YOUR BIOGRAPHY. Just speaking the truth. I do like white people, I have many white friends, they like to DRINK and DO DRUGS, THEN talk shit about black people, LOL. IMAGINE, if BURNING MAN was ran by BLACK PEOPLE, that SHIT WOULD BE SHUT DOWN fuckin INSTANTLY. Double BULLSHIT STANDARD.

  • @RagingDemon89 Also, sorry man, if I offended you, we didn't have to go there. Just trying to make a point about the media being racist. It sounds tangential, but their is a correlation. Saying out of ignorance that wrestling is BETTER than Judo is a lie. Judo is CLEARLY more comprehensive takedowns and submissions. To IMPOSE wrestling as better by LYING to everyone won't help the world. white people want to express in UNDERTONES, dominance through made up facts.

  • @youngstunna79 Hey bro, no bad blood. Just difference of opinion.

  • @RagingDemon89 I KNOW white people displace all their insecurities onto all the different races in America, it creates a SENSE of immunity, but it is BULLSHIT. 400 YEARS OF RACISM IS ENOUGH! ITS TME FOR ASIANS to take over and STOP THAT BULLSHIT. Asians are WAY LESS EGOTISTICAL. We DON'T LIKE SHOWING OFF. I'm American that's why I'm an asshole. Regardless showing OFF is RUDE in ASIA. Its INDIVIDUALISM VS COLLECTIVISM. You ARE HAPPIER being egoless, because you have to CONSTANTLY FEED your ego.

  • To believe wrestling is more comprehensive than Judo is ignorant. PURELY IGNORANT and UNEDUCATED. This tells me the average person in America is IGNORANT and UNEDUCATED. Only 26% of the nation has a bachelor's degree. Asian Americans on average over 50% have a bachelor's. Education should be FREE in America.

EVERYONE should learn a Asian Martial Art. It teaches SELF CONTROL (Mental Stability) through confidence from Self Defense. The point is to NEVER use it, have fun only in the Ring.

  • Wrestling is much simpler than judo and seems like it is better, but in the long haul Judo is much more efficient than wrestling

  • Wrestling is NOT better than Judo. My personal reasons are 1 Wrestling is ONLY upper body brute strength, Judo uses all over the body and is technique based which uses less energy. 2 Wrestling cannot fight off their back, Judo has many locks and sweeps from their back. 3 Wrestling is a game where you pin the other person, Judo is born from the battle field techniques created by the Samurai for killing people. Slam them on the ground, and choke them to death. Wrestling is just hold them.

  • @GuamKomudo You've obviously never wrestled anybody decent or watched the sport. Wrestling is about technique, strength is merely a common denominator amongst competitors. As for 'upper body strength' a ton of wrestlers never even clinch, ankle picks and sweeps; no upper body strength needed. The fact of the matter is that wrestling has much more effective takedowns than Judo, especially when the individual lacks heavy clothing. No, wrestling isn't a complete combative style, but neither is Judo

  • I didn't mean there is ZERO technique, there is alot of technique, I have studied a TINY bit of wrestling and I like their takedowns and slams. But Judo honestly has all the takedowns wrestling does, just called different names, but it has them. By upper body strength, I mean you cannot use your legs to trip, or sweep the other person, you are not alowed to do throws like Osoto gari or Uchi mata because you have to sweep them with your leg. Judo is quite complete. clinch, throw, submit, win =)

  • @GuamKomudo You obviously have not studied any wrestling. There are no lat drops, sweeps, ankle pics etc. not to mention all the suplexes from freestyle and greco, in Judo. In addition, you most certainly can trip, sweep, and attack the legs; have you ever watched a collegiate wrestling match, or a freestyle match? Its only in greco that you can't attack the legs. Every takedown from Judo is allowed in freestyle and folkstyle; most are simply not effective.

  • Free style is different than just wresting, because i thought we were talking about like HS wrestling. I have nothing against wrestling,it obviously works or no one would use it for actual fighting in MMA. I think all the Judo throws are effective if done at the right moment and if you practice them over and over.

You just like wrestling better than Judo, and I like Judo better than wrestling,THAT is the real issue here lol

  • @GuamKomudo No it isn't, and high school and collegiate wrestling (folkstyle wrestling) allows any and all of the takedowns of freestyle, with the exception of some of the overhead suplexes (as slamming is against the rules in folkstyle); you most certainly can attack the legs. Many Judo throws are ineffective against wrestlers, simply because their stance is way too high, and a lot of the throws can be easily nullified without the gi.

  • Yes it is, you LIKE wrestling,so you think it's the best, and if you have a awesome wrestler VS a crappy Judoka, wrestling will win.Guy with 27 years of Judo is gonna own a guy whos wrestled for 2 weeks...Some takedowns of Judo use Gi because of the time Japanese clothes were like that, those throws were all made by the samurai in pre Judo time, it's called Jujitsu. Wrestling is good, but it's not better, both are equal. From my point of view, wrestling has no submissions, so it's not as complete

  • @GuamKomudo The 'No' was in reply to "freestyle if different than just wrestling". Your assertion that wrestling somehow has more limited takedowns than Judo, is complete nonsense, as both folkstyle and freestyle allow trips and attacks to the legs. Wrestling has far better takedowns than Judo; pit a collegiate wrestler against a 2nd Dan or higher Judo Blackbelt, and the judoka will be on his back 9/10. Oh, and catch wrestling and submission wrestling both have submissions.

  • So by wrestling what you're saying is any grappling system you want except if they're from Japan lol

  • @RebelWrestler45 Wrestling and Judo have more in common than they are different. If you knew anything about Judo, you'd know that belts don't mean shit, it's competition results and experience. Put any collegiate or Olympic wrestler against an Olympic level Judoka, and he'll have a tough time, period. That goes both ways. That whole 9/10 crap is nonsense, and can't be quantified. Catch Wrestling is a hybrid style that derived many of its subs from Judo/Jujutsu. Worthless comparison.

  • @wildchilde69 If the wrestler and judoka are both in gi, then yes, the wrestler will have a hard time; if they are both no gi, then the top tear collegiate or oly wrestler will crush the judoka. Of course its impossible to quantify a hypothetical situation; I merely used the ratio for illustrative purposes, and to give the judo some credit. Modern catch wrestling has subs from many martial arts (so does Judo being born of Japanese Jujutsu), but original catch wrestling had no asian influence.

  • @RebelWrestler45 If the wrestler and Judoka are both in a gi, wouldn't the wrestler get "crushed" going by your logic? Your bias is showing. If they are both nogi, the advantage is definitely to the wrestler, we agree there, but you'd be surprised that a top level Judoka may just be able to hold his own. There is more crossover than you apparently realize. Original catch wrestling did get asian influence around early 1900's, either way Judo's submission game at the time was more advanced.

  • @wildchilde69 A wrestler's stance and center of gravity is too low for many throws to work even in gi. At my last gi grappling tournament (I'm a seasoned no gi grappler, but a white belt in BJJ) I went up against 3rd dan judoka; after his failed uchi mata and harai goshi, a double leg to north-south choke put him away. There is no doubt that judo was miles ahead of catch wrestling during its early years as a submission art; but takedown prowess has and always will reside w/ wrestling

  • @RebelWrestler45 There are many throws or takedowns in Judo that specifically deal with a "wrestler's stance". You act like a Judo-ka has never had to deal with someone in a low crouching stance before. Well done on your last comp, but it by no means says anything about Judo or Wrestling...it was just you Vs another man. There are many instances where a Judoka has bested a Wrestler also, this video shows that already. I was at the Pan Pac's BJJ comp and saw that with my very own eyes.

  • @RebelWrestler45 In any case, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I'm clearly not going to change that...so let's just agree to disagree here. I think they are both great takedown arts that are more similar than they are different. They each have their strengths and weaknesses, and will benefit anyone's overall grappling or MMA game. Thank you for a mature and civil discussion dude. Good luck with your training.

  • @RebelWrestler45 Wrestling is PRIMITIVE compared to Judo. JUDO is WAY MORE COMPREHENSIVE. I know BASIC wrestling and I could takedown almost anyone in my MMA class. I use what I know only from taking HapKiDo for 10 years. Wrestling is SO SIMPLE and JUDO even covers single leg, double leg takedowns. JUDO is SUPERIOR to wrestling. ALSO, you are talking about 1 Judokan, what happens if you went up against BETTER quality Judokans and went up against MANY of them.

  • @youngstunna79 Not when it comes to takedowns; I too can take down everybody at my gym (how many 205+ pro fighters does your gym have?) but I'll get spanked by any NCAA collegiate wrestler. Modern Judo has adopted some takedowns from wrestling, albeit a small minority. Judo lacks Knee picks, ankle picks, sweep singles, most greco clinch throws, takedowns from front headlock, lat drops and more. Judo is simply not nearly as effective as wrestling without a gi. Go grapple an NCAA wrestler and see

  • LOL, I have professional fighters at my GYM. Wrestling IS BEYOND OVERRATED. You talk about Judo like you do it. If you took Judo, you would respect it. KARO PARISYAN MMA fighter, ADAPTED VERY WELL Judo in MMA without Gi. It is EXTREMELY UNDERRATED. Wrestling is also INCOMPLETE, it DOESN'T HAVE the SUBMISSIONS of JUDO. IT TAKES DECADES to MASTER. It takes 10 YEARS to gain a DEGREE on your black belt after.

IT IS PRIMITIVE. Wrestling is how u naturally engage someone even animal do it, LOL.

  • @youngstunna79 Where do you train? Name some of your pro fighters. My head coach Rick McCoy is a Judo and Sambo black belt; I do train Judo, I use uchi mata and harai goshi every now and then in grappling tournaments, but never against a seasoned wrestler. Karo ended up on his back against every good wrestler he fought; Sherk, GSP, Diego Sanchez etc; oh, and none of those guys wrestled in college. Wrestling isn't complete as a fighting style, but neither is Judo; wrestling just has the best td's

  • @RebelWrestler45 I trained in Fairtex and other schools. I've rolled with Jake Shields and wrestled with Gilbert Melendez (like I said, I got a single leg takedown with him BASIC KNOWLEDGE, Just Like Him, He needs Judo same with Shields). ALSO, inside note, Jake Shields will LOSE against George St. Pierre. I've seen that guys stand up it is REALLY BAD, it looks like it improved a little, but it is NOT on the same level as George St. Pierre. He is probably the best BJJ guy, but HE WILL LOSE.

  • @RebelWrestler45 Judo is an ASSET and you should learn it. Watch Karo Parisyan's highlights. Parisyan's KNOWLEDGE of Judo is what kept him competitive against more skilled fighters. You are LOSING OUT if you are not learning Judo.Adapt a Gi less style like him.I use to see Shields and Melendez everyday. They BOTH need Judo. GSP learns Judo because he is a TRUE MARTIAL ARTIST.There are 2 types of people in the UFC, Martial Artists (Regard it as a way of life) and Fighters (Regard MMA as a sport).

  • @youngstunna79 Even I as a judoka train wrestling. Your example of karo Parisyan doesn't really help. Karo has trained in sambo, and various forms of wrestling including catch wrestling. Wrestling is not primitive. It is the best method of controling your opponent, conditioning, and mental toughness. Like I said I train judo but only to improve my wrestling. I don't compete because the rules of gripping are just bull shit. I could care less about the no leg grabs. But we just cant fight anymore.

  • @RagingDemon89 What is WORSE is that there is no CODE OF CONDUCT in MANY MMA SCHOOLS that I visit. They are EXTREMELY RUDE MEATHEADS. The MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ASIAN MARTIAL ARTS is RESPECT. RESPECT IS HIGHLY VALUED IN ALL ASIAN NATIONS. You RESPECT your opponent, enemy, other students.

It is DISGUSTING to be in many MMA schools that I worked out in. They DO NOT RESPECT where the art CAME FROM and WHAT it TRULY REPRESENTS, SELF CONTROL THROUGH LEARNING SELF DEFENSE.

  • @youngstunna79 Okay I will agree with you 100% there. MMA schools are creating pieces of shit douch bags. There is no respect and it's always a dick measuring contest. They watch NEVER BACK DOWN and the UFC and think they're tough. I prefer Daido Juku then mma. Combat sambo than mma. I agree. I would never defend a mma gym. But I wish Judo were more focused on sel defense than the sport but I'm satisfied with it as long as i can ogoshi.

  • @RagingDemon89 LOL, I like how you counter my "Asians are more civilized" as racist and then make racist REMARKS, LOL. Ah man, white people are FREAKIN IGNORANT. You know WHY white people are IGNORANT. I noticed WHITE PEOPLE hang out ONLY WITH THEIR PEOPLE. They don't kick it with OTHER RACES. They are SCARED FEARFUL of other PEOPLE. This FEAR turns into RACISM out of IGNORANCE.

This FEAR turns into RACISM out of IGNORANCE.

  • @RagingDemon89 Anyway, I'm not racist, just stating facts anyways. The fact is Asian DO things better. I KNOW white people are INSECURE, because they are RACIST. Racism COMES OUT OF INSECURITY. ASIANS DO SOMETHINGS BETTER, BLACK PEOPLE SOME THINGS BETTER, LATINOS ETC. We need to COMBINE the cultures to create ONE GREAT (world) CULTURE.

ASIANS DO NOT PROMOTE RACISM. Its in BUDDHISM. I like white people, BUT the ones WHO ARE NOT RACIST. APPRECIATE OTHER CULTURES that ALL I GOT TO SAY.

  • LOL, buddy, George St. Pierre LOVES JUDO, he is a the TRUE CONCEPT of a Martial Artist, but if you think about it because of that GSP is pretty Asian. SO MANY FREAKIN MEATHEADS, SO TIRED OF IT. MMA SCHOOLS are treating MARTIAL ARTS as a SPORT more than a Philosophy of life, how to help yourself. MARTIAL ARTS is ABOUT NEVER USING IT, ONLY WHEN IT IS NECESSARY. That WANTING to use it EVERYWHERE U GO!!!!!

The SPIRIT of Martial arts has been TAINTED by ignorant MEATHEADS running MMA SCHOOLS!!!!

  • LOL, STFU about GOD DAMN WRESTLING. IT IS EXTREMELY ONE-DIMENSIONAL. It is LIKE a WHITE BELT EDITION OF JUDO and ONLY an EMPHASIS on WHITE BELT TECHNIQUES.

IT TAKES 10 YEARS to earn an EXTRA DEGREE in Judo after the 6th DEGREE. The MASTERY LEVEL is FAR GREATER IN JUDO.

MENTAL TOUGHNESS MY ASS. YA ITS CALLED MEATHEADEDNESS, IGNORANT WHITE PEOPLE WANTING TO USE WHAT THEY LEARN AS SELF DEFENSE TO MESS WITH PEOPLE. NO CREED, NO CODE OF CONDUCT.

  • @youngstunna79 Judo is an art that is effective only to the indivdual and how he looks at it. You can focus on it as a martial art, a sport, or a supplemental training tool. But wrestling is wrestling. He's trained no matter what to be in your face the whole time, toe to toe. ANd what to the judokas who only regard judo as a sport and not a martial art?

  • @RebelWrestler45 ALSO, even then with a Gi it EMULATES people wearing regular clothes. People don't wear SPANDEX everyday. You REALLY believe a wrestler will win MAJORITY of the time on the streets against a Judokan with knowledge of SUBMISSIONS?

It takes 10 YEARS to advance a degree on your black belt after the 6th degree. JUDO BY FACT is MORE COMPREHENSIVE. YOU ARE IN DENIAL. RATIONALIZING an ART you DON'T PRACTICE.

JUDO ALREADY covers practically ALL of Wrestling, it is MORE COMPREHENSIVE.

  • @youngstunna79 People don't wear unzipped heavy jackets everyday; the gi doesn't simulate regular clothes, unless you live in feudal Japan. I didn't say a wrestler would beat a Judoka in a fight; I said that the wrestler will take down the Judoka given equal levels of proficiency. I do practice Judo; it is for that very reason that I know its limits and shortcomings; Judo covers a small portion of wrestling, and its takedowns are limited. You need to wrestle someone with NCAA pedigree.

  • @RebelWrestler45 ALSO, so you are telling me only people with NCAA pedigree will be effective, LOL. So the only good wrestlers were in the NCAA. Judo goes AWAY from that requirement. IT is KNOWLEDGE and technique for ANYONE to be good at it. The advantage is KNOWLEDGE, not strength. LOL, you talk about Gis, I am sure u NEVER worn one. How does SPANDEX emulate REGULAR CLOTHES!!!! You are BEYOND BIASED and have trouble RATIONALIZING wrestling to be more comprehensive and better than Judo.

  • Wrestling is FOR ANIMALS. How PEOPLE and animals would NATURALLY engage each other in a fight. How is that sophisticated. I wrestle a lot, it is primitive. 1 leg, 2 leg takedowns, that's it. I can throw them more easily because I learned HapKiDo (Korean Jujitsu).

HOW ABOUT THE FACT, WRESTLING HAS NO ARMBARS, TRIANGLE CHOKES, REAL SUBMISSION MOVES!!! ANSWER THIS QUESTION. Wrestling is ONE DIMENSIONAL AND PRIMITIVE. STOP LYING TO YOURSELF and rationalizing.

  • @youngstunna79 If you think wrestling is limited to single leg and double leg shots, you wouldn't survive in low level high school competition. Throwing a collegiate wrestler is nigh impossible; Greco has some of the best upper body throws out there, and most of them cannot be implemented in more comprehensive styles of wrestling (folk and freestyle), because of the effectiveness of the aforesaid styles. Wrestling is one dimensional, it has the very best takedowns and control establishment.

  • @RebelWrestler45 History is MOLDED in American media.

  • @RebelWrestler45 Buddy, WRESTLING SUCKS COMPARED TO JUDO. There are also DIFFERENT goals in wrestling competition, what I am TOLD is to cradle in a wrestling competition. How is CRADLING (fetus position) suppose to be EFFECTIVE. You are EXTREMELY biased with VERY little knowledge of other SUPERIOR arts. Wrestling is PRIMITIVE, Judo is VERY COMPREHENSIVE takes decades to master. Mitsuyo Maeda had 2000 fights, found many wrestlers, they would lose, WRESTLING has NO SUBMISSION techniques.

  • @RebelWrestler45 Dude i hear you. I train primarily judo but wrestle from time to time. And i can't say it's easy. But in judo although many frown upon it I try to wrestle as much as i can. I do alot of side latterals, head and arms, and suplexs. But a lot of those assholes are traditionalists. They see you doing that they complain to your coach and then you"re "advised" to try other things to show off instead of win. Wrestlig kicks ass judo is second if i had to choose though. No turkish style

  • @RebelWrestler45 And the aggressivness of wrestling is second to none. Constant pressure and full force attacks are way better than just pull here tug there and stall here so i dont have to fight on the ground. It looks like a cat figt.

  • who was in 1:16 ?

  • I guess it's only the "Gentle Way" until someone follows it up with a fist to your face, LoL. In the future I wanna get into doing mma, and I want Judo to be my foundation, followed by Muay Thai. So much clinching goes on in MMA (and any fight irl really), and alot of fighters learn how to defend wrestling well, but the sweeps and throws Judo has are amazing, not to mention people VASTLY underestimate how much a good Judo throw hurts and knocks the wind out of you. It's viscious in it's Gentleness

  • @Owntmeal1313 wish you best of luck mate.

  • iRON MAIDEN Õ/+JUDÔ Õ/

  • las mma son las mejores

  • JUDO a great art!

Util para la vida el camino de la suavidad, no tan suave.!!!!

  • what's the last fight??

  • @gonzalojudovm Yoshihiro Akiyama v. Melvin Manhoef.

  • In a few years after college I'm going to learn Judo in Okinawa =)

I'm doing BJJ right now, that's fun!!! But I wanna learn Judo as well!!! =D

  • Akiyama fighting with a gi on and his opponents still can't get wrist control lol.

  • (3:55 - 4:10) Is Perfect!

  • Judo has NOTHING to envy to BJJ!!!

  • @Ryokushindo BJJ = Judo. When Gracie created his style ppl in Brasil kept calling it Jiu Jutsu in error. So to avoid confusion Gracie just changed the name to Jiu Jutsu, since that's what ppl in their pop culture kept calling it anyway. IMHO as an outsider, I think Gracies are teaching their personal strategies more so than a new style. U know, things like were to put the hand, were to put the foot or what to do in various situations on the ground. That's a strategy, not a style.

  • @osensei2987 Japanese Judoka Mitsuyo Maeda trained Carlos Gracie in Kodokan Judo when Maeda came to Brazil. Maeda already called his style "Kano Jiu Jitsu" after Judo founder Jigoro Kano to avoid confusion because westerners didn't distinguish the difference between Judo and Jujutsu at the time, and they also didn't know the spelling. "Jiu Jitsu" is how westerners thought it sounded, but it is really spelled "Jujutsu"(art of yielding). Helio Gracie then called his style "Gracie Jiu Jitsu."

  • up the maidens from ny

  • Judo rules. Questions?

  • @Agnostic72 is it true u cant do double legs any more

  • @krysistheabyss well in the new judo competition rules, u cant but, ufc, still can

  • i just love how the judo throws are so subtle and skillful and cost almost no energy opposed to the pure strenght throws

  • Judo for ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the end of this video :P 4:10

  • at 2:13 th guy was bleeding to death -.-

  • can give a fighter name besides akiyama and yoshida??

  • I had figured out, that in real situation or in cage, whatever only these martial arts are realy useful: boxing, judo, combat sambo, wrestling-pankration and BJJ cause the fight always starts with boxing cause hands are more faster than legs are, and finally you throw your opponent down with judo or some other martial arts and get to the ground. Remeber : only the simply techniques are effective, the simple martial arts works in real situation, that is what Bruce Lee always told.

  • @MAJO299793

yes, but bruce lee had such quick feet that he could side kick you patella. thus, he didnt nescessarily need boxing. nothing certainly starts with anything in fighting. trust me. most of gsp`s fights start on the ground since he is such a great wrestler.

  • @MAJO299793 don't forget muay thai

  • @MAJO299793 hands are faster than feet, tell that to a professional TKD fighter (watch Taekwondo WTF knockouts)

  • judo is tha fucing shit not MMA

  • Judo slams should be way more points in MMA, because off the matt, you would at the LEAST be to hurt to continue fighting, if not dead... This video was a PERFECT example of what Judo is, I love seeing tiny Asian guys slam some HUGE dude on the ground xD Yay for being a tiny Asian person =) But I only know Jujitsu =(

  • @GuamKomudo Your statement is sound. Solid comment.. thx..,

  • JUDO IS BEST

  • JUDO THE BEST!!!!

  • that leg trip at about 1:25 almost made me cream my pants

  • AWESOME VID i like how u showed the throws and the grappling aspect of judo. witch a lot of people don't know about.

  • judo is anaconda

  • This is great!!!! Awesome job!

  • This is for Andrew & Tim !!

  • personne ne peux battre un judoka

  • judo is the trooper

  • thumbs up if you like the American flag panties 2:40 !!!!

  • I C different throws...thats cool! But how many of these Judo guys wins the fight?? Is there any Judo guy fighting in the Top 10 of MMA?

  • @minasz Fedor??????????

  • @grahamhg Fedor is Sambo!!!!

  • @minasz Sambo is like a mixed martial art in its self. I has judo techniques.

  • @natureboypkr Yes Sambo is a grapplin art who also is trained by spetznas. Its an art thats very agressive. Its focusses on locking. One of their favorates is locking the foot or leg.

  • @minasz He also does Judo. In fact i'd say he grapples more like a Judoka than a Samboist. Anyway Sambo is 80% Judo with the leglocks and grips from siberian wrestling and striking from Russian draka. Judo and Sambo are considered the same thing in Russia btw.

  • @minasz Yeah bro there are guys in the Top 10 of MMA that are Judo practitioners. Judo may not be their bread and butter style but they do train it.........Machida, GSP, and BJ Penn just to name a few. Remember it's not the style, it's the practitioner......cheers

  • @natureboypkr Hee Bro. Nothing against adding judo to a striker style. Its not only about the fighter who wins fights. Its a big part yes. But its also about being allround. I dont believe in one style as it says in this clip. Only Judo wont bring you nowhere against tough guys. Train serieus boxing, Throwing good strong combinations and mobility next the Judo training..then it will get you some where. Cheers mate!

  • @minasz I agree with you. It's awesome to see someone who knows what they are talking about on here.....

  • @natureboypkr Nice to hear that. Yes I try to look further and think objective instead of being a fan of one art. I dont believe in one style, but all styles have some truth, but also a lot of garbage. Thats cuz the human kept adding bullshit and changing the original and wanting to look good in training. But in reality most of BS doenst work. Thanks again mate. I not only train different arts but also like to study different arts. Cheers mate!

  • @minasz It's too bad that many fighters don't have your attitude towards fighting. You have all of these guys who join these MMA schools and develop the attitude that they can just beat anyone's ass because they've learned a bit of Muay Thai and BJJ. Most of those guy never develop in to good fighter because they are "a jack a many trades, but a master of nothing".... I'm always a traditional martial artist before I'm a MMA fighter.

  • @natureboypkr So if you look at pure Judo guys that came from Judo. There is what I think no Judo champions in MMA. I could be wrong. But then give me the name. And Fedor is more Sambo then Judo. Judo is next to his sambo. And this video shows not only Judo, but also grapplin from different styles.

  • Judo rocks!

  • no gi judo is wonderfull too

  • who was that man at the end in the old photo?

  • Judo best wrestling sport in the world

  • judo.. the best self defence sport ever... no sport can win from jud... NO ONE!!!

  • Judo came from Jujutsu when its founder decided to make a martial art that didn't rely purely on strenght, because there is bound to be someone out there stronger than you. As it evolved, Judo started to focus mainly on throws and leg sweeps while Jujutsu focuses on groundwork. Judo fighters are in my opinion in great disadvantage in mma fight
