Yes, Nintendo Gamecube games can be played in the Wii, that is what the Gamecube controllers are for, and you can use the Gamecube controller for secondary control for the downloadable games, and is supposedly suppose to be used for certain games like the upcoming Super Smash Bros Brawl for controls.
