This song is not as good as David Lynch made it in Lost Highway. It's amazing how a great movie, a great film director can squeeze the essence out of of a tune. There's a haunting ephemeral quality that Lynch effectively exploited. Just like he exploits every other element of his films so ruthlessly, so despicably, so artfully. He is a good movie maker.

@KingKook Odd use of works. Not sure about the "squeezing, exploiting, ruthlessness and despicably" stuff!! I think it's a much more natural process for Lynch than that. I don't think he is so contrived, clinical, manipulative or uptight about his wok. He's a naturally visionary man as far as I can see, it's a natural process for him. I agree though that the version of this song on Lost Highway is probably even better than this one, which is still amazing.

This Mortal Coil were way underground when they were out, their fans had to really search them out, get clued up by older heads and go discover this music.
