Okay, when I try to record IN GAME, it says video compression failure. So I started recording on the desktop and get a black screen :C I'm using divx 6.9.2 Please help T-T

Ok for everyone who gets a black screen, you must open Hypercam, then open rollercoaster tycoon, THEN start recording, IN THAT ORDER. If you start recorded hypercam, then open rollercoaster tycoon, you will get a black screen

you can record with just about any screen recorder...personally i dont like hypercam cuz it causes a ton of lag :C

i did every thing you said but when i open rct2 it starts to lag when im recording. I can move the mouse its just that my game is lagging and takes 5 min to press one button.

You don't necessarily have to set the height and width to match your game resolution, unless you want to record the whole screen. I record my coasters by setting the area as 400x300 and then dragging the coaster window to match that area.

One important setting everyone should adjust to avoid low quality is the frame rate. I use 25 or 30 fps because the default value of 10 is just horrible.

Apparently you already have HyperCam2 installed. One little question: you are not clicking on the installation program I suppose? If you do, there is where it went wrong. If you didn't, but you did click on the shortcut for HyperCam2 itself, then I got no clue tbh :O Maybe reinstalling might work?

I think it also applies for RCT1, not 100% sure though, worth a shot.

There should be no problems, corruption etc, if you download it.

There is a free version and a version for which you have to pay. But the free version works perfectly fine, as far as I know the version you need to pay for only removes the "Unregistered HyperCam 2" Tag from all you've recorded.

Do you mean the black screen in this movie? If so then there's nothing to worry about, that's just a black background I've added.

If you mean the black screen while you are recording there are several explanations:

- Using HyperCam1 might cause a black screen

- There's a chance that the first several seconds turn out black, just leave HyperCame recording (RCT) while doing nothing for about 30 seconds.
