@TheThrasheralex in the sign of evil album was recorded 1984... first songs and stuff... in 2007 (the final sign of evil) they re-recorded the whole album and another songs that weren't recorded back those days.
@mujuma attention dumbass: opinions work BOTH ways. that means i am allowed to state my OPINION about why i think your opinion fucking sucks. i'll say it again; your taste in music sucks. everything sodom has released has been good to excellent. why don't you go back to listening to your shitty mallcore bands and let real metalheads appreciate legandary bands like sodom. oh, and i don't have to accept anything. if i don't like what you say i have every right to reply so fuck off.
@mujuma first off, i aplogize for the name caling and accusing you of listening to mallcore. as a matter of fact, i checked your channel and you listen to almost all the same bands as me. i like every metal subgenre with the exception of nu metal and everything ending in core(except grindcore). i also love classic hard rock like led zeppelin, rush, kiss, ac/dc etc.
@thrashblackdeath666 In my opinion, they stand out due to their vocalist, Travis. I'm not as pleased with his recent vocal work, it sounds so much better double-layered with his lows and highs.
Cynic are the Pink Floyd of Metal, imo.
Starting off as Death/Thrash Metal, to Technical Jazz Fusion Death Metal to Progressive Metal/Ambient, normally I dislike that but damn they do it good.
@gynecrologist actually i always thought something similar. and you might be onto something. for one hes obviously starting "shrill cries" with a k and ending with a T. and at 2:10 he mutters "jesus christ" right after the chorus.
Shit man I remember this record in 1984 glad someone revised this music and resurrect it to it's supreme old school and still ahead of all the crap metal thats out there... Mega Cheerz !!!
We covered this song in late 2001' in my band KHAN, after getting sick and disgusted with the whole punk movement and began playing more extreme. Sodom have always been great, been listening to them since 6th grade. That was so long ago now, hah.
Early Sodom is so freakin evil and heavy! In The Sign Of EVIL=one of the best black thrash metal albums ever produced! It kind of reminds me of Bathory's early stuff.
@ebonics4everyone Lol! Well, considering the fact that Sodomy is what you said it is, and the fact that coffee makes you crap, the one committing the Sodomy is going to be in deep shit! Lol! Pun intended.
I have found out that Chris Barnes (ex Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under),back in the 1987,has been trying to imitate Angelripper's vocals. Could you imagine it?
@Jankovic2141 That's sort of true, early Corpse had Barnes using more normal vocals with shrieks, which weren't too bad if I say so myself. Though it wasn't as much of an imitation of Tom than more just how his voice sounded anyway, he vocals were really young at the time.
I don't believe you metalheads these days. I been into this shit since 1982. Black metal, speedmetal, death metal, thrash it's all the same shit. EVIL. But if you want to argue about it, Venoms 1981 album was called BLACK METAL. So that settles it. The guys who came up w/ the 'name' define the genre. Venom obviously influenced Hellhammer, Sodom(love this song by the way, especially the intro, thanx for posting)Slayer,Metallica & everyone else w/ sheer power, intensity and lyrical depravity.
@northblooduchc Yeah! I bought Black Metal in 1982. Venom was one of my favorite bands then. I still have that album and i still think it is one of the best albums ever. Especially side A! Love it from the beginning to the end.
@northblooduchc Well of course, Venom influenced everybody in the early 80's, they still influence almost every new thrash/death metal band now.. who said otherwise?
I agree. There are NO metal-heads these days. Unless they were born in the 70s. Music is so watered-down these days to have your musical tastes tempered with what we grew up with. Especially since screens(TV and Iphones) weren't important for us to have fun. Also we didn't have teachers and parents telling us that everything we did was great and special. We had our music, our hair, our guitars, and our cars.
@northblooduchc I've heard about the new bm fans arguing that Venom isn't real Black metal, i find that irritating at the most that they claim only Mayhem and Norway made real Black metal and deny that Venom doesn't sound like them so they are not. They coined the term so it's theirs. This right here is a classic thrash album here.
And the Singing on these Blackened-Thrash Albums like this and Kreator's Endless Pain and Pleasure to Kill sound much better then any Black Metal Band I've heard...

@thrashblackdeath666 *claps* your learning.
Yes, you're right, but the way your going on about it is sad.
Sucks? it seems we both enjoy Thrash Metal, and judging by your name I assume Death and Black metal aswell.
Mallcore? I've never enjoyed it, at least get your facts right before insulting me.
So, judging by your comment, "real" Metalheads are narcissistic, ignorant, and close-minded. Well great, lucky I ain't one!
You've actually got a lot of great Music on your channel.

And I may not listen to Black Metal, it's because the Black Metal Bands I've heard suck...
The only good Black Metal wasen't even Black Metal really, it just had the Black Metal feel to it... Like early Destruction, Sodom and Kreator...
Venom, where called a Black Metal Band for their Sound and Lyrics, though they didn't really have the normal Black Metal Vocals.
