Classically constructed song easily in the top 5 Oasis tracks. If they had recorded the album/single version with the backing of the Festival Chorus Choir it would have elevated this already great song to another level altogether and had the future airplay time it deserves rather than in effect being forgotten an 'album track' they missed the trick? Theres something so ridiculously endearing about Liams performance on this song. This cat basically went out for a decade and just sang till his vocal chords burst. Everyone, including Liam im sure, know his voice will never be like it was when he was 19 . But man, there's something so "fuck you" about him still just gettin' up there in front of 20,000 people and givin it. You want a perfect voice, go to Pop Idol, you want a real person, then its Liam man.

So, I don't know how he does it in the studio, but it's become pretty clear that Liam cannot sing anymore, at least at shows. If I paid for a ticket to a show and he sung like that the whole way through, I'd want my money back.

He's clearly trying to sound as normal as he can, but it's not enough. Look back at what he sounded like even in 2002, at least that was in tune, even if it was an octave lower.

I know what you mean mate, he's hacking his way through a lot of live shows going for sheer force of power instead of a melodic approach, however, don't forget the processing on the vocal tracks, multi-tracking etc and the other studio trickery that can make anyone sound several times better, have look at some youtube video's for products such as melodyne then imagine what a skilled producer and some decent booth engieerng can do with this.

Anybody that has affection for this group needs to watch the performance of Champagne Supernova at Earls Court 1995 and ask themselves whether they're doing Oasis any favours by continually brushing this aside.

Tough love, but his voice is on the way out for good if he doesn't sort it out.

Sorry Liam I love the sound of your voice on the new album but I have yet to hear you sing live on this tour and sound anywhere near good. He's isn't holding the notes for long enough and keeps pulling back from the mic, I imagine this is because he knows he's not hitting the notes right and sounds bad. Better to sing a crap note and pull away from the mic than hold the same shit note for longer.
