God I hate the Enterprise theme. TNG > DS9 in terms of the show, but not by much. However, I think Voyager has the best intro for sure.

Grew up on the reruns of the originals,fell in love with it with TNG, DS9

had everything I could ask for, Voyager was most unique, Enterprise was at first not my thing, but as the series went on I begin to like it more and more. Happy 45th Anniversary Star Trek, and thank you to Gene Roddenberry for all the years of entertainment.

IMO the Enterprise theme is awesome. At first, I wasn't that keen, but when you watch the show, which is WAY UNDERATED, you get to like it, and it is different, trying something new, and really stands to show the long struggle and exploration of the Human race into reaching a higher, more advanced culture. Without Johnathan Archer and the eager people, ready to explore the unknown and advance as a race in the 22nd century, there wouldn't be a TOS/TNG/DS9/VOY or movies.

@JD17555Jess You're joking right? TNG wins hands down. And it's the Trek show with the best TV ratings. Its ratings went higher and higher whereas all the others got lower and lower (hence TOS and ENT were cancelled earlier than planned, and DS9/VOY had to introduce wars/sexy Borg babe respectively to halt falling ratings). Oh and it had the finest actor of them all as its leading man!

To be honest i never liked the star trek openings. They were all the same apart from deep space 9 and enterprise. As others have said, enteprice intro is just weird. It does not fit star trek, its like it shows the past instead of the present.

@au25 TNG was supposed to be the same as TOS. TNG means "The Next Generation," so paying homage to the older series is what it was meant to do. As far as similarity, I don't have a problem with it. It lets you know that it's Star Trek and nothing else.

I can see why Enterprise is the black sheep... That intro music, while Somewhat Appropriate.... Definitely doesn't feel like Star Trek...

Plus We've created a time Paradox, showing the Space Shuttle Enterprise, which was named after the Star Ship, Enterprise from TOS, which is being featured in an Intro to a Star Trek Show, which takes place before Said Enterprise was even built.

I think the shows should have been able to state their mission's purpose as an homage to the other Star Trek shows.

@Shadowwand not that I know that much about Startrek, but from that - I would assume that Enterprise takes place in that altered timeline where that space shuttle exists if that truly is the case. The only thing paradox about it all is whether or not any of the ships would be called "Enterprise" were it not for that event.

A greater paradox is when Voyager was sent to the past and essentially started the computer revolution if i remember correctly... fuck names, this is tech we're talking about

1. TNG; First series I ever saw. Wins out over DS9 because John DeLancie was such a marvelous Q!

2. DS9; Not sure what other people have against DS9, but it had lots of ships blowing up and recurring characters that I really liked (Weyoun, Garak, Damar, Dukat..)

3. Voyager; It had many good moments, but the cast got on my nerves consistently..

4. TOS; outdated but still quite nice.

5. Enterprise; it simply does not belong..

DS9 is generally more liked than Voyager, especially by critics. Voyager was maligned throughout its run for several reasons- particularly the lack of continuity and the staleness of its stories.

DS9 theme is my favorite! Love the horns! Voyager is a close second, though. Then, TNG and TOS. Enterprise's theme is kinda lame. I would have preferred if they had used the end credits theme as the main theme.

Interesting. The Star Trek themes illustrate well the life of the franchise as a whole. The TOS theme symbolizes the first steps into a new original sci-fi concept, the TNG theme is the great comeback,the DS9 inspires confidence and builds on TNG's momentum. Then the Voyager theme is when things start to decline. Lack of fresh ideas go hand-in-hand with a timid, non-inventive theme. Then of course the Enterprise theme expresses Star Trek's last stand, and sadness at the prospect imminent death.

in my opinion voyager is one of the most inventive of the series being that it took place in the delta quadrant and it was the first woman captain that we have ever seen. i think they had a harmonious mix of time honored star trek culture and new ideas. also i think in voyager the characters were the most emotionally developed of all the series and catered perfectly to its fan base. however i agree with you on the latest attempt to revive star trek...enterprise really flushed it down the toilet.
