Hi i am an intermediate rider and i want neither , i want a zero camber or a rocker in the middle camber on feet combination. I want to ride all mountain : pow , kickers , rails , boxes , steep slopes. My current board is a european board you probably never heard off. It is a imperium alex doumergue model, 157cm , camber board. it is good but i want a little shorter and more playfulness and flex.
@Buzze1985 Try a Burton Hero. That is, if your into Burton, which people dont seem to be these days... However, I love Burton, and the Hero is a great Board. I would also recommend the Jeremy Jones. AMAZING all mountain board.
Rockered boards is this generations "asymetrical" boards of the early 90's. Of course all the guys who went out and broke the bank on buying one said, "they're great", "WAY superior to symetrical boards", "this is the future of the sport", "soon all boards will be asym.". Rocker in the nose might stick around for powder boards, but the banana style rocker is only good as a beginers board.

Reverse camber isn't the end of it... we have some of next season's boards sitting around that have a reverse camber and a 10 degree bevel on the nose and tail base... talk about cheating those presses.

i have had both boards, the lib tech skate banana (i have that now) and the burton custom (old board), and personally, i like the skate banana a lot better, sure the custom is an all around great board, but all i do is freestyle, so i prefer the banana. it's a lot more fun to ride, and magna-traction doesnt work as well as it is advertised, but it still works. its better than having no traction on ice. if you ride all mountain, then get a camber board, but if u ride terrain, get a reverse camber

Not true. Some pop helps accelerate out of a turn by transforming potential energy into kinetic energy too during a carve. It's the same as how a ski works.
Bananas are good for beginners as its reverse camber shape allows for a buttery sliding feeling so its harder to hook an edge & fall. On the other side, its harder to initiate carves even with its, uh, magnetraction. Finally, even though you can press the F out of them, its harder to lock in as you don't have the camber pushing back. This is the same reason you need to land all your tricks on the "bolts"(skate term) or you'll slip out. Especially on kickers. BUT, they are kick @ss in powder.
@Airblaster120 I have Horroscope Flatkick. I love the flat kick, it never catches and is very playful. You can butter it very easily. It even does fine going around the mountain outside the park.

I have two Misfits that collect dust, I have last years Pantera too, sick decks none the less...Bought Libs BTX Dark Series sicest deck ever. LIB slays poon. No, if you were smart, and actually thought about physics. You would know that B-Tech is better for powder. The nose is naturally curved up and since the tail is naturally curved back, you lean back also. Ride one you dip shit.
Ridden one, i'm from the PNW afterall and mervin owns this place. Big mountain lines are what I do. Ironically i'm in the physics program @ UW. You either don't understand what big mountain riding is or do not understand big mountain lines (see: steep) do not require any float. It requires a stiff board WITH camber so when you hit ice (as you often do riding BM) you can actually hold an edge. Bananas are cool for mellow pow/jibbing but you'd be mistaken to take one down a BM line.
I've been on more than a few 55-65 degree faces and a banana (even with magne-traction) would just not hold an edge. It's pretty straight forward and if you understand physics and the bowing of a banana this would make perfect sense. I ride a steel plank when I go out and ride a BM line, that'sindustry standard. For christs sake, what actual BM rider even rocks a banana. NONE. JJ didn't even use it and he had free access to it through QUIKSILVER. TBH, you kind of suck if you NEED it in pow.

You must have been born yesterday. Everyone ripped off Lib Tech's Banana Tech. They were the first reverse camber, and every other company was like damn, this is a wicked ride. The Never summer R.C. was just slightly different so they didn't infringe patent laws. The new C2 Banana Tech isn't as good as the original either.
Tech has come and gone... And sometimes things are done for marketing and copyright reasons not with the riders in mind. Sometimes these things catch on like wild fire with no concern of validity!
Long tee's is an example of that. B-Tech isn't just a marketing ploy, sure they will market it cause they're a business. But I know lib tech is always engineering. They grow there own bio-engineered trees, use beans as an environmentally friend top sheet. Magne-traction and B-tech are just more examples. You need to ride one, it's wicked.

As the (extremely happy) owner of a K2 Gyrator (the first year's one with the retro graphics - sexy board indeed!) I feel I have something to add.
I always looked at rverse camber and thought they looked broken. I don't follow the industry press so had no idea of the hype.
Then my Believer went back for a warranty replacement. Right at the end of the season they had none left in my size (62) so I got the pick of the range. After initial suspicion I took the Gyrator out ...
...from the top of Les Grands Montets in Chamonix.
What a revelation! "THIS is what it's meant to feel like!" The motion of the board, the float, the turns, everything about it was absolutely perfect. Still, I didn't jump the gun and tested several others before settling on the Gyrator.
It really MUST be said that reverse camber isn't as good on piste or hard pack, but in the soft stuff there really is nothing better.
"Trend" or not they are great boards and I'm very glad to own one.
When it comes to pointing the nose down a steep hill and scaring the living daylights out of yourself, I don't believe reverse camber is as good as a conventionally cambered board.
The liveliness, power through carves and contact with hard/piste snow on a conventional board is far superior to reverse camber...
...on the soft stuff that counts for nothing. After weeks of riding good soft snow I still laughed like the first run in pow. Incredible feeling.
I've been riding since 1999, raced bordercross, dabbled in the park (but it's not really my kind of thing), and thrown myself down more than enough steep and deep stuff when I was living in Chamonix... twice... definately not a week-a-year snowboarder. ;o)
I'll be after a good cambered board for piste days if I move back to the alps again though.

Ridden one, i'm from the PNW afterall and mervin owns this place. Big mountain lines are what I do. Ironically i'm in the physics program @ UW. You either don't understand what big mountain riding is or do not understand big mountain lines (see: steep) do not require any float. It requires a stiff board WITH camber so when you hit ice (as you often do riding BM) you can actually hold an edge. Bananas are cool for mellow pow/jibbing but you'd be mistaken to take one down a BM line.

I've been on more than a few 55-65 degree faces and a banana (even with magne-traction) would just not hold an edge. It's pretty straight forward and if you understand physics and the bowing of a banana this would make perfect sense. I ride a steel plank when I go out and ride a BM line, that'sindustry standard. For christs sake, what actual BM rider even rocks a banana. NONE. JJ didn't even use it and he had free access to it through QUIKSILVER. TBH, you kind of suck if you NEED it in pow.

hahaha okay dude. i have a banana, and i've owned and ridden MANY boards. i can say from experience the banana is the best board i've ever strapped into. it was made by skateboarders with more points of contact to give you more control between your feet, more pop, more flex, and it SHREDS powder. from experience, it does ALL of those things so its not a hype, it's reality. and also, there's so many amazing snowboards that use it besides kass. watch think thank for instance.

The Never summer R.C. was just slightly different so they didn't infringe patent laws. The new C2 Banana Tech isn't as good as the original either.

Long tee's is an example of that. B-Tech isn't just a marketing ploy, sure they will market it cause they're a business. But I know lib tech is always engineering. They grow there own bio-engineered trees, use beans as an environmentally friend top sheet. Magne-traction and B-tech are just more examples. You need to ride one, it's wicked.

As the (extremely happy) owner of a K2 Gyrator (the first year's one with the retro graphics - sexy board indeed!) I feel I have something to add.
I always looked at rverse camber and thought they looked broken. I don't follow the industry press so had no idea of the hype.
Then my Believer went back for a warranty replacement. Right at the end of the season they had none left in my size (62) so I got the pick of the range. After initial suspicion I took the Gyrator out ...

What a revelation! "THIS is what it's meant to feel like!" The motion of the board, the float, the turns, everything about it was absolutely perfect. Still, I didn't jump the gun and tested several others before settling on the Gyrator.
It really MUST be said that reverse camber isn't as good on piste or hard pack, but in the soft stuff there really is nothing better.
"Trend" or not they are great boards and I'm very glad to own one.

When it comes to pointing the nose down a steep hill and scaring the living daylights out of yourself, I don't believe reverse camber is as good as a conventionally cambered board.
The liveliness, power through carves and contact with hard/piste snow on a conventional board is far superior to reverse camber...
...on the soft stuff that counts for nothing. After weeks of riding good soft snow I still laughed like the first run in pow. Incredible feeling.

I've been riding since 1999, raced bordercross, dabbled in the park (but it's not really my kind of thing), and thrown myself down more than enough steep and deep stuff when I was living in Chamonix... twice... definately not a week-a-year snowboarder. ;o)
I'll be after a good cambered board for piste days if I move back to the alps again though.

Camber is not a Honda, and Reverse Camber is not a Benz. You can't say its a 'better' board, else all the pros would be riding it. Why does Travis Rice still ride a camber board in his vids and competition? Because he PREFERS it. Its all preference, not a better board.
Transworld Good Wood is no longer done via BLANK boards. So stop spurting more bull shit then you already have. They haven't done blank board test for some time now.
