  • Heart touching Bhajan which goes deep inside. Great Voice n music.

  • @Nejiboud: But why should anyone except those with an ulterior motive be bringing up 1984 in this forum, which is only a tribute to Jagjit Singh?

  • @dennisdey

Of course I have a motive. My motive is to save Sikhism from RSS and other Hindu fundamentalists who are trying to get Sikhs to start drinking cow piss and worshiping monkeys and elephants.

  • deenan dukh haran dev santan hitakaari

  • rest in peace, a stalwart passes away

  • A Sikh man lovingly singing Hindu hymns, and not a single Hindu has yet been punished by the Indian government for the 1984 massacre of Sikhs.

  • @Nejiboud : India's Prime Minster and all the most important Secretaries in the Govt are Sikhs, including our favorite Montek Singh Ahluwalia Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Government of India, who is actually the most important person in the Government. Also 20% of the Armed Forces is Sikh. And no matter how much "Sikhs" deny it, the Guru Granth enshrines the names of many of the Hindu deities. In the early times, the eldest-born son of all Hindus in the Punjab was made a Sikh.

  • @dennisdey

So what? In America, there are blacks in all kinds of prominent positions, but it'll be stupid to think that that should mean that racism is over. As for names of Hindu deities in the Sikh scriptures, of course they are there, because those are the names of gods that the local population would have readily understood. It also calls god Allah, Rahim, Parwardigar, etc., does that mean that Sikhs are Muslim? Sikh gurus rejected the Vedas, and that alone makes them distinct.

  • @Nejiboud Sorry, pal: Like all religions that have their origin in traditions of the Vedas, Sikhs believe in (1) One supreme Being whom Sikhs call Ek-Onkar and Hindus call Brahman (2) REBIRTH, which none of the Abrahamic religions believe in (3) The Law of Karma (which follows from rebirth & reincarnation.

  • @dennisdey

So what? Christianity, Judaism, and Islam have so much in common, they worship the same God in fact. Does that mean that all three are the same religion? Sikhism rejects Vedas and all Hindu scriptures, rejects the entire Hindu pantheon, idol worship, cow piss drinking, animal, plants, trees, mountain, river worship, rejects fasting, rejects the evil caste system, rejects offering prasad to gods, etc., etc., etc. Now go drink some cow piss.

  • Wonderful, soulful Bhajan! Namaskaar to Bhagavaan Soordasji and Pandit Jagjit Singhji! This sounds like like it is in the raaga Bhinna Shadj. Is it really in that raag?

  • @dkmkartha Yes, itis Bhinna Shadaj.

  • @dkmkartha Yes it is.

  • @umeshpersad In the Antara, though, he uses Pa, which is not there in Bhinna Shadj. Could it be Hemant, which uses the Bhinna Shadja ascent and in the descent uses both Pa and Re. But in this song, there is no Re. Thanks

  • @dkmkartha Interesting ... I am not familiar with Raga Hemant. Of course with Bhajans, the composition might not be sticking exactly to the raga and the rules may be broken in certain places. In any event, it is a wonderful composition.

  • @umeshpersad Thank you. I listened to your Bhajan in Bhairavee. Superb! You are a fantastic singer and great Bhakta. May the Divine Heart bless you and your music. Mohan Kartha (DKM Kartha)

  • Got to perform this amazing song in front of live audience , it's really amazing.
