  • i took 1000mg and no flush :(

  • I seems pretty foolish to take a medication without "having a clue what it's for," regardless of whether or not a medical person prescribed it.

  • how much do You take ?

  • they put it in bread because there was a vitamin b3 deficiency causing an illness nationwide several years ago. the illness became eradicated because of that but still higher doses of niacin are more beneficial opposed to eating just bread alone. i take both niacin & niacin-amide.

  • @rehndawg I found a flush free niacin, but I don't think it's as good.

  • @NancyToday No nancy you require the flushing kind because it opens your capillaries...when you flush the blood vessels near the top of your skin, you glow red. this kind also helps with the cholesterol issue. what you can do is take aspirin or advil before you take the niacin to prevent the redness. i take niacin-amide for memory issues and depression...and hopefully to extend life.

  • @rehndawg interesting!

  • only Caucasians or fair skinned people get red

  • @rehndawg That would be me. I must be coloured! I get red when I'm flushed, purple when I am cold, brown when I'm tanned and pink or red when I'm sunburned! I probably turn green when I'm jealous, but if I'm jealous, I can't see my aura! LOL.

  • Niacin=nicotine=vitamin b3

  • Is there a way to take care of the niacin flush? Even takinngn 50 miligrams makes me real uncomfortable. It's very hard to tollerate.

  • @palatiality Perhaps niacin could be used as an antidote for winter! LOL

  • lady you should be on medication your a spinner

  • @tsunamimachine1 You think?!

  • @tsunamimachine1 - what do u know are u a doctor??!

  • @SovereignBeing no i am not a doctor ,it isnt rock science you figue it out !!!

  • @SovereignBeing the first 20 secs say it all.she takes a tablet and she doesnt know what it is for ....please

  • @tsunamimachine1 At least its natural... B3 in excess makes u look like u got a tan..

she should really be taking Omegas and fish oil to clear out the arteries too..

  • You also want to space niacin throughout the day to keep you blood level saturated with niacin as it is a water soluble vitamin and will be eliminated quickly through the kidneys and out. Niacin lowers LDL and raises HDL and stabilizes cholesterol with the same effectiveness or better than statin drugs. Enjoy taking care of your body!

  • Niacin is a better form than niacinamide. Another thing you want to be aware of flush free niacin is not as effective as regular niacin, so try to stick with a cheaper regular niacin. Flushing usually disappears after 2-3 weeks, if it bothers you initially you can take aspirin 30 minutes before taking niacin to prevent flushing.

  • niacin works like magic, it opens you're vessels and vains almost double in size in some cases, resulting in a clean free radical dead cell clean up, it like breaking up a beaver damn and letting the suds flow away.

  • I took niacin for the first time today. I saw your video prior to the purchase and didnt think much about it. Tonight I had a flush, and I instantly thought of your video. Very glad to know it was coming!! Thankyou

  • So cool you had a heads up on it first! You're welcome.

  • I found out today that taking an asprin prior to the niacin will help prevent flushing.

  • The end result is that your cells now have more blood to rid themselves of toxins throughout your body as the capillaries get wider!

  • Without sufficient blood flow (oxygen, and everything that comes along with it), this cell cannot rid itself of its' toxins. Now, imagine your city widening the road that leads by your house -- the traffic would increase right and they would probably increase the speed limit from 25 to say 45 or 50 right? Well, the same is true for your capillaries! They will carry more blood, and at a faster rate.

  • Thanks for explaining that so well for me.

  • Your arteries, in comparison, are much larger than capillaries and can carry more blood and at a faster rate, but they do not come near the majority of your body. Arteries are the "highways" of your body and capillaries are more like the small town road that you exit off of the highway from in order to get to your house. Your house, in this example, would be a cell somewhere in a remote part of your body that is full of toxins.

  • Niacin causes your capillaries (small blood vessels) in your body to get wider (bigger). The capillaries are usually extremely small and blood passes through them very slowly. The inherent problem with this is that capillaries are the main way for your body to rid itself of toxins.

  • you're so cute i just want to hug you and kiss your cheeks :)

  • I want to have a flush! Lol I hear they flush toxins! yay

  • Beef is loaded with it.

  • I Have One Every day LOL . The Flush Means It's Working :)

  • HOLLY SHIT I JUST TOOK 500MG of NIACIN and my skin feels so HOT as hell. I think my skins going to burn off :( asked my aunt to check my temperature and she said its normal but my skins red and HOT like sun burn AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH sorry but just trying to capture my emotion

  • @2high2aim bravo, your body thanx you.

  • Thanks for the info, I think I'll try niacin to detox in addition to sauna and lots of water.

  • This isnt abreviations or slang, it's what we on the internet like to call "retard."

  • I take niacin after I get out of the shower. It makes my skin feel dry and itchy, which enourages me to put lotion on.

I dont know what it's supposed to be used for, but it sure makes my skin nice :)

  • Hi Nancy! Yes, I am going through Niacin flush at the moment, which is caused by nicotinic acid. You can get the slow release niacin which doesn't cause you to have these burning sensations. It helps liver metabolism and is vitamin B indeed.

  • I took a gram my first time and remember running around my apartment screaming 'OH GOD IT BURNS!!!' lol.

  • will you read me a bedtime story? you calm me :)

  • wen i was in rehab niacin was givin to me to flush out all ma toxins if giving in a pil u get a flush if u go for a jog u bcum reai itchy go straight in a sauna n all the bad intoxins in ur body will come out all the coffee nicotine drugs alcohol u name it wil b coming ot via sweat n ul c d sweat coz its white looking and after u take higher doses and withing weeks ur body will b as clean as uve taken ne drug or toxin clean as a new born baby....

  • i experienced a niacin hot flush today and it scared the hell outta me!

  • my skin feels like it's on fire when i take mine

  • Firt time I took it I thought I was going to die. Now I like the flush. Keeps me warm :)

  • I take niacin with food to reduce the uncomfortable histamine-releasing "flush effect" you experienced.

Since taking it with my dinner meal, I have all the

great health benefits of niacin with no side effects.

    Best of luck to you!

  • the hot flush is normal. it lasts 30 minutes, I feel hot all over. Lipitor is 10 times worse IMO. bones ache, tired all the time, forgetful. Niacin actually makes me want to go to the gym after the hot spell is over.

  • Vitamin b3, i think, stay healthy!
