bought a refurb. xbox 360 from gamestop for $100 6 months later it gets rrod opened it up all of this that u did was already done so WTF this isnt permanently all i was able to do was put thermal paste on and overheat it to work temporarily now rrod happens so much i just do the towel trick and ive done that like 50 times now and still works
looks like cpu and gpu are getting desoldered from board.it that issue with xbox?are the new models of console more resistant for overheating?is this new heatsink mount much better?so you fix that and how long it lasts to nex fix until compound gets dry again?
Well we can all admit tht M$ shit has made a stupid noob mistake not tested this console to the extreme before it was released. And all this crap just to fix a console tht should have worked . What happened to consoles working forever ?~? i still have a snes tht kicks ass.
Did it work as well as this video shows it will? I took mine apart again and reseated the heat coolers (cookers, heh), but still got screwed. Let it heat up about a dozen times, still no luck.
Tried all this with every detail. The video was very helpful in tearing apart and repairing, but still get the rings of death.
The other videos all show the finished product working but I was unfortunate in my outcome. Buy the extended warranty next time. My unit ran out of the three year Microsoft warranty three weeks after it crashed. YEs, it sucks for me, and makes me wonder about Microsoft products...
