Dyne...I don't remember if her mother was named...Eleanor? Shinra burned Corel, where Dyne's wife lived and she was killed. You (Barret) fight him down in the Golden Saucer's prison camp. Something like that. It's been a while, so yeah. :)

But I remember reading somewhere that she was designed to look like Aerith, but act like Tifa, Something along those lines.

Ya she was, you are correct! She was supposed to take on Aerith's look but because she's spent so much of her life being raised by Tifa she acts like her. And thus she combines the two main girls.

I'm gonna weigh in my 2 cents on the weird family: Marlene obviously see's Barret as her father, Barret see's Marlene as his daughter. As such, this video doesn't really make sense (But then, how many YouTube videos actually do?). I think that Marlene doesn't view Tifa as a mom, but probably like how a kid would see a step mom or adoptive mom or maybe just someone she really admires (Note she still calls her Tifa, not mom. She calls Barret dad). Cloud she cares about, but not like that.

Exactly. Marlene knows who her father is and it's NOT Cloud. She loves Cloud and she's there to give him a clue (like when she yelled at him in the forgotten city) but she doesn't view him as her father, nor does Denzel and that's confirmed.

Barret adopted Marlene when Marlene's real parents died. Ever since, Marlene has considered Barret her father, actually, she KNOWS he's her father now. Not Cloud. She knows Cloud isn't her father, nor her father figure to her for that matter.

Poor Tifa :( Well she has Marlene..? Just any somewhat "family" makes her day. And she does view him as a son even though he is shy. Though he does seem to like her in AC, ya know when fighting Bahumut *shrugs* Well i won't lie that he completely adores Cloud. And you can care for your family just cuz you don't open up. But still Cloud's got most of that childs heart. It's just a very complicated family.

I know what you mean, I was just reading a movie review on this for no reason, and the person stated that they knew nothing about the games and gave it a really low score rating because "they didn't understand anything". I was thinking "heck ya! You aren't going to understand anything, if you've never even played the game then why watch the movie and waste your time writing a pointless, bad review?!"
