Wow such great responses. I grew up in Westchester NY and that car and Ad campaign in print and TV really stuck to me my whole life. Now correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Rod Serling appear in one of those Ad's? I remember it clearly. I'm pretty sure about it.
My Mother worked for Them around the time these cars were around. I have not only seen them but have been in all 3. Sadly I have lost all pictures I have of them over the years.
I believe I saw the Anycar II (which I think was the most popular one) at a car show in the 70's as a kid. For some reason I remember they had the Godfather car with bullet holes behind some wood and you had to pay fifty cents extra to see that one lol.
I THINK THE VIDEO IS GREAT BRINGS BACK OLD MEMORIES WHEN I WORKED FOR MANNY HANNY I DROVE THE ANYCAR II I WORKED FOR THERE CAR LEASE DEPT CALLED WHEELEASE WAS SITTING IN A GARAGE FOR YEARS TOOK ME A MONTH TO GET IS RUNNING AND DRIVABLE HEADS DID TURN WHEN I DROVE DOWN THE BLOCK THEY CLOSED THE LEASING DEPT IN 1990 WAS A GREAT JOB WITH SOME GREAT PEOPLE
This is so cool. My Dad was VP of MH in Syracuse during this promotion. I will never forget the day he pulled up with the Any Car. It was like the President pulled in... We got to ride around Cleveland NY for a whole weekend in that thing!!! I remember being so mad he couldn't get the one with the MINI CAR!!!...lol
Somewhere among my archives, I have a combined music/voiceover track for the AnyCar Loan campaign, circa 1973 -- a 7½ ips mono tape. (I worked for Y&R, the agency of record.) No visuals, but all the audio. If I can find it and digitize it, I'll pass it on.
And feel free to use any of the clips in this video--or the entire video itself-- for your audio track (so you'll have something to accompany your recording). And please consider posting it as a Video Response.

That would be fantastic if you could find it!
