  • Beautiful and Inspiring words from a very humble and spiritual race of People. I think perhaps so-called civilised people could learn much from them. Unlike another set of commandments they don't state what NOT to do, so right away it makes me feel they come from a place of Love and not Fear. Lovely Post.

  • AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE

  • Wisdom my ass!!! Tribal gov'ts need to find a way to get business on the reservations so people can be employed and get a well earned check and not another gov't program with free money. This video is such bullshit.

  • @spareaxe you are too caught up in government, this video is about saying out loud and following what you know is right, having jobs is important but is it more important than saving what's left of our culture? My tribe puts a large amount of it's profit towards post-secondary education. Reservations were usually chosen because of their bad location and tribes usually do not exploit their natural resources, this makes business almost impossible already.

  • @checkle1 You can't live in the past and expect things to change through a supernatural wish list. Who trusts a gov't? I don't it's up to the people to make changes not gov't. The world is changing and looks like you haven't a clue.....too bad.

  • @spareaxe tribal governments are not nearly as large as the US government, there is much more transparency; most people know who you can and can't trust. the tribal leader who drives around town in his/her new BMW is probably not going to get reelected. While you become more of a capitalist, you lose more of what you know is right. What is the point of saving the tribe if we become white in the process? No real elders in your family I assume. You are already white, too bad.

  • @checkle1 I never said you have to change into a white guy!! That's another stupid comment, you have no idea of what is going on other than to appeal to emotions about family or just to lay blame. If you run for tribal gov't, which by the way who would vote for you anyway....you don't need some elder to tell you how to live...how old are you? Elders have to earn respect, they have to prove themselves just like anyone else. Fucking blanket ass indian!!

  • @spareaxe by elder, I mean a person who is respectable and experienced who teaches you not to be such a moron. Of course there is the alcoholic "old indian" who most people won't consider an elder. You are a moron though so I am done with this conversation, I was taught by my elders not to argue with morons because you can't learn anything and I will just be fed your bullshit arguments so we both lose.

  • @checkle1 Your right...you can't think for yourself so run and hide. Typical indian, can't handle debate so call names and bails. Fail

  • I have some of these Photos which on this video Lonewolf4540

  • the best commandments ever !!!

  • Now its time we start following these laws. There is too much talk and blaming. Its time for action

  • great soundtrack..

  • Where did you take these from?

  • @grozde It was a while ago,so I don't remember where.Just search the net. There are some great sites with great photo galleries of native americans

  • In this time, Integrity is not sought after virtue.....If people would just stop LYING!!!!!

  • i just had an awakening and was told i needed to talk to a doctor!! i believe you guys. wish i could find a dead chief to talk to too see if my visions are true. cause the medicane man went nuts!!!

  • @bruno51682 medicane or medicine man

  • @creetradishlady1 not to be rude or anything, but whats your point? nothing has changed, does anybody know what has caused the war anyway? it has come to my attention that the weather is not right,, everthing is man made now adays------ need more sleep--- find me a peace cloud. if you could see the ones that come--you would be horrified. i ment medicine.

  • @bruno51682 medicane?

  • I'm surprised how close it is to what Jesus wanted. How wonderful. Love, respect and the greater good for humanity.

  • violence even well intentioned always rebounds upon itself

Killing dear for food is violence but all will face the great spirit after death, so walk in beauty

  • Thanx 4 watching!

  • It is the way Man has been programmed since the beginning of Time - Totesterone the Male Hormone - To Survive, Hunt, Provide. Women were programmed differently - To Nurture, and Interact. Thousands of years down the line - We are supposedly Civilised!!!!! - Nature Versus Nurture - I personaly think we are programmed at Birth - Environment and Human Influence play a part and then ultimately - Freedom to choose how you Re act and Behave. Amazing Commandments - Very Spiritual People indeed.

  • Nature is ruthless, hunting to feed or protect a question of survival, not violence. Yes, you are a very messed up person and thats the beginning of all violences, having no principles.

  • Violence is a learned bad white "tradition". Thats why native people called the "white devils" to the civilization that cant live is peace with other civilizations, including their own. Respect, tolerance and learning/understanding about other traditions is required. Pain leads to pain. Violence leads to violence. Death leads to more deaths. Its always a matter of choice. Choose wisely! Hugh!

  • Everything we do is learned. We learn to love, to speak, to write, to read, to ask questions. Cat's don't LEARN how to hunt, they know how to, it's in their instincts, just like the humans. Ever heard of FIGHT or Flight?

What do you classify as violence? I mean really? Killing an animal to survive is violent, we don't learn how to kill, it's instincts, sure we can learn new ways how to kill, but do you honestly want to go around and say that animal nature is not violent as well as loving?

  • Violence= Hunting animals to feed. White people were the only people to do this first? Give me a fucking break! Violence is in Nature it's self, Cry some more and blame others because you're an ignorant human. Death is natural, death leads to more deaths? Where did you get this fucktard logic from?

Pain leads to pain?. Pain just is!

  • Do you call in non-violent for a man to kill a deer to feed his family? Is this evil or somehow un-human, the need to survive?

A man breaks into your home, it's instincts to protect ones self, how? WITH VIOLENCE!

  • @Arrada101 protect your selves, eat what you kill, " burgler is now a burger"

  • thanks for this vid

  • Thanks 4 watching)

  • I like these positive thoughts to live by. That is wisdom, for "wisdom is of the future" Lumbee

  • All this bickering. It's a beautiful video and the native sentiments therein are touching. It says a lot about morality,

our current version and otherwise. And of course it brings

shame as a white American - you realize all that was lost.

But that's big business. War always was.

That said, much of what wiped out the Indians was the introduction of unfamiliar viruses into their ecosystem, intentional or otherwise.

  • There is a great book about Native Americans called 1491.

  • too bad you americans massacred them all....

  • umm no. We americans didnt, seeing as the men who did...are dead. no one alive has massacred the native americans.

  • i still think we should acknowledge responsibility for events such as this. only then will we all be able to live in peace.

  • Most know about it and they are ashamed about what happened. I live near the Cherokee tribe and i am part cherokee indian, i hate human the human nature that wants to conquer ( idk if i spelled that right) and kill.

  • I'm American and I believe what our forefathers did to the Natives was bad in every way imaginable. Yet, You're correct in the fact that WE had nothing to do with it. I believe white Europeans could have learned sooooo much from the Natives. Like I said, it was bad in EVERY way. Not just for them, for US as well.

  • They obviously took the brunt of it though.

  • its not human nature

  • What isn't human nature? What ever a human does is their nature. Seeing as we are part of nature, whatever we do is part of it. Do you understand? I doubt you will.

  • yeh I know what your saying! Not in our nature, mine was in reply to something someone said about violence.

Its (violence) not in our nature. Just because we do it does not make it our nature. Its a phrase and open to a little interpretation.

You can argue against it, but how can you be violent if you are vegetarian/vegan? Is cutting a plant to eat violence?

Why would you doubt I understand, how do you know what I understand?

  • Violence is a part of nature, we are a part of nature, therefor it is in our nature to be violent, even if we don't like it. sorry, that's reality.

  • "nature versus nurture" - behaviour which is natural and that which is nurtured (learned) is not then natural or in our nature as it has been learned. Please tell me how an infant is violent?

reality is whatever you choose to create. Your reality is not my reality.

  • Reality is reality, you're ignoring all of nature. An infant is hardly anything. I've known children who have been attacked, who's instincts were to fight back. This is our nature, to survive, and to protect. We protect with violence, just like a bear will kill incoming threats with violence, to save their cubs. You don't live in reality, you live in your imaginary fairy land where everything is what you want to be, not the way it naturally is. Nature is kind and brutal, cold and warm.

  • "too bad you americans massacred them all...."

too bad you brits weren't simply content with oppressing and massacring your gaelic-speaking neighbors and decided to embark on hundreds of years of bloody, destructive global colonial conquest which made it possible for America to even exist in the first place.

  • touche

  • @TheGreaterGood80 So your saying the Brits were evil??? Thank God I'm not.... they were kind of rambunctious and power hungry weren't they....

  • @alliekat9989 not quite, I'm just reminding stupid people to remember their own country's history(BTW, stupid people can be from anywhere)before attacking someone else's. I don't hate the UK

  • @TheGreaterGood80 You know, I was going to write something pretty mean to you. But I had to read you comment over and over lol. You were talking about that other guy haha... Anyway yes, Americans didn't really do anything because back then, Americans were the Natives. It was the Brits who came here and made everything hell. So agreed.

  • @the7thwreck you should watch my video then

  • Wow! Where did you find those pictures? I am looking for some beautiful Native American pictures.
