Did you notice she plays the fiddle too? Her music's at the end of the vid. I think that's AWESOME. In my humble opinion, this potter \ ROCKS, ladies and gentlemen (of all persuasions) ...
You do fine work--beautiful pieces---my granddaddy was a pretty good potter--my grandmother did the designs on his pottery and was really good at making animal sculptures such as owls-foxes-cats,etc.--they sold plenty of the owls and it was their biggest seller-but they also sold a lot of pots at shows--some pots had cutouts in sides and could be used for candle lamps,etc.---we dug the clay from creekbanks and hillsides==floated foottubs down creek with innertubes and dug clay with grubbing hoes
@elitemathlete yeah for faggots like you!!!!!!! But for real decent folks clay isn't gay at all---I know I ain't gay and I love pottery boy!---so go insult other folks!
and if youre no stilting your work you need to either wax resist the bottom or wash off the glaze otherwise the glaze fuses the piece to the kiln shelf
k she told u to put water on the wheel head, but thats only if its a plaster bat like shes using. if its a plastic bat or just the wheel head dont it wll fly off
@ddsw1992 Hey, I know it's been a year since you wrote this post but I thought I would mention that you can put water on a plastic bat or the wheel head before you put the clay on. It's only a small amount though, eg dip a finger in water and going over the surface, just enough to form a suction between the clay and the wheel head. If the clay is flying off when you do this, your are putting too much water on:))
nice

Excellent music you used in this production and very informitive as to your slip technique.
Do you give a private lesson or two to those of us that are not as blessed.? Les Wright

I love your brush work with the slip. Your video is a good overview of the process as dmwilson1951 said.
