please who says u need to be arab to be good at belly dance. Don't be so harsh, she's jsut starting out. Arabs just see bellydance much more they get glimpses of it since they are little, but I'm sure if an arab grew up somewhere different, she wouldn't necessarily dance better than anyone else! So really u can't compare an arab lady to this young dancer, because arab girls have experience before they even start bellydancing.

@MissManiacTheMad It's yes and no lady. we have a proverbe that says no one is borne to know how to do things very well. it's ony practice that makes your performance different from another person.In other words,I'm not too harsh with her and just teaching that lady,who did well so far; to upgrade her performance to a higher scall and believe me,I've seen a man dancing better that a lot of ladies...lol see this watch?v=kRLn5P1N4Y8

An artist can do 100 pieces before one is created that the artist is happy with, yet others will love all the pieces. Belly dancing is art in motion. The first one is always the hardest and you did a great job. The important thing to remember is why you do it and enjoy every second of it. Improvement comes from practice and experience so don't beat yourself up over things that "most likely" only you notice... Keep it up, never stop what you enjoy!

I danced for the first time at my high school talent show && although ppl liked it, when i look back, i know i did poorly LOL Now i know i have more potential in belly dancing. && i want to take classes to improve! Hi, The song is called "Halili" featuring Zaho. There are two versions of it out there but this is the one in French and Arabic with Zaho. I like this version the best.

And yes, I was VERY nervous! I only really started to relax at the end of the song. This was my first performance and I was following professionals. Good experience though, I learned a lot.

So I finally figured out why this video seems a bit off with my movements in the beginning but then is normal towards the end: The video didn't sinc the sound and video! My camcorder sux, will post new videos from performances very soon! With clearer, better video & sound!

Cheb Mami is one of my favourite singers. I chose this song b/c I love the melodic vocals, Zaho and Mami sound beautiful together in different languages. Plus, I knew no one else would try to belly dance to this!

The other video is a better, more relaxed performance, I was really nervous here. Thanks for the lovely comment :)
