the northern lights in the video look amazing. how far do you actually have to go up north to see them and what is the best time of the year? is nain enough or do you need to be even more north?
@mctapt The best times are clear cold nights usually late fall to early spring and best viewed if you drive the Labrador Coastal Drive north to Labrador City or on the Northern Ranger ferry to places north of Cartwright and Rigolet like Nain and the Torngats National Park.
Much of this seems to have been shot in the area around Nain - am i right? Brings back fond memories of a trip i was fortunate enough to take there in 1998 - friendly people, GREAT hiking, high German hymns and sermons - the works!! I loved every minute of it.
