If Tony does another album, the list of collaborators should be: Corey Talor, the singer from Queens of The Stoneage, Neil Fallon from Clutch, Jerry Cantrell, Jonathan Davis, Chris Cornell, Kirk Windstein from Crowbar, Scott Weiland, Dio, and paige hamilton from Helmet
It will be hard to collaborate with Dio seeing as he's dead.......
But I totally agree he should team up with Kirk Windstein. Imagine the total badassery those two could come up with. The two lords of the riff making one awesome, doom/sludge track would be amazing.
I love this album. There´s not even one bad or mediocre song on it. All is prefect. BUT, The album would be the best ever made if Ronnie James Dio and Glenn Hughes would have been on it as well. They would have fitted on this one
Led Zeppelin was heavy metal at that time. No one dared cross that far. It was hard core shit back then. Now we would call Led Zeppelin progressive rock.
Anyway onto this song. This is what would happen if you fused the super powered riffs of Motley Crüe with the Rebellious,Rock voice of Ian Astbury of The Cult. They both kick ass.
Iommi... a true musician. He can play whatever style of music, with numerous vocalists, and never compromise his own unique "Iommi-ness" Must be that controlled Brittish aggression... the man is brilliant. I dig how he is always doing something different and getting away from the "cookie cutter" stuff... Dio did it all the time too... like with Kerry Livegren (Kansas founder / Guitarist)
yeah Iommi can call all those amazin singers but theres ONLY ONE IAN....and thats The ASSKICKIN ASTBURY........that voice break walls - JUST dat!!!!!!!!! ASTBURY RULES!!!!!!!!
Fukn awesome Ian is one of the most underrated frontmen of all time. He got suked into the Big Hair era cause they came out in the eighties. Fukn awesome.............
iommi should make another iommi album and call up dio, rob halford, bruce dickinson, eddie vedder, ian gillan, mike patton, chris cornell, and glenn danzig! yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
@theZodiacDigital Email the record company now, you can produce it, make it happen! This riff is classic Iommi. Get Jimmy Page to guest/duel with Iommi. Mike Patton, yeah bay! Also Hetfield and NIN vocalist (drunk as hell so can't remember his name).. brainfart
There's a MILLION awesome vocalists who would sound great with Tony Iommi, cause while his guitar playing shines through in it's own right, there's just something about his guitar playing that brings out some of the best in whatever vocalist is singing with him!
i'm not really sure how eddie vedder fits into that category.... he kinda blows and isn't metal at all.... but i concur.... another Iommi album would be awesome.
@theZodiacDigital I know i'm a little too late to catch this comment, but unfortunately, now we will never see this idea brought to fruition. R.I.P. Dio. :(
This is from Tony Iommi's "Iommi" album. He took a select few singers for this solo album, and he could have not picked any better ALL of them are 100% perfect with him. But this is the only time that Ian and him did anything together(that I know of)...
