  • Sorry, Glasgow Apollo

  • Hello 10cc fans...I have a selection of 10cc memoribilia,

Programmes, Concert Tickets, Live photos from a concert in

Scarborough, East Yorkshire, Graham Gouldmans plectrum

and a floor songsheet, handwritten in Eric's writing! (Honest, I was a

hugh fan back in the day and got to see them 7 times and mostly got front row and loved to collect what I could)

Also saw the original line up in the early seventies in the famous Apollo.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know. Thanks, Chris H

  • I was fortunate to see them play the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium at the time they were promoting "Bloody Tourists". Fabulous concert. Hard to fathom why these guys weren't five times as popular as they were.

  • Thanx for these vidz Annie...I'm a long time fan of 10cc..HUGE part of my teenage years..saw them in a tiny theatre in Dayton,Ohio on the "Bloody Tourists" tour...still one of my favorite shows of all time.I've known about the 77' video but, have never been able to track it down and the older vids are like long over-do xmas pressies!!Thanx again!!ALL THE BEST! Starry

  • @StarryKnightMusic Hi and thanks for your message. Just to let you know that I've made a disk for you featuring the full 1974 10cc at the BBC concert and the 1977 Live at Hammersmith Odeon in 1977.

Please let me have contact details and I'll send off to you by air mail.

    Best wishes

    Annie

  • Were is Eric?

  • You can tell when a track is good you feel it in your bones, this is one of the chosen few.

  • @10cc4me. Ditto! I was sitting here watching this with headphones on and could barely speak when my wife came in and asked what I was listening to. Just too choked up to tell her! I don't know if it's because they were my favorite band through those formative early- to late-teen years, but for me the music of 10cc is something that makes me so glad to be alive.

  • Embarrased this is the first time seeing them perform this or any song. Been listening to them for so many years now it was extremely moving watching them - seeing Eric play piano and guitar, and then seeing Graham playing bass and both of them singing - brought tears to my eyes!

They've been such a wonderful part of the majority of my life...

  • The base solo shows the huge musical respect they had to one another.

  • This song is still the penultimate. Graham, Eric and Rick - unbelievable talent.

  • @FionaSeinfeld Hate to be a nit, but I don't think you mean "penultimate." That word means "next to last." So, you are actually saying that this song is the next to last. I'm an English teacher, so I do this type of annoying thing. With that off my chest, let me add to all of the complimentary things said here. I grew up listening to 10cc studio albums and never dreamed they could pull of their studio songs in a live venue. I stand corrected. Thanks, Annie, for exposing me to 10cc live.

  • @jaxnerf Yeah, you're right.

  • I remember when Channel 4 first started in 1982 this gig was one of the first things they transmitted in the first month. Fantastic.

  • damn that 's so good - makes me cry - best show I ever saw in concert- front row and I have seen pink- roxy -elo - bebopdeluxe - tull- all the best--- 10c will always be the best

  • @zekedog111 you saw be-bop?lucky you,and 10c???I would give my eye teeth two of my arms and two of my legs to see 10cc!

  • Fantastic footage from the 'Live and let Live' era. Thank you. The entire album is such an underestimated masterpiece. Great musicians at work. Some of today's 'Bands' should take note...There's no substitute for talent!

  • Thanks, my favorite song from one of my favorite banks. I have all the vinyl from them.

  • Thanks, my favroite song from one of my favorite banks. I have all the vinyl from them.

  • Awesome! thanxs Annie! x

  • Thanks to AnnieOakley53 for posting this...MADE my weekend...Unbelievably talented guys who made fantastic music with a minimum of rock and roll posturing. True musicians.

  • graham gouldman - not one single note out of place! eric stewart's beautiful vocal gives way to his glorious and victorious guitar solo. 'feel the benefit' is a masterclass in songwriting. a masterpiece. listen and learn...x

  • The old man had this concert on video in the 80s, and I remember watching this when I was 11 years old and loving the bass solo (had never seen one before!) and thinking the guitar solo was one of the greatest things I had ever heard/seen!

In fact I used to watch it and rewind it to watch it again over and over. That video got lost a long time ago and it's great to see this here. Brings back a lot of fantastic memories.

  • @ReacharoundzFanClub Everything you've said here applies to me too! I first saw this clip when I was 8 - on Dad's video - and wanted a Gibson Les Paul guitar from that moment. I got one for my 21st birthday - I'm 32 now and still trying to recreate that solo!

  • I just wanted to say thank you Annie for sharing this fabulous footage of this epic number. 10cc is delicious, and does not get the recognition they deserve for such talent, skill and color they bring to rock & pop music.

  • The ending is VERY reminiscent of Yes's "Starship trooper"....

  • great song!

  • Does anyone know what bass Gouldman is using?

  • @deadhead723 It's a Fender Jazz Bass - my favourite, but I'm not in GG's league!

  • awesome song, awesome bass solo

  • Saw This performed live in Buxton by Graham Gouldmans 10cc, for that gig Rick Fenn had been replaced by Rupert Fenn who was excellent,Best 10cc track ever!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant and thanks for uploading a vid of "Silly Love" cause I heh, love that song.

  • I would give my eye teeth to see the original four play together again.

  • At the Manchester Apollo would be good.

  • I totally agree with Eric being under-rated, in my opinion he was THE BEST, certainly UK guitarist. That's saying something with Knopfler and Clappers on the list, but he shades them for inventiveness, I think. Maybe Carlos would get it world-wide, depends on what style you like, Carlos is really a "seat-of the pants, one-take wonder". a few bum notes, but fantastic energy.

  • If you think Eric was underated, check out Francis Dunnery.

  • I was there, one of my all time fav songs. eric stewart so underrated as a guitar player, and the bass solo is just amazing. bring back 10cc . a part of british music brushed aside. we need to bring them back, long live 10cc!!

  • Best bass solo ever! No contest!

  • Who's that in the white jacket on guitar? Looks a bit like like Kevin Peek from Sky et al! Couldn't be, could it??

  • That would be Rick Fenn, one-time session musician, now part of Gouldman's latest version of 10cc and friends.

  • GREAT version.

  • OMG!!! Eric Stewarts feel the benefit solo influenced my own playing forever, sassy blues!!LOVE 10 ccccccccccccccccc !! Some geetar player no mistake!!

  • as with prt 1 &2....WOW!!!!! To me....the guitar solo is one of the cleanest, tastiest in modern music. I say this becaus of it being NOT overplayed. There is a remarkable amount of restraint that is played out perfectly....(just my opinion)

  • It's a darn good opinion. The whole song holds remarkably true to the original. They just nail it here!

  • Damn right - Eric's solo is just a perfect piece expression without spilling his guts out in notes.

  • I had this on Betamax tape and lost it somehow through all my lifes confusion....SOOOOOOOO nice to see it again....xxx

  • at last 10cc fans unite!

  • The bass solo is amazing! It's not too complicated, but it sounds fantastic!

  • I saw them play this in Edinburgh in (I think) the late 70s and still have the LP somewhere in the attic at home. Bass, guitar and vocals are inspirational. Just stunning - thx for putting it up. And they were great at the Cornbury Festival too even if it was p***ing it down with rain. Another UK tour pleez.

  • The current touring version only includes one original member - Graham Gouldman.

  • 10CC'S CROWNING JEWEL!

  • Eric Stewart has to be one of the most underrated guitarists ever! The guy's a genius

  • @rmoore615

Yes I agree, and no effects to cover up any lack of technique either.

The solos in I'm Mandy Fly Me always make the hairs on my neck stand up.

  • Soooo professional - respect.

  • Not too many bands can lose half of their origonal members and actually get better.

  • thank you so much for showing us this, Iv'e soooo missed this album......

  • Not easy to make a bass solo work, but they do. I love 10cc. I miss great music like this.

  • Buy the CD.

  • although I am an ELO nut I truly love this band Deceptive Bends was class!

  • Absolute Class from a superb band.

  • I'm amazed that someone gave me a "minus one" rating for my comment below?

What was wrong with saying that 10cc wouldn't be the same without Eric Stewart or that 10cc never got the real recognition they deserved?

    Jeeze.

  • absolutely nothing wrong with your comment in my opinion, werehavinaparty, I agree with you!!

  • Thanks Jules!

  • Well said, whitey

  • In case you haven't seen it, do a YouTube search for 10cc's "Second Sitting for the Last Supper". Greatness.

  • I really can't imagine 10cc in concert without Eric Stewart. It would be like the Rolling Stones without Mick. Eric's voice is just too unique, melodic and identifiable as "The Sound of 10cc". Very few in rock history can compare.

It kills me that 10cc never got the super-stardom recognition they deserve.

  • I SO agree with you whap.

  • This is one of my all time favorite songs. I love the lyrics of parts 1 and 3. They really make you think. I have the Deceptive Bends, Live and let LIVE!, 10 for 10, and How Dare You! I love their music. Thanks for posting it!

  • Never realised this band were so great. First time ive ever seen a bass played as a lead...genius . Feel the Benefit should be up there with the classics ....WHY ISNT IT?!!!!!!

  • man i wish 10 CC would all get together and tour again

  • Awesome! Thank you!

  • one of the best rock songs ever, listening to it for over 25 years...and i've never seen it performed at all, until now. thank you! thank you! thank you!

p.s. i thought nobody knew about this song but me...boy, was i wrong!

  • KMW.....I totally agree. This song has held up over the decades with some of the very best rock 'n roll classics. Yet, so few know about it.

It's almost like a mini rock opera, with a beginning, middle and finale.

    Absolute greatness.

  • it was like my secret for the longest time: "i know something you don't know, nah, nah, nah, nah, NAHHHHHH, nah!

  • Funny!

    I've felt the same way.

Every time I play it for someone, they say...."Damn, that's good stuff".

  • Thanks for posting! What a good song!Feel the benefit is my all time favourite!

  • One of the best ever bass and guitar solos ever. What a band.Awesome!

  • superb song and guitar by eric! graham were's our back stage passes from congresshalle zurich 1980 (THE ONE WHERE THE ELECTRICITY WENT!!) All the way to switzerland!from cliff british airways, quay st.

  • Greatness.

    Their masterpiece.

  • Superb!!

  • Outstanding!

  • FANTASTIC

  • thank you so much for this annie i never thought id hear this again great live song

  • Saw this tour in Gothenburg, Scandinavium 25 years ago. Still makes me happy. Most awesome band ever.

  • Boy can Eric make his guitar talk why he does not share his gift anymore I wish I knew.Come on Eric blow off the cobwebbs and play.

  • AMAZING! prolly one of my favorite solos.

  • I wish they had all 3 parts together, but I'm sure there's a reason why they didn't (YOUTUBE restrictions?). But this is a great closing segment to 10cc's anthem. To my knowledge, no other song they recorded sounded quite like this one. It's one of my favorite epic jams. Right up there with the "Supper's Ready's" etc...

  • Unfortunately YouTube only allows 10 minute uploads hence having to split this epic track. Personally, I think this live version is even better than the original recording.

  • brings the 70s back nice i was a 10cc addict back then

  • thank you for posting this! 10cc is amazing

  • Thanks Annie....I had never seen them perform this song before and it is one of my all time favorite 10cc compositions.

  • Tasty solo at the end by Eric Stewart 100cc

  • Well...I never thought that this song could be faithfully reproduced live. Wrong as ever! Marvelous! Annie...so many others have said thank you to you for your hard work and dedication in putting all these 10CC songs on YT, so my words are just an addition. But, thank you Annie...thank you very very much.

  • My Dad and my brother were at this concert. In my opinion, Eric Stewart's solo is one of the best ever - second only to Dave Gilmore "comfortably numb" Earls Court.

  • cheers annie i watch this video every day my dad used 2 go to skool wiv eric stewart .wen i was a child i had the oppurtunity to sit wiv 10cc at strawberry studios in stockport and watch them record the windows in the jungle album .

  • This is a great video!

Particularly love the 'Live & Let Live' version of Feel the Benefit

  • Thanks so much for posting this. Best piece they have done, any chance of Rock and roll lullaby?

  • I love you Annie Oakley! Thanks for posting all the 10cc videos, especially this one. You have done a great public service. Eric and Graham are without peers. My brother is learning to play this song.

  • When my brother was 17 he learned to play the opening of 'Feel the benefit' on his guitar. I always admired him for that :).

Another great classic, Graham lookin good.

  • gouldman on bass -very exciting!

  • my favourite 10cc track.......nice one ;-)

  • I am so glad you put this on youtube. One of my all time favorites from 10cc. Love Eric,s guitar work at the the end of the track. One of his best. I saw 10cc live at Odean New st Birmingham during ''Original Soundtrack'' era.

Thay had a power cut on starting Somewhere In Hollywood, but no problem to start again. Thanks again

    Clive

  • This was unbelieveable!!. Sounds almost exactly the record.. What a accomplishment. Graham Gouldman could be the greatest songwriter/musician Pop Music ever saw.

  • Another grat video ! Graham is on fire with the bass guitar.

  • another 10cc classic,great guitar solo,thanks for posting

  • Thanks, I remember seeing this tour. On the crossfade from pt. 2-3 the lighting guys mirrored the transition making it seem like watching a video production.
