Georgous, it is exactly the same for me. I discover not so long ago the song Trust and was wondering why i didn't pay attention to this fabulous band. Now this is a band that i listen to almost every day
@pwnagexe when I first started listening to Megadeth, this was my least favourite album (I think back then it was the recording quality of the original release that put me off). It then grew on me and has been by far my favourite album for the past 5+ years. Masterpiece.
Degrasso was the BEST drummer in Megadeth from a technical standpoint - that plus he could play great live. Gar and Nick were great too, but i raelly think if they brought Degrasso back then the band would sound way better - sorry Drover.
@jRockaX IMO (and i'm a drummer) Gar was the most technical, Jimmy had the best technique and Nick had the most energy and was the most wild. I must say I do like drover though, he plays a good heavy beat, and for chuck, well he was good but average overall.
@arnometallica I wouldn't say that, don't get me wrong i think he is a brilliant drummer, i mean sleepwalker is one of my favourite drum tracks, but, he is not the best. The thing is with megadeth is that almost every member they've ever had is amazing which means that great people are looked down upon as they are replacing people that are one of if not the best... just bad luck really
What is this Metallica bashing everywhere? Aren't we in the same Thrash-Family? Shouldn't we bash Hip-Hop and Rap and this commercial shit? It pisses me off. In Metallica Video, Megadeth sucks, here, Metallica sucks. Can't we just get Friends? Metallica and Megadeth did it too.
@Sarentor We shouldn't be bashing any genre of music whether it's rap, pop, country or wtfever. we should worry about our own damn genre. That's what seperated the original metalheads from the ones today. the ones back in the day only worried about their own. the ones today are too worried about bashing other genres of music that they make themselves look like douchebags
@Sarentor It's still stupid. I love 'em both I just really don't give a shit anymore. It's not like they really make a difference. Let people say what they want, I'm gonna get my headbang on.
@sonnic1995 they play wake up dead and inmediatly they start with this part of the song, in the sonisphere they did the same but with head crusher/in my darkest hour
Whats the odds of a guitar player getting kicked out of the what came to be know the most know metal band in history.........But still forming his own band that at atleast 2nd in the world of true roots metal from that time in music......love both bands and have seen both atleast 10x live Long live Metal!!!!
@CaptMorgan1st haha you'd think wouldn't ya! haha na i think the first megadeth song i heard was peace sells, don't get me wrong i liked it but at the time, considering i was 17, well maybe i was a metallica fanboy at the time, but i guess i'm living proof that anyone can be cured and i love both bands now. this along with Iced Earth in Athens (Alive in Athens) and Metallica in Seattle 1989 are my three favourite live performances

Dont agree. Menza was without a doubt the best. Degrasso is ok though but i dont really like his style with his typical hi- hat licks . He uses those alot, especially in the small pauses in the songs on this dvd. But Al Patrelli is awesome, much better than Chris Poland or Jeff Young. Hes close to Marty!
Ok, Chris Broderick will kill the others technically. KILL THEM! Chris can play all of the others shit flawlessly and Dave has said that Chris is the best guitarist he has ever played with. He even went as far as saying that Chris is so good that Dave considered not playing any solo's on the new shit. So all the haters need to do some research of the musicians careers as a whole not just what they did in Megadeth. Then you will know that Chris Broderick owns. Wait and see on the new album!

For those who say broderick is best, your just going wiht the hype... he ain't even played on an album yet?! so i don't know what basis your going on.. Marty had the sound n i just hope broderick gets somewhere near but i got a feeling its going to be more of the same as united..

Is there anyone out there who thinks a significant portion of the song was doctored in the studios? Dave's voice sounds overdubbed to me. I'm not saying Megadeth can't have a great night, but is there a recording engineer who can put in their two cents? This just doesn't sound like an authentic live performance to me.
there are slight differences in his voice between the recording and this live version. The accuracy is due to him only focusing on singing in several parts. This song is also very sensitive to dave, im pretty sure he wouldn't want to fuck it up.
That's not Friedman, It's Al Pitrelli. You know i think friedman is better too, his chord arpeggiating style is great, but of all other megadeth guitarists, chris poland, jeff young, glen drover, etc., i like pitrelli best as second to friedman, his solos are very creatively composed. Such an awesome song and connects on all levels of society. Made glam rock take a step back and access wtf they were doing... one of the greatest songs of the late 20th century.
Al Pitreli was great in Megadeth. But Jimmy Degrasso.. he ain't got no rhythm. He is a skilled drummer, but he's missing rhythm. Nick Menza was the best drummer in Megadeth by far.
What do you mean, missing rhythm? I don't see anything wrong with his playing.
As for my favourite Megadeth drummer, I'm quite partial to Gar Samuelsson, although I'm not sure why. He just has a great feel on the Peace Sells album.

@Gravemaker90 Cliff's death made Mustaine realize that a bitch is nothing compared to a friend's death....
And that's how "In My Darkest Hour" appeared.

Such an awesome song and connects on all levels of society. Made glam rock take a step back and access wtf they were doing... one of the greatest songs of the late 20th century.

Agreed

Wasn't he the only one too though? Until James came in, I think ex BLS shouldn't be mixed with Megadeth.

The only true bassist's besides Ellefson were James Lomenzo and James MacDonough
