  • I'm disappointed my state elected that man... what a joke. Almost as funny as us going to Mondale

  • AL FRANKEN FOR PRESIDENT!! AL FRANKEN FOR PRESIDENT!! AL FRANKEN FOR PRESIDENT!! AL FRANKEN FOR PRESIDENT!! AL FRANKEN FOR PRESIDENT!!

  • @tommiedepew1 I have a degree, but you certainly don't need one to be smart with money. The gov't is 16 trillion in the hole; it's questionable whether they can keep the Postal Service running. I on the other hand am financially comfortable (even though the gov't. is still ripping me off). If you trust the gov't. with your money, you richly deserve what you're going to get. Hey, I've got an idea. Since you love the gov't. so much, I'll gladly let you pay all my taxes, too. Whaddya say, pal?

  • @tommiedepew1 Who's using your family brain cell at the moment? I could have bought a house with the money that was confiscated (that means taken without my permission, i.e. stolen) from me for social security and medicare over the years. What has the government done with this money? They've spent it on re-election campaigns for Congressmen.

  • Bullshit

  • Franken, regardless of intelect, is an embarassment. shameful the election practices in your state, this is what you get an deserve...a joke maker in cotrol of your state. good luck with that. I don't deny his awesome ability to entertain on TV, but that's where my respect for this biggot ends. you'll all see, when he leaves office your state will be much worse off and people around the country might now think your next senator will be a stripper or musician. From Wellstone to this..it's a crime

  • F the so god part and is that a bible he is holding??? franken should have told them were to stick it!

  • There's a difference between deficit and debt debt is inherited, a deficit is the difference between revenue and expenses, debt is stacked deficits

  • If Americans keep voting republican they deserve all the suffering that's gonna come along with it.... No Medicare... No Medicaid... No Social security... NO government for the people.... Say bye bye middle class... And say hello homeless elderly with no health care....

  • @funkyflights Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are going bye-bye regardless of who controls the national government; they're practically bankrupt, thanks to Congressmen on BOTH sides who have been spending those funds for their re-election campaigns and wasteful pet projects.

  • @galoon

Medicare,Medicaid and Social security are not going bye bye.... There trying to make cuts NOT say bye bye... But I do agree the stupid politicians have hurt the systems by sticking there greedy little hands in it... But both systems still have massive surpluses and DO NOT add to the national debt... That's the ridiculous part .... America cannot let those systems go because people WILL DIE!!! That's a fact

  • @funkyflights These systems, especially Social Security, have never had anything like massive surpluses. This supposed "surplus" is nothing more than a stack of government IOUs. In 2009, Social Security benefits outweighed payroll taxes by 6 billion dollars--therefore a surplus is mathematically impossible. The way it works is this: the OASDI payroll taxes go into the fund and are payed out as benefits; any surplus is put into the general fund and spent on other government programs.

  • @funkyflights And when the baby boomers retire, there will be more people collecting benefits than paying into the system. It's going to collapse, and we're kidding ourselves if we think simply printing more money or raising taxes is going to help. As the baby boomers retire and age, these systems will become a permanent part of the national debt. That's a mathematical certainty. It's worth noting here that no nation has ever taxed itself out of a debt.

  • @galoon

Yeah but a nation cannot let corporations who make billions of dollars pay nothing in taxes... That along with the wars were fighting are costing us massive amounts of money.. And when you say more baby boomers will retire keep in mind they paid into the system there whole working life and so do the millions of younger workers... the surplus is massive and it gains interest... It's just ridiculous that they keep using the money for other things... dam shame...

  • @funkyflights Corporations don't pay taxes in any case--they have to pass that cost on to the stockholder, their employees, and the consumer. Corporate taxes are, in reality, additional taxes on you and me. The baby boomers paid into Social Security, but that money was constantly being spent and thus was not earning interest. What is your source for the supposed surplus? I agree with you completely--these funds are supposedly for us; they're not supposed to go into Congress!

  • @funkyflights I personally would rather keep the money that's currently being taken from me and put into Social Security. I'm certain I can save and invest that money more responsibly than the government can. I earned that money in the first place; by all rights, it should be mine to do with as I see fit.

  • @galoon

I understand you not trusting these politicians.... But then again... HOW can we trust the Banks OR Wall street for that matter... They have our politicians in there hip pockets with buy-outs... The taxes that are taken out of each of my paychecks in very minimal and it doesn't affect me at all... I was reading that social security without any changes has enough money to cover until 2037... the reserve is 2.6 trillion dollars... a couple changes it can be strong...

  • Wow, how pathetic is this show? Dude, you should try and use some grown ups for the writing.

  • Loved it how Senetor Frankin was always one step ahead, one burn ahead. His experiance in comedy may have had a little to do with this. Just briliant.

  • Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran.

  • @syzygy501 Shut up dude one of my friends is Iranian and he's one of the nicest kids I know.

  • @97beachboy I'm being sarcastic. I was making fun of John McCain. Sorry. Just having fun, my bad for making it unclear.

  • I enjoyed that IMMENSELY!!!!! Man, I'm gonna watch that again!!!

  • what the hell is the GOP? i hear it all the time in US politics, but I don't know what it means...

  • @Stevie2Sxc It's an acronym for "Grand Old Party" (not sure how they ended up with that name) but it's used to refer to the Republican party.

  • He has been one of the BEST Senators in History. He is In-Corruptible.

  • way to go way to go big GUY!!

  • It's too bad the democrats FUCKED UP and didn't get shit done when they had the chance.

  • Senator Franken will go down in history as one of our best senators. He is a smart and good man.

  • Woohoo. Minnesota- yes we are a great state.

  • Al Franken isn't afraid to call the pigs and fatcats out on the carpet on all their lies. This country has been lied to for decades

  • @Indijulichar Please refer to my original comment stating that Obama has accumulated more debt than all other presidents combined. That is how I see it as his administrations fault. I am not a republican either and agree that a share of the blame goes to the Bush administration, but people like you who blame our current financial predicament entirely on the Bush administration are blinded by your love of the left. Wake up and accept your share of the blame democrats! You have faults too!

  • @Indijulichar Sounds like a typical left wing argument, I ask questions and I get called an idiot. No leftys bother with things like backing up arguments or even making an argument, they just insult the intelligence of the right for even thinking their savior left wing candidates are anything but. Anyone who disagrees is an idiot.

  • Disgusting. A Saturday Night Live comedian runs, gets elected by having the votes re-counted over and over and over again until he wins (funny how the need to re-count he immediately backed away from once he had enough votes). Yet another low moment in the history of this country.

  • The funny thing is that the American voters bought the GOP argument.

  • EAT YOUR HEART OUT BILL O'REILLY!!!

  • cenk was so right

  • BOOYAHKASHA!!!

  • @LibertyInProgress EAST SIDE IS DA BEST!

  • Obama has now accumulated more debt than all other presidents combined, do the democrats own it yet? Or is it still Bush's fault?

  • I hope that no one is actually listening to this moron.

  • Comment removed

  • I too am amazed at how suddenly the G.O.P is worried about the freaking deficit, after Bush doubled it. Sad indeed.

  • Eh...bipartisanship is the Democrats and Republicans coming together to do whatever the Republicans say. Jon Stewart has been saying this about the GOP for how long now? I like Obama and I think his goal of bipartisanship was admirable, but this shit has to stop. Judging by how the GOP voted against extending health benefits to 9/11 first responders, its time to Obama to say 'Screw this, its time to get some work done.'

  • @Gunman610 Obama's idea of bipartisanship is the Repunbs doing exactly what he wants. everyone preaches bipartisanship but no one means it or does it.

  • @grahamgrider One of the first things Obama did as POTUS was to sit down with conservative pundits and bloggers. In fact, one of them bragged that they used the fine china while liberal pundits had to eat off of paper plates. Bush never met with liberal pundits, although he met frequently with conservative pundits. Obama held a meeting to discuss the health care reform debate. Bush never held a meeting with Dem leadership. Bipartisanship has to be a team effort.

  • The last 15 seconds were so prescient.....Great job TYT!

  • Our in-house govermental proceedings are so dull. They need to be livened up a bit. All this false minding of manners & false civility... bleh. What they need to do is reverse things by making the ads civil & the proceedings adversarial. I would watch CSPAN if that were the case.

  • ACORN won Franken his seat. These lying Donk scum are traitors.

  • @alphecca2539 Prove it, you lying sack of shit. Prove in ANY way possible that ACORN had a part in winning Al Franken's seat in the Senate. I bet you can't find a single damn credible thing to back up your accusation.

  • @LibertyInProgress You call yourself a libertarian.

    You make me laugh.

You are another young brainwashed product our failed public school system, incapable of rational thought but no doubt full of 'self-esteem' because you are harmless, metrosexual and can parrot the silly Donk talking points your muppet hero Keef OlberDouche mouths each night.

  • @alphecca2539 thanks for your opinion, now go back and mop the floors

  • @Darusdei if your profile is to be believed you are in Finland. Hanging out on Youtube pages devoted to US politics because participatory democracy is dead where you come from?

  • @alphecca2539 havent you heard already? u.s. is the paragon of democracy, it doesnt exist anywhere else.

  • @Darusdei

    Well said, Doris Day.

  • Oh man, watching that ad a year later is hilarious. "Government run Health Care? No debate" lolwut

  • Revenge for 2000

  • Democrats are a bunch of fools and liars.

Al Franken is a smart ass and a fool.

He once made me laugh, but now makes me sick.

The LIberal Agenda is evil and needs to be turned back.

Democrats and liberals have some whacked ideas that were fed to them by ego-maniac college professors and teachers' aides...angry fat chicks that blame every ill on Republicans or anything Traditional like Christianity...AHHRGGG!

  • I respect O'Reilly in some of his opinions, what makes it so sad is that I expect horsepucky from Rush Limpdick and Glen Beckencrybaby, but expect the big O to have a little more dignity!

  • @joetylerdale You should really look up the video footage from the time Bill O'Reilly and Al Franken were on a panel discussion together. O'Reilly tries to bully Al into shutting up and Al does not back down.

  • "More wasteful spending"

In order for there to be more wasteful spending, there must previously have been wasteful spending... and who was in power before the Democratic majority?

  • Go Al!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mmmmk stupid bastard

  • please STFU and show the reaction

  • @testmonkey21 oh I am starting to see a patern from googling your comments, you are just some stupid troll.

  • HAHAHAHA!!!

    You are rediculous. x(

  • Well, if their "checks and balances" equals total opposition to reformed healthcare, then it is equivalent to total gridlock and the seizure of the government engine. It's gotta be 60 or else nothing gets reformed, I guess.

  • Franken can freehand draw a US map from memory. That's an example of how superior his intellect is to his peers. The only recourse the liars in the REP media have is to spin lies. America doesn't have time to fling poo at each other anymore.

  • One thing:

While that of course shows he is not a complete fool like most of the people in Congress, it does little to show positive evidence of traits that will help in Congress; all that that task requires is a very good memory and some drawing skill.

Do not take this in any way as a criticism of Franken; I have no idea who he is and have no intention to attack him. This is simply a technicality I am making.

  • hey fruity: Well, he graduated from Yale. That's a start. I wouldn't mind the other two ladies in the senate, either

  • It must be burning up the GOP that things under the Obama Administration seem to be on the mend.

  • Yeah, on the mend. The deficit has risen the most ever in one year, unemployment is at 10%, no growth in the economy. 0bama the Boy Blunder is taking us down the sewer.

  • See? Its burning you up! There is some growth, unemployment seems to has stabilized, as have the banks and the housing market, and the deficit continues to grow, as it has since the days of Reagan. Obama is not putting you in the sewer, he is tugging hard to get you out..

  • Yes, because the housing bubble and the financial crisis were all caused by Obama, and the previous trillions of dollars of debt under Bush were all Obama's fault as well. I hear he also controls the weather, and is the reason behind all natural disasters. If only Obama wasn't around everything would be sooo much better.........

  • Actually Fannie Mae's buying up of millions of bad loans was the cause of the financial collapse. Bush tried on 17 occasions to warn the Democrats running Fannie to reform. They didn't. 0bama was intimately involved. He received ten times in contributions what any other Congressman got during his two years in office. You people act like 0bama wasn't around before he was president. He was a senator and part of the Democrat Congress that preciptiated this crisis.

  • I wonder what you righties will do if the Obama turn what you fucked up around. What excuse will come up with then?

  • @gj804 The sun has a better chance of bouncing up and down in the sky tomorrow than do Zero Boy's plans stand a chance of working.

  • Who is Zero Boy? I swear he was voted out of office in January 2009.

  • I am an independent, but Young turks suck. They don't have discussions, they are just biased and annoying

  • exactly. that's why they are busy bashing obama and his weak stance on his own health care bill. right?

  • Yeah...You are proving my point. They have a liberal bias and rather than discussing they bash people.

  • Look man, we on the left like Franken. He stands for Ralph Nader, Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich policies!

We dont attack your liebertarian people....leave out left's alone.

Attack the Neo Cons... THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM!

  • "Ralph Nader, Mike Gravel, Dennis Kucinich "

    OMG

    .....ok then.....

  • Franken's a fucking circus clown. He ran as a publicity stunt. Now he has no idea what the hell to do.

  • are you retarded? if you listened to his radio show you would know he is deeply interested in politics. actually i take back my question because i am reasonably sure that you are retarded.

  • this guy is a fucking tool!

  • he should have came out as stuart smiley

  • ur a dick asshole.

  • Define "dick asshole"

  • Also, isn't it a federal crime for someone to put "I'm __ and I aprove this message" when they don't?

  • I hate that type of politicing. "Vote Democrat" or "Vote Republican". Disregard the person entirely, just vote for their label.

And people wonder why congressmen have a 92% re-election rate despite congressional ratings always being low.

  • Repubs being fucking nuts and out of touch doesnt mean calling them out on it being liberal spin....

How retarded can you be, these are human lives not a sports team, stop blindly following one side you fools.

  • I love the violin in that commercial. I wish I new the song.

  • Lol, George Bush's deficit graph is a vertical fucking line for the last year he was in office.

Oh, sorry. Gotta go easy on the truth with neo-cons around.

  • ololol, damn that ad was extremely misleading.

Not like they had a failure of a president for the last 8 years.

  • It's funny, people watch these videos and go "Cenk is such a liberal spinster."

...yeah, showing EXACTLY what happened unedited and calling the perpetrators stupid is soooo fucking liberal.

  • Aye, and even if Cenk might spin alittle, atleast he admits he is liberal... comparing to O'Reilly X-D

  • True. Rememer when O'RLY was on Letterman when Bill said, "I don't know I don't follow what the Republican party does that much." What a pathological lying fucktard.

  • No I havn't seen that, but THAT is not a suprise XD

  • long live al franken, and what a cheesy gop attack ad, that music is classic... who falls for that crap?

  • My God. I guess anyone who has a problem with one party having too much control in the whitehouse is "misleading" and a "clown". And how this guy thinks he knows how republicans think. This man is a disgusting partisen who can only ridicule others. He seriously needs to get knocked down a peg.

  • Bush had fox

  • we like him though :)

  • I was so elated that Al Franken won after that soar looser Coleman dragged on the race for so long! I think Minnesota so lucky to have that man representing them.

  • What was the national debt when Bush took over? And when Obama took over? And now? Just curious

  • Most of that debt was made by Bush

  • Yeah I know that but I don't know the numbers.

I can't stand all these Republicans commenting on how the national debt has grown under Obama, when he's only having to spend so much money because of the fuck-ups during the Bush era.

  • Comment removed

  • 09/30/19924,064,620,655,521.66

    09/30/20005,674,178,209,886.86

    09/30/2008 11,634,723,000,000.00

BUT thats the debt. if you want a better gauge of wasteful spending you have to look at the national deficit.

  • sorry the spaces got messed up lol

    1992 -

    2000 -

    2008 -

  • Yeah look at the giant leap from 2000 to 2008. Where'd you get these numbers btw?

  • you can just google them, there are many many places that keep track of these things and keep statistics. i just typed in "national debt by year" then just grabbed them from the closest time to when the presidency has changed.

  • Cenk is taking it a little far, just give the Republicans a little credit for not acting stupid when he was sworn in, as would be expected.

  • As I've said before, if Bill-o the Clown, Comedian Rush Limbaugh, Nutbar Glenn Beck, Hannity the Man-kin, or Man Coulter are so much smarter and better than proud Democrats like Senator Al Franken, let THEM run for office and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, not just bitch about how our country's going downhill. YOU WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER SEE THAT HAPPEN! And there's a reason: the dirt that would be dug up on them (phone sex, pill-popping, etc.) would make winning an election an impossibility for them.

  • you are right..

  • i love the ending of this video!

  • Now all of a sudden the Republicans are concerned about checks and balances? What about 2000-2006?

  • Exactly! Well said!

  • @mcgevnm that´´s their policy man, just making shit up and sticking by it :D

  • That should be my question when you consider the news of that coleman suit that happened to break JUST before the election. That suit is set to be dissmissed....but of course the damage is done.

in any event, I was playing devils advocate more than anything...

  • Speaking of Paul Wellstone (rest his soul), it begs the question (just playing devil's advocate):

As the host mentions, this was the late, beloved (by the DFL, anyway) Paul Wellstone's seat....which the DFL would tell you would have NEVER left their control had Paul not died....as if it is their birthright.

Wouldn't you agree that this seat is EXTRA special to the DFL...who, after a long six-year wait, might stop at NOTHING...to get their seat back...(cherry-picked ballots, etc.)?

  • Where's the evidence of that, though?

  • Franken is/was a comedian whose beliefs are truely liberal, like yours. Another to add to the list is Arnold and Ventura all who should not be polititians, they are not liberal, but should be acting. And you my friend are enveloped in ignorant bliss.

  • they shouldnt? ehh? wouldnt that work against democracy

  • Hmm so I am curious. How do you feel about Ronald Regan who was also an actor?

  • He would've ruined Casablanca.

  • I remember that "angry" clip....notice that the backgrounds and clothes are different?? Talk about misleading!

BTW....quite the "man crush" on Stuart Smalley, there....LOL

  • A good day for the country - go Al !!!

  • Leftist scum

  • Thats funny. You don't really have a left wing in the USA. Well maybe a few like Nader are center left. The USA is UltraRight (republicans) to CenterRight (democrats).

You want leftist scum? Thats us. *wave*. Over here. We are so left it would make your blood boil :)

  • Are you addressing me? I'm from Ireland.

Democrats have become far-left and Republicans have drifted to the centre.

  • Republican may be "left" of you, but Democrats are about 10 times right of Scandinavia.

When you guys talk about how bad america will be if Obama enslaves it to socialism, its always Sweden thats mentioned as if it is the Evil Empire from start wars :)

Everytime I watch FoxNews I get this urge to laugh insanely and stroke a long haired white cat.

  • Scandavia is miles left and suffers because of it. Sweden squandered one of the most productive economies in the world and now is dirt poor, especially in terms of net pay. And I have been there and I ain't impressed. I certainly couldn't tolerate the standard of living.

Stick to Norwegian state propaganda tv then...nobody in the world gives a shit

  • Actually I get most of my news from BBC new, CNN and EuroNews. But I also pick up Al Jazera, FoxNews and Sky News. I could watch the norwegian state news but frankly its pretty dull stuff and to be honest I still get tired trying to understand Norwegian for long periods.

But nice try at trying to suggest I am a brain washed native, shame it was an epic fail :)

  • It would be a waste of time learning a language that's completely worthless I suppose, but then again you're frittering away your life living there.

Oh you must be so objective watching both Fox and CNN from different sides of the spectrum. Thank God for America or else you would be stuck with insipid European state television

  • Well I think spending my life being close to my children is hardly wasting my life, but our idea of a worthwhile life are probably very different.

And I would hardly say Fox and CNN were different sides of the spectrum. Fox and MSNBC are opposite sides of the spectrum. Those are both just propganda entertainment. To be honest I would rate thoe channels more in line with comedy channels than news channels.

And btw, there is no European State, ergo there is no European state television :)

  • Nothing wrong with that, but if you were a good parent you'd get them out of that country.

I think they are. Did you see the outrageous behaviour of the CNN reporter at the American tax day tea parties?

I used "European state television" to denote the various state tv stations in Europe e.g BBC, RTE, Channel 4 etc.

  • Why would I get them out of here. its the best country in the world without question. Ok, the taxes are painfully high, but the standard of living is the highest in the world, its safe and friendly, the country is unbelivably beautiful, and the women ... oh yeah :)

No friend, there is no amount of money in the world that would convince me to take my kids out of this country. I left england because I got a girl pregnant but I stay because it is the greatest country in the world :P

  • Not being a racist I tend to think women from all countries are equally hot, but whatever.

Maybe it has things going for it, but that's despite the disastrous economic condition it's in. Pre-tax incomes are low and then throw in high taxes? Crazy. If Norway is so good why doesn't it have the same immigration levels as the Anglo-Saxon countries?

  • No idea. Maybe geography plus immigration laws. Norway is a rich but small country (5million people). It is next to impossible to function here without having registered as a citizen or legal visitor because without registering you cant get a legal job, bank account etc.

But in the end, I don't care. Life is good, and although I stand somewhat "right" of the natives, I cannot argue with results. You get what you pay for. They pay a lot of tax, but they get the best standard of living :)

  • as an american living in europe, sorry for what my countryman said to you........suppose he needs to get out more...

  • You dont have to apologise for someone else :) He is not being offensive anyway. I think norway is the greatest and I am happy here. He thinks the USA is the greatest and is happy there. In the end, we are both NATO countries and allies no matter what small differences seperate us.

  • goldfinger!!!! was that who had the cat?

  • More like Republicans are the Far-Right and Democrats are Centrist Right.

  • It's all a matter of opinion, and it depends on what you define "Right-wing" as. For example, I consider the Nazi Party to have been a far-left party based on its propensity to intervene in the economy

  • You think the right does not interfere in the economy? Man, everyone interferes with the economy! The economy is everything. Low taxes is not the same as low interference :) Just look at the techniques and results of the chicago school of economics (which are as right as you can get without falling off the planet).

Left vs Right on economics is not about how much they entervene, but on whos behalf they intervene. Right does it for the super rich. Left does it for the rest. Both are selfish.

  • I just said it's a matter of definition. You just completely ignored my comment obviously. I define right-wing as advocating less interference. The defintion is up to the individual, in this instance.

The Chicago School was to the left of the Austrian school, since they were ardent statists

  • But that would make conservatives left wing when it comes to private issues like sex and marriage as they advocate MORE interference. Surely your definition is out of sync with common perception of right and left wing as it exists in the USA?

  • Not really.I was referring to economic affairs. The lesson is that the left/right divide is a false dichotomy. The true political difference is statist/liberal. Right-wingers, as defined in the US, are economic liberals and social statists. The opposite being true for Democrats. However, economic freedom begets social freedom inadvertently. Hence, albeit unintentionally, Republican policies make for a more diverse and tolerant society even if they themselves are socially conservative and parochial

  • Well two problems I have with this:

    1) Republican do not promote economic freedom. They talk deregulation, but if you look even casually at their actual policies they are deeply deeply committed to economic control of the strictest manner. Now Libertarians seem to promote economic freedom, but we have nothing to judge them by as to what they would do if they got in power.

    2) I see no evidence to back up your assertion that economic freedom makes for a more tolerant society. Can you clarify

  • 1) That point is correct. Most Republicans have increased government size dramatically. However, Reagan is the only one to curtail government size as a percentage of GDP. This laid a foundation for the Great Moderation.

Libertarians are committed ideologues, I think they would hold true.

    2) Purely empirical. Compare the economic freedom index to the social freedom index. Sweden is a tolerant country, it also has a relatively impressive economic freedom score (top 15)

  • 1) Well I was including influincing the global economy and the internal economy of other countries when suggesting that republicans are not pro-economic-freedom. As I said, they may wish to deregulate domestic corporations, but they want to keep a firm hand of control on economic issues in general. Remember Friedman was one of Reagans advisors :)

    2) Ok, I am unaware of an economic and social freedom index :) All I have is anecdotal which I accept is not scientific. Can you link for me?

  • Friedman was very much for a laissez-faire approach. He promoted free trade and did not countenance any foreign economic interference. Sometimes he wrote about reforming coercive institutions on the basis that they already existed even though he would have preferred their abolition

  • And yet foreign economic interference was the prime legacy of his teachings/students. Look I have a feeling we will have to agree to disagree on this issue. Some see Chile as a shining example of the great effect of Friedmans economics, others do not. And I suspect never the twain shall meet :)

I just do not subscribe to the idea that the republican party in the USA at this moment is in fact a "low economic interference" party, and has not been for quite some time.

  • unless there more libertarian such as ron paul and idk who else leans libertarian

  • Go to the heritage foundation website. Can't post links

  • Thats like suggesting I visit the Vaticans website to find an unbiased view of which religion is the best :)

  • It's an empirical index based upon criteria which they explicitly state on their website. It is not comparable to a religion's baseless appeal to faith. They also don't claim on the site that economic freedom leads to prosperity and happiness. It's up to the reader to infer that from the data.

Republicans advocate more economic freedom than any major party on earth. That's indisputable. Whether they fulfil their promises is debatable.

  • Well I think you mean "in america" not "on earth" as thats a pretty bold claim otherwise :)

But as you say, whether they fulfil what they promice is debatable. I am on the "they dont" side.

  • Name one other party on earth that liberalises or promises to liberalise more than the Repubicans that achieves more than 20% of the vote and I will concede to you

  • that ad was fannnnnntastic :)

  • And Franken was the one asking the tought questions to Sotomayor and doing his job and not showing off his racism like the RepubliKKKans in the committee.
