I remember when they used this theme during the Salem Stalker storyline. I love the more staccato intro and the fuller orchestral sound, particularly the brass. Wish they would use this again! Even If only occasionally for special episodes.

Bring back the entire 30 second opening theme for the Sept. 26 reset and use this 2004 amped up version. People who watch this show love the classic theme as it has played every weekday for their whole lives and takes them back to the days of ol' when they were kids. I remember the Days opening when I was little and no older than 3. This theme is the beginning of my 1 hour break from reality.

now here's another reason they should use it in HD when the dimeras are trying to kill the imposster rafe or the real rafe and sami and the bradys and the police are investigating this because of what brady did to EJ and stephino wants rafe dead just for beating up EJ but yet Brady is the one who beat up EJ so if the dimeras are trying to kill Rafe or the imposster they should use this theme with out shorting but use it in HD

I thought the Salem Serial Killer S/L was good but instead of Tony { Andre }

behind it it should've been Kristen I mean she hated Marlena and she was on

an Island since April 1998 so it would've mad sense .

@SOS8707 It was only used when the Salem Stalker Storyline was over and Marlena ended up on Melaswen alive with all of her "victims".

Reminds me of my grandmother, she's been watching Days of our Lives for 45 years... I picture her watching this then an hour after it ends, I see myself on her back porch watching the darkening clear blue sky with the sun very low, which is strange because even in winter the sun is still decently high in the sky at 3 PM...

No it doesn't however what I did was if I didn't like it the first time I probably wouldn't watch it again. They say if you don't like it don't do it but the reality is it's really up to you but I'm just saying why bother?

I don't know why they abandoned this one. It's rather nice, if a little heavy on the base. I like the sand falling tone painting going on in the beginning better than in the current version.

They usually run 3-6 at a time.

Good writers can "umbrella" or tie together the storylines. A particular story usually last for abot 3-6 months, but branches out to other storylines as well.

The stalker storyline was a horrible bust for 10,000 reasons, but I really liked this theme. It pays homage to an iconic classic theme, but gives it a fuller, more dramatic orchestral sound. Nothing like improving on an original, and that's what this does. I don't know why they didn't keep it.

I dont know why after 30+ years they still have an unchanged theme at all...I love the theme, but even young and the restless changed theres a bit or added a saxaphone here and there...this is the only theme that has not changed. my favorite theme right now is as the world turns and all my children

I don't think they've had closing credits since the '90s. However I just started watching the show again since like the early 2000s so I can be wrong.
