  • I actually started my locs using the interlock method. For a short period (probably 5-6 months into locing) I tried twisting my lcos. Bad choice. I twisted my hair for a total of 1month and you can see the issues within my locs. The interloc portion is thick and matting properly, but the twisted part is thin!! Crazy thing is I went to a loctician to twist my locs.. now recently passing my 1year, I am hoping those areas loc up and that my ends properly seal. Interloc rocks!!

  • When you use the tool to tighten at the root do you then palm roll the length of your locs?

  • @bmjm1974 .

If you are using the tool right after washing your hair, then yes palm roll the length.

I find it easier on me when the hair is dry, this way all you are doing is retighting the roots. The length

doesn't need to be palmed rolled when the hair is dry or has been previously ( a day or even a week old) washed.

  • @atlantalocs Thank you so much for responding and so quickly! This was so helpful!

  • Hi, how much do you charge for retwisting locs??

  • Or you can use a bobby pin. I found that to be just as effective, :D

  • My god people, locking tools are dangerous and interlocking can make them beak right off. your roots dread on their own

    Go see dreadlockssite . cmo

not selling anything, just good advice.

  • @Bahishnessly , thank you for insight....I agree with you that tools and anything either than the natural way can cause damage to the hair. However, we as people have busy lives and therefore the convenience of the tool helps. Your locks is tighten longer (tool) than the traditional way. I encourage my costumers to switch, the loc tool should not be the only way of locking. There is to be balanced like anything else.

  • Do you give classes on interlocking and sisterlocs?

  • @cocain2010

I apologize for the late response...the answer to your question is no, I currently do not have instructional sessions.

  • your title is very misleading. i thought you were giving a tutorial not showing off your work then soliciting business.

  • i used to get this done for my locs but then the texture got weird, they'd be fat at the places that I interlocked it then skinny. I don't like the bumps, maybe I'm doing it wrong.

  • @danyellogram

Hello Danyellogram, whoever was doing it for you should have alternate......I don't believe in Just using the tool for the reasons you mentioned, again there needs to be balanced.

  • U CAN MAKE A TOOL FROM A WIRE PAPERCLIP...

    1. stretch it out till it is as straight as u can get it

    2. then fold it in half evenly and twist the bottom 1/4 of the way up (like a twisty tie)

    3. finally, u can use a small amount of duct tape or masking tape to cover the twisted part so u wont scratch urself or snag ur hair

    {I have locs myself and i interlock mi hair and mi clients hair...experience = 15yrs doing hair}

  • @Yardie1Diva : Do you have a tutorial of how to use it?

  • @Yardie1Diva , Thank you Yardie1 Diva, Whatever works right?

  • Same question,,, can't find the tool. Where did you order it from?

  • you can get it on ebay. search dread lock tool.

  • where do you find this tool? I live in Atlanta

    ADRi

  • hey!! Next time could you show the process of tightening your hair? looks real nice

  • where to find a lock tool @

  • Thank you for showing your beautiful dreamlocks maintained without using a lot of hair products. I found out the hard way that that these products irritate the scalp and cause dandruff. Once my scalp recovered from all the stuff I used to slap onto it, dandruff and dryness disappeared. After shampooing, I rub 2 drops of Trader Joe's Lavender Body Oil onto my fingers, then lightly touch all my hair. My daily spritz: few drops of this oil shaken in a spray bottle full of filtered tap water.

  • do you use the tool onlyl for the roots? i use a needle for the roots but it seems the rest of the l ocs don't remain too neat when i use the tool to weave it the frizziness.

  • how much u charge to retwist?

  • $60

  • how long does it take to di it this way and how locked in do you have to be to use it?

  • Hello ladybabyz,

You can loc it dry and apply moisture later or use the moisture from washing your hair. In my video my hair was tighten dry.

  • Do you lock the hair dry?

  • yes, I retighten my loc dry and then I added moisture.

  • The locs are amazing!!!

  • Thank you.
