  • is this a plastic or metal model ?

  • @JESTER588 metal

  • @supermassvanity DAMIT lol thanks

  • @JESTER588 heh, be cool though if they had plastics like this.

  • @supermassvanity yeah *crosses fingers* new army book in march

  • @supermassvanity

It's now in resin, aka 'Citadel Finecast'.

  • nice! Luv black orcs, they're just so badass!

  • Orcs are veery one-dimensional, but then again rarely do other one-dimensional ideas shine like that... When you think Warhammer, Warcraft and maybe even LOTR - these guys spring to mind first. They are awesome and stuff of genius! Badass paint job too, you should get a Golden Demon or something =)

  • @MarkTheStout sound :)

  • old big boss

  • How'd you paint the skin?

  • good paint job man that looks professinal to me lol!!!

  • impressive ive seen these at a shop and their tiny..guess you put in alot of time painting this good talant and passion..i would'nt mind getting into this sought of stuff...too bad their expensive

  • thanks tuvaluman, yeah they are very expensive especially games workshop miniatures. painting wise there are others out there that are cheaper and worth looking into like Reaper miniatures. I rarely buy from shops, i mostly get mine from ebay now becasue its a lot cheaper.

  • I am soon going to start painting 20 black orcs, and I wonder.

How did you do the black? It looks very metal-ish so I assume it's not just chaos black?

  • i would assume it's painted Chaos black first with chain mail or bolt gun highlights. The shiny bits may well have been glossed?

  • yep exactly like that but I only used gloss on the axe handle. the rest is treated with matt varnish.

  • yeah just chaos black, thin and smooth layers.

  • @gazeebo88 my easy way is just to pain chaos black and do the highlights with boltgun metal, then after, put tiny bit of boltgun metal on ur brush, and just drybrush over it quikly, then it gets a metaly shine over it..

  • @gimroth18 Thanks =) I've been doing this for a while now already and it works great.

I basecoat them with Chaos Black spray, put some metal paint on edges to give an edgy look and then drybrush the overall model with metal.

  • Great job! Lovin' it

  • im guessing u have a 360 XD

  • whats that ?

  • wow... this one is very nice!

  • how do you do the tusks??

  • Scorched brown all over first, then respective highlights using Bestial Brown, Bleached Bone, Skull white. Paint small triangles from where the tusk meets the Armour and outward strokes towards the tips of the tusks, water you paint down to ensure a even smooth coat, and remember that the paint looses almost 50% of its luminosity when it drys. so if it looks really bright when you paint it on by the time its dry it will only be half as bright, most water based paints are like this.

  • Really nice job on the worn armour - swing us some tips on this as im close to doing some of my tanks :)

  • I just used boltgun metal on the edges where I saw fit and highlighted that with a little with mithril silver. don't be afraid to let the brush loose with it :)

  • Great Job!

    I Have a Grimgor...

But he's not nearly that well done!

  • I was going to buy Grimgor too but someone else got it before me! so this guy was the next best thing there :P

  • awesome painted man! is that NMM on the armour?

  • whats NMM ?

  • non metal metallics, basicly its using greys to create a steel look or browns to create gold. if u do the technique right ur miniatures will look 10 times more awesome, but if mess up they will look like they are either wielding a stone or a turd weapon:p

  • oH I see :) ..there not NMM then, I do like that brown over metal tho check out watch?v=vyhQ4U-trtI ...I just used bolt and mithril over plain old black.

  • ok ill watch that:p

  • Looks Awesome man, great job!

I think the black orcs are the coolest fantasy models.

  • yeah their fairly cool alright. ..have to beef my army up, i think its going to be black orcs all the way :)
