  • guys his name is jeterfan906.. what, did you expect him to actually have stuff not involving the yankees or AL east?

  • You better modify this... Albert in Game 3 + David Freese in game 6... The 2011 Cardinals HAVE to be on the very top of this list now.

  • @DuncSTL you are clearly biased based on your username, but as a Cubs fan i admit that was special. not number one but that series deserves top 10

  • @edwardjida: I believe YOU are mistaken. Google any list of Greatest World Series and you'll find 1991 no lower than 2nd and most at #1. Look at ESPN''s listing of the Greatest World Series. If 2001 didn't have NY in it, few would even remember it except for the ending. You really should do your research before posting such silly statements.

  • This is about the LAMEST Top 10 I've ever seen!

  • wheres whitey fords perfict game?

  • As other's have said, not including anything from the 1991 World Series is a mistake. Most fans and broadcasters agree it was the greatest World Series of all time with multiple frozen-in-time classic moments. Puckett's game six walk off homer with Jack Buck's "and we'll see you tomorrow night" call top any of the 10 items on this list.

  • No Puckett Game 6 HR? How can you have a legitimate best WS moments list without the game six Pucket HR?

  • How do you not have Kirby Puckett's game 6 winning home run of the 1991 World Series. Bob Costas himself has made this statement. The 2001 World Series was good, but only because of the ending. To say it was greater than the 91 Series is just ludicrous. Most of the games were blow outs. "ESPN selected the 1991 World Series as the 'Greatest of All Time', with five of its games being decided by a single run, four games decided in the final at bat and three games going into extra innings".

  • I was shocked when they didn't include Pucketts game winning Homer in game 6, or Babe Ruth's pointing to the seats and hitting it there.

  • where's mantle's winning hr in game 3 of the 64 ws???????????//

  • youtube is for videos, not pictures

  • YOUR GAY

  • Greatest world series of all time was 1991 Twins vs. Braves... it truly is a shinedown story of pure baseball.

  • Obviously all great moments, but some left out unfortunately. expand it to 20 and there would be a couple with Kirby Puckett in them

  • Touch èm All Jesus the Ghost and Joe Carter

A one run lead for Philadelphia as we go to the bottom of the ninth, due up Henderson, White, Molitor, and Carter. Joe has had his moments. Access code search words: the 1000 Such Days Topsites website.

  • really?

  • 1975 World Series

aka the Greatest and Most Tense World Series Ever Played

    1912 World Series

    aka the Second Best

    1924 World Series

    ...you get the point

  • yeah 86 was the best

  • the greatest was wagner's inside the parker

  • the best alcs has to be RED SOX vs yakees 2004 the best comeback ever

  • Sorry, I forgot about the 14-5 game five at Atlanta.

  • Jeterfan906, actually the 1960 series had a number of games that were blow outs, but did have the walk off in game seven. The 1991 series had three extra inning games, and all but one game was determined by one run (5-2 in that game). The Twins vs. Braves series was clearly more dramatic overall, and featured a great pitching duel in game seven with Jack Morris throwing 10 inning of shut out ball for the Twins win. No doubt, 1991 topped 1960.

  • 1991 was clearly a better World Series. 1960 had two one-run games, three blow-outs, and the greatest ending to a world series ever. But 1991 had five one-run games, had only one blow-out, and both of the final games are in the top ten of the greatest world series games ever played.

  • 86 was the best hands down

  • @Tyler3594 lol no it's not. If it wasn't for Bill Buckner, this would have been just another WS.

  • @JonathonZenk Greatest comeback in world series history. Also the game was tied before buckner let the ball go thru. Game 6 was so amazing it takes away from an incredible game 7.

  • @Tyler3594 1991 Game 6 and 7>1986 Game 6 and 7

  • @JonathonZenk no way

  • @Tyler3594 Apparently you don't know anything about baseball haha

  • @JonathonZenk apparently you don't understand the 1986 world series

  • @Tyler3594 I do, but I don't think you understand the '91 WS since most people think it's te best WS ever.

  • @JonathonZenk I do, i still think 86 was better though

  • @Tyler3594 That's fine. You're in the minority, though.

  • Good list....

  • what about the 01 series of daimondbacks vs yankees. i know its just the daimondbacks but that was one hell of a series.

  • Im diehard twins fan, and i agree that 1960 world series is better than 1991..i never saw the 1960 series, but did some research on it...'91 was damn exciting, with all the one run games..

  • dont 4get bout roberto clemente he helped the pirates in game 7

  • So what if one game was won with a walkoff?? In 1991 3 games went to extra innings. The home team won every game, it featured two teams that were last in 1990 AND Game 7 featured a 1-0 victory with Jack Morris pitching all 10 innings. how many pitchers these days pitch 10 could even pitch 10 innings? That doesn't even mention the fact that Puckett had an amazing catch and a walkoff homerun in game 6 to force the amazing game 7.

  • @chanboy24 look at the title it says moments not series, learn to read before ya comment, go maz!

  • I think you could have had a better choice.

  • gibsons is a top 3, not number 6

  • i agree with you on this one gibson should of been num 2 and joe carter num 3 but hey whatever

  • @MrTimmyg2009 it should be maz 1 Gibson 2 Carter 3 and Kirby 4

  • That Toronto Blue Jays vs Phillies game can be number 1 to...I remember watching that game and Joe Carter hit a home run it was like watching a fiery tale movie..such an amazing ending have not seen one like that since

  • the red sox in 2004 should've been in the top 10

  • no you clown, sure they won, but that was actually a shitty worl series.

  • 1991 was the best world series. So many nail bitting games

  • false, easliy the 2001 world series, i am a die hard yanks fan and that was still the best despite the reslt

  • I agree with 5 star... with 3 walkoff moments in the 2001 world series, there has to be something included in this list..

  • For you New York Sports Fans, In Football, New York is no contest against "The Pittsburgh Steelers" if you want to talk about "Championships" & "Dynastys". Pittsburgh Steelers "5 Superbowl Championships", "New York Giants & New York Jets "4 Championships". The Steelers lead the Football Giants in "Superbowls" 5 to 3. So much for the Yankees being a so-called "Sports Championship Dynasty".

  • Let's continue to reflect on the 1960 World Series when the Pittsburgh Pirates "clobbered" the New york Yankees on the Bill Mazorouski Homerun at "Forbes Field" in Pittsburgh Pa. No Championship for the "New York Pinstripers" that year...Yogi Berra would tell you that today. Ask Yogi Berra today. Berra would tell you. You "Yankee Fans" are "crazy spoiled rotten". New Stadium, same old results since 2000. "GO JUMP IN THE EAST RIVER". Even the "Florida Marlins" beat the stripes out of you.

  • I think you forgot about 2001, where the dbacks ended it with a walk off single off mo in game 7.

  • It was, but the best world series ever was 2001 Yankees vs Diamondbacks. Just because there was a walkoff homerun in game 7 in 1960 doesnt make the entire world series the best. The Pirates did get lucky though because the Yankees won the world series in 1961 lol.

  • @Jeterfan906 don't say the 60 series was "clearly" the best series ever when most places you look places the 91 series as the greatest, obviously the 60 series was one of the greats, but in many opinions not the greatest

  • @Jeterfan906 I wasn't around for the 1960 Series. I can remember them back to when I was six which was 1976. I would have to agree that in those years the '91 Series might have been the best. I'll say that 2001 and '86 were right up there too in terms of drama and historical context.

  • @Jeterfan906 No, that world series was not that great it was actually weird and one-sided with errors in the field. That moment was an all-time classic but the series was not

  • @Jeterfan906 Really Yankees Pirates was better? In '60 3 games were won by 10 or more, only 3 came down to two runs or less and the walkoff in game 7 was he 10th run for Pittsburg. In 1991 there were 5 games decided by 1 run, 2 extra inning games, a ten inning shutout in game 7 and a walk-off in game 7. Kirby pucket had one of the best world series games ever in game 6, going 3-4 3RBI, 2R, a single, triple and walkoff homerun, he also made game saving catch

  • @Jeterfan906 In the 1960 series three of the games were blowouts (decided by 10 or more runs), and none of them went into extra innings. In the 1991 series 5 games were decided by a single run, 4 of them ended in walk-offs, and 3 went into extra innings.

  • @Jeterfan906 Clearly the best? ESPN ranked the top 100 for the World Series' 100th anniversary, 1960 came in 18th, 1991 was first...

  • @Jeterfan906 your retarded

  • @Jeterfan906 your stupid as hell

  • @Jeterfan906 walkoff game 7? try a perfect game going into the tenth 0-0 in extra innings

  • @Jeterfan906 Um 2001 world series??? Sorry Jeterfan that one ended in a walkoff too. Where was that on the list. Game 7 Gonzo bases loaded hit womak's hit to tie both off rivera. where is that moment

  • Not one of the "Top 10 moments" was from the greates World Series in history. 1991 Twins vs. Braves. Kirby Puckett was superman in that series. He had more than one moment in that series that should have been in the top five.

  • @Jeterfan906 ummmmmmmmm........what the fuck? Just because of the walk-off HR in game 7 doesn't make it the best WS. I would LOVE to hear why you think that WS was better. There were some great games in that series like New York's thrilling 16-3 victory in game 2, New York's heart-pounding 10-0 victory in game 3, and New York's nailbiting 12-0 game 6 victory. You do realize that one game does not make a series, right?

  • @Jeterfan906 I would put the 1976 Reds-RedSox series above this, as also the 1986 Mets-Redsox. The truth is the 1960 world series, some games were so lopsided that it was boring to watch. It had maybe the greatest ending, but it was not a great series to watch.

  • @Jeterfan906 ok so your saying that a world series with only one dramatic moment is better than the 1991 world series? how about 5 games where the twins and braves were within one run of each other, did the 1960 series have that? maybe 4 games ending with a walkoff, or even 3 games in extra frames? game 7 of the yanks pirates series might be the best world series game but the series was not the best

  • @rapman1997 dude do u se his name?? jeterfan<---- obv bias hes a yankee fan.

  • @rapman1997 I believe you are mistaken, the two generally accepted "Greatest World Series" has been and will remain the 1975 Cincy Reds vs. Bos. Red Sox and the 2001 AZ D-Backs vs. NYYanks. Twins/Braves was a good one, but it is NOT accepted as the "Greatest."

  • @rapman1997 2001 world series was way better than that one. Not even CLOSE.

  • More like Time Magazines top 10 world series moments but whatever.

  • Except that I used more then one site to find these and none of them were Time's website.

  • Good job Jeterfan906, too bad MLB doesn't let you put the actual clips on here.

  • good video

  • Yeah, Devo's catch was amazing. Great vid.

  • Devon White's catch in 1993 has got to be in there somewhere.

  • yeah 1st comment
