It stops the action before it begins. Why do you start negatively instead of building a positive platform, which is, I think, more important than playing the game "correctly".
@valentino1000 very true. I think these guys are probably learning rather than teachers but are just trying to share what they're learning in class. My tutors at university used to make it very clear you shouldn't be negative in improvs because it can (and usually does) block the action. Like "I really want you back" and the other person responds "No you don't, go away and walks off" (instead of, for example, "Why did you leave me?") - how are you supposed to keep the flow going then?
