I wasn't slamming Roger Miller at all, I was applauding him. I'm a musician myself, and I have definitely noticed a loss in my range of hearing over the years. That he endorses hearing safety is cool, that he does it with ginormous rifle range earphones is even cooler!
Musicians cant hear the music nearly as good as the audience.. Hence, the speakers are IN FRONT of the scene, and they cant be behind, because that would most likely create feedback.. So, its simple so he can hear the other guys and such..
Do your research. "In 1983, after releasing their only full-length studio record Vs., the group disbanded due to Miller's worsening tinnitus, attributed in large part to their notoriously loud live performances -- during their farewell tour, Miller took to augmenting his usual small foam earplugs with rifle-range earphones onstage."-Wiki
agreed. this is the reason the band more or less disbabnded. i'm surprised he even came back. wonderful to see that they're playing again. one of the best bands to come out of Boston in my oppinio, along sode the modern lovers..
Mission of Burma: The greatest gift to the world that not many know of. Seen them live, still have all their CDs, bonus tracks. Most important band of all time.
Mission of Burma is the greatest band of all time. BTW, they ARE playing "Dirt" live onstage in the video, but the actual soundtrack is frm the album OffOnOff. Thier website has good vids.

What the fuck. Dude has bad hearing. He doesn't want to go totally deaf. So what if he has to wear ear muffs?

I have it live at the Living Room in Providence, RI. It's a Mpeg from my digital. I would have posted it, but the sound sux-very overmodulated.
