I'm not bashing Sony or anything, I have a PS3 of my own, but they did use a lot of terminology and big numbers that people didn't understand to try and hype the PS3's specs back E3 '05 and '06.

I've always wished consoles would have the option to add more RAM to them, since ram is extremely cheap and it wouldn't affect the overall graphics just the load times and multitasking abilities.
The N64 did it with the optional expansion pack and I loved that! Majora's Mask could do some really crazy time-of-day situations because of the increase in memory :)
Either way I keep my consoles for their awesome exclusives and play my multiplats on my PC at 1920x1200 resolution and 60+ FPS! XD

Well I agree with lostproput. First off, when you install linux on a ps3, it runs in a virtualizer mode. Like an emulator. And it's a secure one too, it cuts you off from using the GPU at all! So you're completely incapable of running any 3d game at all. And that's all besides the fact that nobody has run 360 games on a ps3 what so ever. No matter what OS it's running.

its looks like he is using the webpage that streams it to the linux/ps3 . it runs the game remotely and you control and see it on the ps3.
So all the work is done on the remote computer and you use the ps3 linux distro as a front end client.

I play the PC versions of Halo 1 and 2 on my PS3 if I wanted to. They both worked when I tried them.
Halo still sucked as bad as it does on xbox.

Yea, This is obviously the pc version. But It still lags like a huge bitch, Too bad YDL didnt have any hardware support for the ps3 RSX. I really hate that only software based games run smoothly. They already hacked the RSX over a year ago, but there still isn't any proper emulator support for YDL? go figure.... Maybe they are trying to avoid sony from releasing a update to it?

despite nVidia logo which is enough to tell that this is fake, It's impossible to run xbox 360 games on ps3.
also ps3 limits the access to the hardware parts from linux side.
which makes it impossible, and even if you got full power it's not possible cuz emulating a console needs a machine that has double power of the console and ps3 is not!

I hope no one watching this video thinks this is remotely possible. If you can get any game, other then a basic 2d linux game, running on the PS3. Thats huge news. Oh, other then NES, SNES and some MAME games that are currently working on the PS3. There is no 3d acceration in linux on the PS3 currently.

streaming is very different. that is very close to what I said, remote desktop. You could have told when that. The video is miss leading. It makes it seem like it's playing on linux. you don't even mention StreamMyGame. you even said it was because the ps3 is stronger. give up already. This video should be called "Streaming xbox 360's Lost Planet on my ps3 linux ."

why should it be called that? i am playing the game on my ps3.. the streamer-server is just a mediacenter in my basement, and i can play the games(halo, lost planet, crysis) from that mediacenter on my ps3 any place in the world with internet! Iæm sorry for the missleading, but i say i play it on my ps3 cause i'm not doing anything else then starting my ps3linux to be able to play..

thats misusing the word "play". The game it self is playing on a Xbox360, and is being streamed to a PS3 with YDL. You may be playing it on a PS3, but the game itself is playing on a Xbox360. You should at least mention that it is still playing on a 360. Or even mention the word stream at all. Now we're just agruing about how a word is used. So this is pointless. Maybe mention streaming in the discription at least. And you won't have to deal with assholes like me.
